Thank you, FRM. I've been watching your videos for over a year and almost every day. I'm a relatively green tech; I've been in the business for 2 1/2 years now starting out as a lube/tire tech with no education and talked my way into a shady indie shop about a year ago as a "full" mechanic. Very tough place to work and it was a massive leap for me, it was like mechanic bootcamp considering I was left how to figure it all out for myself and had to teach myself almost everything with CZcams and books. I developed a lot of experience and confidence with the excess of heavy line work for used car dealers (at least one engine or transmission a week which some sketchy ex-Soviets would drop off from the back of an old Town and Country) and have obtained a thorough understanding and foundation for auto repair. I was also constantly putting band-aids on rusty beaters. My old boss did not want me to spend the time doing proper diagnosis/repairs and was left feeling like a hack half of the time. It inspired me to thoroughly develop my knowledge of specific tests to diagnose properly, and with the help of your videos I was able to develop my toolbox and cart for efficiency. Your video on when it's time to change shops inspired me to apply to a shop which does only OEM repair for a higher rate (I was hourly, now flat rate for much more). I'm much happier and am making a lot more money now. I'm grateful that I've got your wisdom which has helped me navigate through this wild business. The fact of the matter is that I love auto repair most days, and look forward to going to work and being challenged. I'm currently studying for ASE certs (my new shop pays for testing and gives me a bonus for every test that I pass). Thanks again, FRM.
Good for you. When I started my last job I was coming from a lube and tire shop. I didn't want to over sell myself and end up unemployed with a new house and baby. I was better than 75% of the guys that were in higher positions but they never had any work so I was better off staying hourly. I stayed for 3 years because I really liked the people and hoped it might change. In the year since I left I've learned more than I did the previous 3 and we have a base plus bonus structure that probably isn't as much as I could make on flat rate during the good months but I don't have to save for the slow times though. Best of luck.

I have the Epic toolbox and it’s side Locker in the same color and now I’m working on getting that tool cart and they are big and deep. I use to have a matco 4S toolbox with locker and the epic I got make it look like a tinker toy. I love it.

Hey I like it would have gotten the Epiq roller but my small work space didn’t allow for it. I think Snapon should have more accessories for their roll carts.
Is 30” too deep? I’m only 5’7” and worry about reaching stuff in the back of a 30” box. I’m also in a home garage and all my stuff (shelving, workbench) is only 24”.

NOW HE TRADES HIS RED 6 DEEP DRAWER CART FOR A PURPLE 6 DRAWER CART WITH 2 SHALLOW DRAWERS.....I LIKE THE PURPLE COLOR BUT NOT THE SHALLOW DRAWERS. I NOTICED HE COULD NOT USE HIS PLIER RACK IN THE NEW CART. SEEMS LIKE WASTED SPACE. HOPE HE'S NOT DISAPPOINTED AS TIME GOES BY.
Hello can you tell me how strong is 1/4 snap on long neck ratchet compare to 3/4. I owned 1/4 short neck and i like it,thinking of getting a long neck too
I was in the same boat. I had the krsc101 original epic two drawer cart with the add on third non locking drawer. I sold that used for 1500. I bought the kemw361 solid top epic cart (or mobile work station as snap on calls it) on a deal for 3200. Selling the cart for 1500 put that epic cart into a 1700 dollar cost….. I was able to work a deal with the rock and rock truck to swap on of the 4” drawers for two of the 2” drawers for wrenches and pliers. Then added another accessory panel to the other side. It’s a single bay epic box. I love it. I also added the drawer trays to the rest of the 4” drawers for even more storage. ( they worked on the original epic cart also) I love it. My krl1022 double stack is now mostly a catch all.
@@Freakingstang that is a steal!! I would do that if the opportunity presented itself, but otherwise I’m done with the tool debt. Most I’ll do on a truck account $3-400 at a time and I pay it off quickly. There are so many reputable brands out there that tool debt is so dumb
@@foodskewed9197 look around used. I bought a second one for 2k that was like new. I might be selling it if you’re close to Ohio. I might be changing jobs and will be limited and what I can take
That's not going to be easy rolling it under a car on the lift unless you take off the struts and fold it back or you put an extra hinge in the middle of that top to fold it back to keep it from bumping the undercarriage of the vehicle that you roll it under. Just pay me on the patents of this hinge in the middle of the top idea please Snap-On because this just became authentic world wide web news as of this post and by this date posted. Like that'll happen lol.

Once you get them moving, they roll and steer effortlessly. From a dead stop it takes a little oomph to get it rolling.

He needs more tools. Your cart isn't well stocked until you have to walk backwards and pull it!

First thing to go for me would be that top lid my old cart had a lip that double hinged so I could open it all the way and it gave me more mobility
