LOVE Teepa Snow! When my sweet Dad was still alive, I attended her workshop and used every bit of wisdom she shared.

Teepa, I follow you faithfully, you are awesome. I am a Personal Support Worker for the Alzheimer’s Society in Canada. I heard that peanut butter is one of the first items a person should smell. If they can’t smell it, it’s a clue their disease is progressing. Have you heard this and why?

www.alz.org/apps/we_can_help/support_groups.asp Don't feel like you're alone, it's a very difficult thing you're doing. I just lost my grandma 3 months ago after her 11 year battle.

It's fictional, but watch clips of Dominic Chianese as Corrado "Uncle Jun" Soprano from the show of the same name. He goes further and further into dementia.
"Do you want an egg? Make him an egg"
    "I don't want an egg."
    "Make him an egg."
"I just told you, I don't want an egg!"
    "Anyway, about Tony Egg..."
"Tony Egg?" (He wants say Tony Blundetto but it comes out as "Egg")
I worked with a very old lady with dementia years ago - challenging, rewarding, but she was extremely advanced and would fight her daughter and I when we washed and toileted her. Sometimes she'd pinch my arms, and try to "gum" my arms as well (she had no teeth)
Sometimes a little punch or two.
