I lost my 19mm 3/8 snap on impact socket for 3 days. When I realised it was definitely a bad day. Next day i came in one of the other guys said they found it on the silicone gun - i had been trying to get the last out the silicone tube! I'll make sure to use a cheap socket next time!!
@@FourRingsAuto I live Albuquerque though, bad place I hate it. The guys I work with pretty much just have cheap tools. I have mostly average tools but a few expensive ones. Idk here you just never know. But yeah I don’t blame you I’m young but trying to move somewhere later

Yay. Your the proud owner of two double picks. I now own two 7/32 semi deep snap on sockets. How the original ended up in my washing machine is beyond me! Awesome video!
You should do a dedicated plier drawer video going through every single one that you use regularly and what they're good for and maybe rank them as to what order to buy them in or an essential top ten or something. You can't really see what they all are in this video. I'm sure some you see as essential and some that don't get used very often any insights would be appreciated. Big fan keep it up.
Nice setup there Mike at least your giving Toolbox and Toolcart tours unlike a certain other You tuber won't mention any names E.O. LOL Keep them coming.
That two sets of picks moment is the reason Im reluctant to buy another 15mm flankdrive wrench from snapon🤣🤣. I hate having doubles only doubles I want are the smaller sockets 8 -13mm. I find those are the typical sockets I break. Maybe the occasional 15 or 17
Hey mike can you make a video about mechanics wanting to get out off mechanic work ? I was a mechanic for 4 years for Nissan and now I am a service manager for Firestone for me it was a great choice because I no longer have to deal with the headaches that comes with the job nor do I have to spend thousands on tools and I make more money now . But I would love to see a video of your opinion !
I'm actually studying to be an automotive technician. And my college has a Nissan program that's part of the general automotive degree. So I'm probably gonna become a Nissan or Infiniti dealer tech. Is the pay any good. And do you have any tips
@@russelldimond2759 Nissan is a really good brand to work for but very strict with certifications so if you decided to become a Nissan tech I suggest that the moment you get your Nissan academy training to get it done as fast as possible . When I first got it I would spend normally 3 to 4 hours a day doing my training at home until i passed my requirement tests to do hands on training for each category . And pay well like any other job it depends on where you live but in my area staring pay is between $18-22hr depending on what’s experience you have, master techs make around $32-36hr and GTR techs make the most idk how much though . the big difference between the 770 and the 773 is the 773 has been update to a year year warranty. As for a 22 impact sanp on is still keen on selling skip sets, why get a 22 when you can buy the sae set and use the 7/8. If your a fan of the matco adv you can get both 22 sockets for under 20. the short is like 6.60 wile the deep is right around 11 bucks BDP22M6V and
So I work part time in an automotive shop and go to school as well. I don't have a Macto guy, would you recommend I go with the ADV 1/2 drive deep well, over the snap on?
I’ve been in the business for a little bit now, but I’ve newly started at a Honda dealership. With modern Honda’s would you still recommend picking up some JIS? I can’t say I’ve ever actually needed them, but would it help with some of their rotors screws and splash shield screws that appear to be #3 Phillips?
If I loose a tool at work all doors are closed and I’m on the loud speaker saying what I lost snd letting everyone know their locked in and aren’t going home till the tool shows up. It’s only happened once and since then no one snd I mean not even new dare to ask me or “borrow” any tool from me
@Bones McGillicuddy it would be but in 9 years of doing the job I’ve never left a tool on a or in a customer’s vehicle but I’ve worked with plenty of guys who leave magnetic 🧲 lights on ppls cars and they get so made since most of the time when it happens a ticket wasn’t made fully on the car so they couldn’t get ahold of the customer that was just at the shop 😂😂 That’s why I don’t ever move faster then I want to rushing and moving quickly is when you make mistakes or even worse lose your overpriced tools in a customers vehicle which isn’t only super unprofessional but it shows that customer where your head was while working on their car. Plus you leave a dirty tool inside of a car not even under the hood like I’m actually in the cabin…that’s just straight unprofessional…. I have a system and I use tons of big magnetic metal and rubber trays never lose parts or tools
Those Jeep’s fords and Toyota’s and idk who else use those lug nuts with “chrome caps” I call them, that expand and turn into 22 from 21 and 22 to 22.5...🙄 hate those things
More info on the belt wear tool? Can't seem to find any on Amazon lol. I Would like to do something better than just a visual inspection. Appreciate the videos and any help you can give me with this.
Good video but kind of long. Since most of us operate in 10th of an hour increments the video could've been split along those lines. Still liked the video would have been easier to consume with a top under the lid view then draw view. With comments on how often you reach into the draws. At least that is how I watched.
The heavier the socket the more force actually goes into the bolt because intertia of the socket turning really helps. Wish I had one the first time I did my timing on my old accord. Took two days to pull the one damn bolt (was at home with a 3/8ths electric impact which supposedly had 350lb ft of torque)
Thanks I had know idea what they where used for but that makes since. I also ain’t a professional tech anymore haven’t been since 09 did mostly suspension when I did thanks for the info
I love it when you do these videos and touch everything to tell us what it is! =) Thanks Mike for the tool prn!

Thanks for the tour. “Lost it. Found it”. Awesome statement. I have three 19mm deep impact sockets.

Amen, that's the reason we buy from the tool truck
SERVICE .
We are lazy to warranty tools other way that give it back to the tool guy
Like the ORANGE favorite color and easiest to see like KTM!
Those Gearwrench long box ends are awesome i love my set use them for everything! They are fairly tough I’ve only broke the 8mm
Matco sells 20, 21 and 22 ADV impacts in 3/8. Had to go to Capri for 23 & 24 as they’re similar length & thickness in both deeps and standards

Gray pneumatic or sunnex will do just as well
What about grey pnumatic due sockets they are very thin and not to pricy for starting out
I would go with the sunex brand because Matco rebrands them, so you’ll have good tool truck quality sockets
thank god my job replaces broken tools for the guys in the maintance department
oh those are the picks i found under a hood
Thanks for the update.
have you tried Tub-a-Towels?
Hey Mike I'm starting my new job As a Lube Tech and I was wondering which impact I should get from Milwaukee. The M12 stubby or the M18 mid torque.
M18 3/8 mid torque is the way to go, specially for lube tech
@@henryramos378 Okay! Thanks man i really appreciate it!
Dude, 1/2 impact required, you gotta take wheels off!!
A lot of snap on dealers will warranty mountain double sided wrenches.
Cause a 7/8 comes out to 22.2mm. So u got a extra 2 tenths of a millimeter to work with.
