    The shopping center is beautiful, it looks like a botanical garden. And the shops with so many columns look like Roman villas. And great cleaning...the floor shines like a mirror.

      I am sure the maintenance costs are huge. this the mall owned by the same company that build the IKEA Like store next door. You just walk through an underpass from one to the next, and there is a third mall called VEGAS just to this one. This place is on a different level though, with so many high end stores. Russell.

      Do you live by one of only 3 KMART stores left in the USA? Where I live we have not had one for a decade. No Sears or Montgomery Wards ether. We do have TJMaxx, Ross dress for less and a few other discount places. I agree this mall is to much but KMART is to little quality. I prefer middle of the road shops.

    2:50 - this particular species of palm is quite robust and stubborn, they easily survive in dry urban apartment "climate". Back in the Soviet age, these were everywhere, from hospitals to factory floors. My grandmother hated them for their ubiquity and preferred pineapple "trees".

    • @dianedenham5259
      @dianedenham5259 Před rokem

      Interesting. I am mildly interested in plants (but not a green thumb) because when I was doing janitorial work at a a private members' club management decided they didn't want to pay for the plant care company anymore so got me to water the plants weekly. I read up on all the different plants we had, tried my best. But certain plants (palms in large deep floor pots) were dying off over time. Someone mentioned that Food & Beverage staff were dumping the water from ice buckets into the plants at the end of the evening. 😱 The boss told them to stop but by then several plants had died. 😔 Part of the problem was the plants would get dragged around during the set-up for different functions. Ficus trees are especially delicate to abrupt changes, will drop their leaves. 😯 Peace lilies in permanent planters did well though. 😌

      @@TravellingwithRussell In their very beginning, in the 1990s, Crocus operated the finest grocery store in Moscow in the same location (and its twin on the site of present-day Vegas mall). Lots of genuine US-made foods. Almost everything was imported from decent countries - none of those Russian-made chemical concoctions. By early 2000s the government killed this business model completely.

      Lol. Nobody wonders about it. It wont be closed. Sanctions failed once again. Ruble is the strongest currency of 2022. Inflation is a way less than in the west which imposed thos sanctions and destroyed their own economies. There a plenty of jobs right now and will be even more with new politics. Your countries will loose high paid jobs actually, because we will not buy your products anymore. And recession? You mean like in the us now? Lol nope. Our economy isnt inflated there is 0% chance of recession in Russia.

    Уважаемые иностранные комментаторы хочу вас разочаровать!!!! Никакого кризиса в России нет!!!! Торговые центры в России работают в обычном режиме!!! Можно подумать вы себе позволяете покупки дорогих брендов... Или вы хотите что бы вы нас санкциями пугали,унижали нас,обзывали,воевали против нас,снабжали оружием нацистов на Украине,отстраняли наших спортсменов,запрещали нашу культуру,врали без конца про нищую Россию а мы будем бегать в ваши магазины и продолжать вас кормить??? Плевали мы на ваши бренды... стоят больших денег а вид все равно говно... И сам факт того что центр открыт,фонтаны работают не экономят воду как вы,освещение прекрасное и не экономят электроэнергию,а вы не можете себе это позволить,содержать в идеальной чистоте такой центр стоит не мало денег.... ну и где нищета??? А где пьяные русские??? Вы ж все верещите про русских алкашей.. интересно тогда кому строили такие центры???? У вас нет ни логики ни умения анализировать.... Рассуждаете так как вам навязывают ваши пропагандисты... )))

    Is this Russia's future or their opening scene of 'Gone With the Wind'? All malls have quiet times. Friday afternoon, is that normally one of those? Is the average Russian allowed inside or is their pedigree checked at the door? Must be an age thing, but trying to draw happiness from the acquisition of 'things' few others can afford is like eating cotton candy thinking it is food. Thanks for the vignette?

    This Mall is beautifully designed, built and managed.
    The business plan is clearly towards a high end luxury retail experience.
    Sadly after sanctions this retail therapy is no longer available to Russian people. Hopefully scenes like this will help focus normal people in Russia to question the behaviour and actions of their Government and Political leaders and make them accountable.
    I take no pleasure, and I do have sympathy for normal Russian people as their economy and standard of living is in serious decline.
    But we must also think of the people of Ukraine who have suffered unimaginable pain and hardship, and continue to do so.

    I see so many of these videos out of Russia where people are talking/comparing who has the better mall, who has the best gas prices or food prices etc. Meanwhile there's no shame or guilt about what their country is doing to thousands of innocent civilians, many of whom have relatives and ties to Russia. I see beautiful architecture (St Petersburg), beautiful parks (Sochi) and again, beautiful shopping. There is much for Russians to be proud of but how they can just go about their enjoyment of life when just across the border, their country is destroying another. I hope I never grow such a thick skin!

      Any objective person would see the war in Ukraine in a very different perspective. The war is between Russia and west, Ukraine voluntarily staged the scenario. I believe her politicians are being paid handsomely for their service. U should better ask US politicians why they want to dismantle and dismember Russia. As per US president, congress men and high officials the objective of the war is to bring regime change in Russia. I am not Russian but someone who followed the news objectively.

      This was a mall mainly for foreign brands. Watch his other videos, or videos by channels like Different Russia. Normal malls are still humming. Russian companies have sprung up or expanded to take over where foreign brands left. Don't feel sorry for the Russians, because they aren't the ones who will end up suffering from the sanctions. Putin ensured that Russia is nearly immune from western sanctions, a policy he put in effect after the sanctions of 2012. Feel bad for the west. Many American economists and political analysts are pointing out that the sanctions are cementing relationships between middle-eastern and eastern countries, having the probable consequence of knocking the dollar off its pedestal as the world's reserve currency. Without that status, we have nothing. The dollar isn't backed by gold, so without world-reserve currency status, we are screwed.
