- Welcome to our first part of two videos looking at the all new Midland Main Line: Leicester - Derby & Nottingham Route for Train Sim World 3!
In this video we will utilise the fantastic all new Class 158 Diesel Multiple Unit. Fully equipped with Armstrong Powerhouse audio recordings this certainly is one of the best units to TSW to date!
We will focus on a stopping service that began in Lincoln where we take over at Nottingham and call at the following stations to Leicester; Beeston, East Midlands Parkway, Loughborough, Barrow - upon - Soar, Sileby & Syston.

Good video, Thanks. Yeah a few bugs to work out, hope they do the run through to Melton Mowbray, Oakham with the iconic old red signal box and so on.
The 158 sounds are excellent - certainly matching the quality of the 323.
Yeah certainly. However the 158 sounds may be better but im biased to liking 158s 🤣
The tsw 158 and 323 are both wrong in the most important areas sound wise
@@jasonmoffat679 What areas are those in your view? The only sound issues I could find with the 323 was the lack of motor whistle and that motors cut of when going straight from notch 1 of power to step 1 braking - the motors should stay constant - drivers often do this to hold low speed. Other than that, I could find no issues.
The 323 sounds like a synthesiser has been used, besides the constant cutting out the TS Classic version was much more realistic
I know I’m 2 months late, but now that we have the MML, hopefully we can see SWT come soon.
i know you make Midland Main Line for TSC will you look at doing more on it to for TSW 3

I think the sounds are a bit off for that 158, when you initially take power it sounds like a Perkins powered unit, as it doesn't have the deeper slower power up the Cummins units have. However, when you get up to speed a bit more it sounds like a Cummins unit. When you're on idle it's ok but yeah the initial power up just seems wrong to my ear.
The cab looks really nice, although the little blue doors open light above the AWS is always illuminated when it should only be so when the doors are open and the brakes are then put into emergency until interlock is regained. The exterior proving lights don't look bright enough during the day and the cab lights etc again don't seem to look like they work either. Overall it looks decent with a few teething problems that could be resolved to improve the overall model and features.

@@jasonmoffat679 I agree is doesn't sound 100% like one, just sounds like an odd hybrid mix between the two. The idle sounds like a Cummins, once you are at a decent speed it sounds ok but the initial power up the turbos come on too quickly and the engine doesn't sound deep and throaty enough.
@@DriverReg455864 its because this TSW 158 doesnt have the revving sounds because the antiquated, standard unreal sound system in the game doesnt support sophisticated seperate revving sounds like the old game can. in the 158 EP for the old game theres seperate sound files that play over the standard engine sound when you open the throttle which provide the bassy and throaty sound of the engines revving. in this TSW rentition you get to hear what it sounds like without the seperate revving sounds - terrible
@@Trainman10715 That makes sense, I have to say I don't understand the technical side of TS that much but TSW does seem to be lovely for the visuals and TSC is better for the audio and physics side of things, as well as having longer route.

On the stream, they did freight services that were meant to be in the release but due to issues were taken out and will patch in the future.

Think Just Trains route is better on classic. How does this compare, if at all?
Would liked to have seen some trams like the JTs version in TSC. The stations etc also do not look as detailed as the JTs version. Above all it’s a pretty decent route and looks more realistic than WCL!!! Unlike Rivet, I hope that Skyhook will continue to do more work on the route and improve the realism over time and correcting the points Tom raised in this video. Love the smoke at the EMP power station!!!
Trams would of been great just like how edinburgh to glasgow was done. Jist a shame the ohle wasnt done at the bridges.
It’s the initial surge on RPM it just doesn’t sound correct. Like the 150.
The HST is the same, a shame really.
It sounds wrong because its AP recordings but it's mixed by DTG

On the PC its number 8 on the keyboard. Sadly i do not know for consoles

Has anyone seen any traffic on this route? I know the rolling stock is limited but is there anything?
Saw a bit during during recording this video. But it does go quiet.

poor made route. too much platforms not very much parallel to track, at some the trains cratches them; at 22:00 min: I have no words about that bridge, and some other bugs. Sad, could be a nice DLC in TSW. So finally the TS-Version stays best 😃😊
I just can't understand devs releasing games in such a poor state. Most of the reviews are garnered at release so you're just stymying your sales. Bizarre business decision . . . . .
The route in my opinion looks rushed. So many faults. Even the trains look a tad rushed too.
TSW is still rubbish compared to Train Sim Classic in my humble opinion.
