Anton is coming into his own. He is coming in with views and facts to back it up. Really good to see.
I've noticed that also. Seems a bit more comfortable speaking in front of the camera. 👏🏾
*1:36** “Saka wasn’t doing this at 18” - lol talk about showing how uniformed you can be. Saka was destroying United away from LB at 17.*
@@JR01015 talk about out of context. He did not say he was not playing well. What he was talking about was, the consistently high level that Mainoo is doing game after game. He was saying Saka had good (great) games but that he was not performing consistently at the same high level every game and to be honest there are not many that have ever done that. So not uninformed just a completely different point to the one you are trying to make.
Also, the big point about Mainoo is his composure and decision making. As a Man Utd fan we can only look on jealously at your right wing and enjoy watching Saka be such a great direct dribbler right-wing player.
Personally, I do not like comparing players as one better than another, especially in 2 such different players it does not make sense but I do think we are looking at this the wrong way. Saka is often used as a yardstick precisely because he is and was so good when he was a youngster. He also forced his way into the team at an early age and the England set up so these similarities might be why we are comparing them??
I just think we need to take the whole comment as a paragraph and not a sentence. Maybe??
@@danieldarks3721 mainoos played like 10 games and not all of them have been that good. I think he's getting carried away, like most utd fans
@@jh4892 That is why it is called opinion. And in a very poor Man Utd team he has been a stand-out performer.
At least spout correct facts he has done at least double that number in games already and the season is not finished. Again Saka in his first breakthrough season also only played 20 PL games.
I think a good description of Mainoo (in my opinion) is he seems "refined" even at 18 whereas other 18 year old wonder kids can be described as "raw".
Very exciting talent.
that can be good and bad... many young talent show a decent level when young and don't really get better with age but their level is decent...
His level is far more than decent 😂
@@harrymic75he is starting for United and is looking class. Even if he stays at this level for years then he still starts so it’s not a problem
@@harrymic75Varane was that guy for me. Started off on a high, never really got much better but stayed consistent for a long period.
@@Slacktionman isnt that what i basically said
4 goals and 12 assists in all comps from left back at 19/20 season
They obviously didn’t watch The Arsenal back then. We were finishing 8th in the league two seasons in a row, we were not a threat to anyone, but we had this starboy kid who was carrying our team as a 17 year old and he was CONSISTENTLY the best player in our team from the moment he stepped in! Carried us.
most of his g/a came when he played further forward. still 1 goal and assists at lb at 18 is massively impressive
@@odasdefender8202 Mainoo hasn’t got good G&A at all. So let’s set that aside for a minute. Saka passes the eye test and was one of our most effective players at LWB when he stepped up. Attacking and defensively he was superb. He couldn’t be dropped once he came in the team, he was that good.
What people need to realise that Saka hit 100 goal contributions by the time he played 210 games in all comps for Arsenal. Some of the greats in the game don’t have them numbers. C Ronaldo had 7 contributions less after 210 games.
I’m not directing this at you, as you gave him credit, but he needs much more respect on his name. The comparison is crazy tbh
@@odasdefender8202 the fact he has more goals and assist then C Ronaldo at 210 games played says it all. Even more so when you consider that he played at lwb for a whole season.
Saka was doing this at 18 turning 19. Just like Mainoo will… Saka played in the euros at 19 (Mainoo turns 19 next month) and despite the penalty miss? Saka was one of Englands best players in the tournament. The following season Saka dropped 18 G/A’s in the prem without a true striker up front.
Mainoo is a magnificent talent. But we don’t need to use Saka as the benchmark for everyone. You could say Jude? Or Foden? Or Rashford? It’s not always Saka. I’m noticing a lot of pundits say he’s not world class, but they use him as the pinnacle of measuring success as an English talent in 2024. Quite sad.
Underrated comment, they should compare him to central midfielders.
Spot on this
Saka was mad bro, we aren't saying he wasn't. On pure talent, I'd say him and Kobbie came into the England squad on almost the same levels. The thing with Kobbie that's different, and what sets him apart from Saka, is you could see that Saka was playing like a youngster at the time. He was exciting. Kobbie has been here all of two minutes and looks like he's 34 years old with the ball. I don't know how else to explain it. You watch him feel like you're watching a much older player. It's more than exciting. It's awe-inspiring.
TELL THEM AGAIN.
Great comment, spot on 🎯
"Hasn't had injuries" Kobbie was injured for months this season
earliper in the season.. he legs were always strapped up when he played..
Because a real Madrid player fell on his knee
1 injury lol
It was during preseason. Are you slow?
@@user-uc6bl2yh5kbut he was out for months since that game in preseason. He returned to training in late November
That take on Saka by Anton is spot on. When Saka was 18, he hadn't yet nailed down a spot in the Arsenal starting XI. He was playing on both flanks, in midiefield and at Left Back. Kobbie hasn't had a bad game and literally makes everyone around him feel at ease when he's on the ball. Name me another 18 year old doing dem tingz dey....
Saka was 17yrs then,
Saka werent that guy at 18, Stop it 😂 Greenwood was the bigger talent during that period and thats a fact.
How did the Saka v Greenwood debate go? 😂
@@aali7814 Saka won, but that don't inalidate his point either
If greenwood wouldnt of fucked up saka wouldnt even see an england starting 11
@@LosBags Saka was mint and is mint. It's the reason he was in a debate in the first place
STRAIGHT FACTS! People forget greenwood was ahead of Saka when the both came on the scene STRAIGHT FACTS!!!
The biggest plus for Mainoo is that at such a young age, he's super calm on the ball and his composure on the ball in tight spaces with opposing players around him is very very rare. I can't remember having seen a player possess that and show it on the EPL and international stage at 18. I mean, his little dribble past 2-3 Liverpool players in that FA Cup quarter-final was just......you see that, and you'd just go, "Where did that come from? This guy is only 18 and this is only his first season?"
Yes he is more consistent than what saka was at 18
No way saka was carrying arsenal

Agreed. I feel sorry for the kid
Spot on 🎯💯
Disgrace? You even know what that means?
Its just the world we live in now, everybody has an opinion about something with the means to put it out there, and opinions like that are polarising which is why it’s used as the title of the video to draw people into clicking, Its like when people use the word GOAT or legend about sportsman who have no business being called it lol, Mainoo is very good especially for his age, but there’s a mad long way to go before you can start throwing out words like “generational talent” lol. Just let the boy develop for crying out loud.
im so proud of mainoo we need to keep him calm and away from silly headlines. his talent will shine as long as the english media dont ruin him and make him think hes the next pele or zidane
Y'all need to chill on the generational talent and Seedorf comparisons. Let son develop and play!
Saka was the definition of consistent from the off
U need a dictionary
Exactly, they don’t know what they’re talking about Jesse.
Not that consistent deeming he’s had many stinkers lol
Saka has been carrying Arsenal since he was 17
They don’t know about 87 and 77 saka
Flex held his own. Clean sheet and everything 😂
Anton is so wrong on Saka. Guy was carrying Arsenal on his back since day one. Consistent and mature beyond his years.
Saka was playing LWB at 18. Shut up lol
No he wasn’t. He was showing that he has high potential but it was very inconsistent
Not at 18. That's when he was playing left wing back. And when he started on the wing, he was good but still quite raw as it took him some time to become what he is now.
LWB, LW, RW it didn’t matter. He was consistently cooking in all these positions. Guarantee you these guys under my comment barely watched him play. But if you know you know. The evidence is on CZcams, just look it up
@@stailenknife5453I love how United fans think he was inconsistent yet the people watching him week in week out could see he was the best player on the pitch for arsenal near every week

Maino has played 14 games and we are calling him a generational talent. Lets give him a full season at the top level. We have been here before
The buzz around mainoo has been there for a few years w Utd fans. He’s been amazing each age group he played for
What I hate about all of this mainoo hype is that when he has two bad games, flex will be the first doing a press run asking if we were all wrong about kobbie 🙄😔
Mainoo x Rice x Bellingham x Foden x Madders OUR BEST Midfield 5 in England for EUROUS🏴🔥
Southgate will find a way…to piss it away😂😂😂😂
Stop hating
Trust this kid is the REAL deal ain’t no two ways about it
Mainoo is a wonderkid,The best 18 years old player i’ve seen…I watched him in youth academy and live sometimes,At 16-17 he was the best player on the pitch good enough for senior level,He’d go round a whole team and assist or score,Make quick thinking moves and scan the pitch like Xavi and that’s not stretching at all,He’s that good,I knew he’d be this talent right now,He was injured for months,Came back and was straight in the United team without hesitation,Phenomenal in pre season,Phenomenal in 20 odd games for United and phenomenal for England,Need much more at such a rapid progress rate for such a super talent like mainoo ? Because he’s the real deal if Rival fans cry about him or not,Many fans agree and have came to the same conclusion after the England matches. That hes world class,Yes,As a youngster,He’s special.
Also,Belgium fans and England fan had a standing ovation for him,Many foreign fans said praises about him too….You don’t hear that often.
I agree entirely . Mainoo is something special alright . Just to see him come on against brazil and change the temp of the game to walk around the pitch and literally take the piss out of them . He was playing like modric nobody could get near him .
I think what really sets him apart from modern midfielders today is he really seems to understand the tempo and flow of the game and has the skill set to do it .
In the recent match of Liverpool vs City . The game was played at 90 mph . None of the midfielders on the pitch were able to get hold of the ball and slow it down . Not rodri or mccalister .
People say rodri can control a match , while he can to a degree . He is not great at it . He is no modric , scholes or pirlo that's for sure .
I don't rate mccalister he is talented playmaker but in the world cup when argentina were 2-0 up against holland and france . He let them back in the game .
The only criticism i would have of mainoo is that he doesn't seem to have that long range passing or switches of play that scholes had . At least if he does I haven't seen it yet .
Anton is spot on as a former top level Baller i trust him....Kobbie is playing like he has been here done that.
I do agree with Anton comparing Saka & Mainoo at 18 but right here 1:52 brother stuck that knife in too deep “what was he doing!?” I actually spat out my latte 😂
Kobbie is gonna silence all his "doubters". But let's get real, most of them don't actually doubt him they just wish he was overhyped.
People Anton Ferdinand are the reason why people are now waiting on Mainoo’s downfall unfortunately
@SHEK110 It's still quite backwards to wish the worst for someone just because they are receiving praise. It's not like Kobbie is out there praising himself. He's a humble and level headed kid tbh.
WE GOT THIS FLEX!!! Don't let them throw you off!!!
Anton & Abbi class. Flex ...
flex is what?
Bring it on
Odegaard over Foden all day everyday
I am going with Anton on the combined 11
Saka has missed what 1 game in the PL since he started at 17. Has played LB, LW, RW and whatnot. Under three managers. But yeah sure he wasn’t consistent.
sure they 're talking about performance
Played 3 positions probably says all you need to know if he was consistent he would of played one position
You lot are clueless and clearly didn’t watch saka when he was first breaking through
@@JohnDoe-rf8tbwhat a nonsense statement 😂. He was too good as a LB, do went up to the wings
@@JohnDoe-rf8tb You literally have no idea what you're taking about. Saka was not inconsistent at all. Consistency has actually been his main attribute
Comparing Mainoo n Saka is silly they BOTH play 2 totally different positions and are BOTH star boys for their clubs so irrelevant topic 🤝
Lamine yamal 16 age old and starting for both Barcelona and spain is insane
Those who can't tell the difference in quality between Mainoo and saka are the same people who can't tell the difference between Foden and Rashford.
A winger being consistent without g/a is much much difficult than a cm being consistent without g/a
Abbie should appear more with the boys. Love the chemistry!!!
Anton spot on. Checks the facts and stats. Saka wasn't doing this at 18. He's a top top player tho.
Checked the wrong stats lad. 😂😂😂
4 goals, 12 assists as an 18 year old, very inconsistent 😂
100% back Flex on the Antony take, I think he gets a lot of unwanted stick because of his price tag. He has been poor this season for sure but ffs he wasn’t bad in his 1st. He’s also had bad personal issues and therefore I’m 100% in agreement with Flex, 1 of the hardest players on the pitch, gives his everything too. Give him a chance that’s all we ask.
I like Madison, the stats don't lie
Kobbie is the real deal he's gonna be a serious baller
Anton is literally rio with a deeper and slightly slower voice, the similarities is craaaaaaaaaazy lol
Saka was never inconsistent
Trust me 😂 they smoking crack them Ferdinands family known to dibble and dabble
*Lool “generational talent”. Here comes the overhype train again.*
"....Antony scored on his right foot 👣"....😂💪
Anton rinsing that Ake saltfish joke TOO HARD lol
8.5 😂 I like that.
🔴 Fabregas and Wilshere burst through at 15 & 16 and were both doing crazy things! Mainoo is a good prospect but let him develop. Mentioning Saka's name is almost for clicks. Mainoo and Saka don't even play in the same position but Saka's name being mentioned. Compsre Mainoo to Cesc or Wilshere at 18 not Saka 🔴
Serious question... how many teams in the premier league(except Man City) does kobbie mainoo right now not walk into? Arsenal fans, before you come here, trust me, he partner's rice and odegaard in your midfield..

He's definitely world class
This could have been far worse. We could have had to put up with Joel Beya or Darren Bent. The England squad is stacked with the same profile as Saka. Foden and Bowen to name just a couple who are probably superior wearing the England shirt.
Do you honestly think, England’s player of the year, for 2 seasons in a row (Saka) is worse than Foden and Bowen? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 nah man, there’s so many kids in the comments, we can’t take them seriously.
Check Saka’s goals and assists in an England shirt and you will find he has more than Bowen and Foden combined. Please do research before you type kid
United is going through their banter era in real time. WATTBA
IMO, Mainoo is more like a 6.5 than an 8.5, Mount/Foden/Maddison are more of the 8.5s
I can see what he means when he says it, I don’t think he should be a 6 like Rice (though even he isn’t a pure 6), Mainoo is more of a less refined Gundogan or something like that, just doesn’t quite have the goal threat to be the 8.5 just yet I don’t think
Later career scholes but without the screamers and crazy switches, BUT with the ability to drive with the ball and Tackle properly 🤣
Bit like Frenkie De Jong
Anton pretend to be a Westham fan but deep down he's a United fan. Always defending and hyping United players Lol

Saka was playing LB at 18!!!
Foden needs to be in the 10 role, anywhere on the wings and he is ineffective. Bellingham and Rice in the 8 and 6 respectively.
No mention of Bernado!?
Mainoo is fantastic, but lets hold off on the big statements for a couple more years! Nobody hypes their own players more than the english.
I’m taking Anton’s team for the combined 11. Foden > Odegaard this season and Martinelli starts at left wing.

How is that a big take? Saka did have more inconsistencies at that age. He's still on the path to potentially becoming world class. He's a quality player.
I mean saka had 12 assists from left back in his debut season
???
Saka was consistent the moment he first played in the first team at 18.
Saka isn't this flashy player with ridiculous pace or ridiculous dribbling.
It was Saka consistency, his decision making and maturity that impressed fans, rival coaches, pundits.
Saka week in week out performances was why he was being praised.
People were questioning Saka ceiling and never about his consistency.
Saka biggest strength was his consistency & decision making.
People were saying he was at his peak at 19.

Saka always made right decision on the pitch, never lost the ball, great weight of pass.
Saka was playing everywhere on the pitch performing.
Saka was balling out at Central Midfield, Attacking midfielder, left back and on both wings.
Saka broke through at LW, shining there, standout player away at Old Trafford in his first PL start.
He however cemented his starting role at Left back after injury crisis to both Tierney+Kolasinac.
Saka was a smart footballer who can adapt & adjust to multiple positions & change his game for the role.
When he was playing in midfield he was naturally great with ball retention, strong in duels, good passer, gifted ball carrier and so got the team up the pitch.
Saka is great in space and recieving passes on the half turn which allowed him to be so comfortable in midfield.
Saka at Left back use to beat players 1 v1 and whip great crosses into the box or cut backs.
Saka debut season at 18 had the 3rd most assist by a PL player with 12 assists.
Saka at 19 in his 2nd season was Arsenal best player.
Saka from age 20-22 in the last 3 seasons was both Arsenal topscorer & top assist provider.
He was Arsenal best player during top 4 race, title race and now again in title race.
