My mom is 92 - that's a 2 year old with 90 extra years of memory and experience. I've spent a couple of hundred hours in 3 dementia wards with her over the past year, mainly watching and trying not to babysit or patronize this brilliant, giving heroine who is my mother.
From my own observations, I think Teepa Snow really gets it. She really gets it, and is the kind of genius who can distill complicated data into simple points. I've learned as much from just a couple of these parts as I did in the last year.
Let's make sure we try to stay in even exchange with her, support her.

I learned to breathing technique a long time ago for anxiety. It takes the edge off the nerves. Works great! I used it a few times when my mother (who has dementia) was having a moment and reminded myself that her “moment” was because of the dementia.

I agree! That would be extremely helpful. A series like she made for Senior Helpers would be very helpful.

Just recently..only 3 years..my mother in law..has gone from a normal life to last stage dementia..very fast..the decline of cognitive activities daily has diminished..l along with my husband ....did not know this debilitating disease was more then a memory loss disease...her husband was taking care of her by his self...she fell getting up in the middle of the night ..she fell into a dresser hit her shoulder and did damage unbeknownst to me and my husband.. with her dementia she didn’t complain too much about the pain but apparently she had torn ligaments in her shoulder she’s very frail about 75 pounds. she had surgery to repair it without us knowing the full details ..her husband thought she would be OK ..she’s 84 and now her dementia has gotten worse I’m thinking from the anesthetic from what I’ve researched .... she has two blood clots ...one in each leg..hospitalized for that...now back in a rehabilitation facility.. she is not able to cooperate or shows interest in any kind of therapy ..occupational or physical.. so now she is being released and has to go to a dementia-based nursing home.. hospice has stepped in to assist ...out of pocket expense for this place....it has done nothing... but gone from good to worse in three years and this has devastated the family and they’re all quarreling amongst each other on what Type of help she should get...some want her in her home .the rest want her in a nursing home..the husband is very stress from her condition..but I feel more stress because of his 7 children’s nagging him...most don’t go to the hospitals to even visit her...but has an opinion...I have been investigating..UTube videos and came across your...Teepa Snow...you are a gift to all of us in this Devastating disease ..I am very grateful I came across your CZcams videos ...you educate many people .. in training to learn how to deal with this ...heartbreaking disease ...thank you
