Now we can see that Jerry basically played himself in the King of comedy.
Jerry had a bigger ego than Ali, but at least Ali had some charm to go with his. I am so glad he shut him up by pounding Liston - moments like this must have really added fuel to his fire.

    • @MrAsgharbukhari

Ali could back his ego up, but Jerry outside of his scripted lines showed up like a hollow, pompous, self important bag of wind that he actually was.

I don't think you know who you're talking about here. Muhammad bullied Sonny Liston before their fight so much that Sonny brought a gun with blanks when he met Ali before the fight. That was the only way to shut Ali up.

    • @Therejectionartist
      @Therejectionartist Před 2 lety +2

@@JB-rl7yl Actually I was writing about Jerry Lewis not Liston. Good that he shut Lewis up because he clearly thought Ali was gonna be destroyed, as did a lot of so called experts.

Jerry was just saying what a huge percentage of people wanted to say at that point but didn't have the guts. Almost nobody believed Ali (Clay) would win, he was an 8 to 1 underdog in the fight and his "showmanship", as Jerry called it, just tended to piss a lot of people off at the time.

    Lewis looked terrified of Alli.
Alli knew that the chemistry was bad between them and he just played with Lewis ...
Time is the greatest litmus test.
Alli was seen as a mouthy fluke at this point..They thought he would here today and gone tomorrow..
Every white guy with a Mike was telling Alli to 'shut your mouth, a minute '
By the mid 1970s , after he beat Foreman and Frazier..no-one was telling Alli to shut it..
If the interview occurred in 1975, Jerry's wouldn't be telling anyone to 'shut his mouth..
Jerry's would have shut his mouth and listened..
    RIP GRANDE CHAMPION.

Jerry Lewis called Mohammed Ali who probably became the greatest boxer of all time " a big bag of wind". That did not age that well. LOL
Most likely Lewis loss a lot of money in the future by betting on Liston.

Always disliked white people. Phoney muslim
