I love how your voice drops into "secret whisper" mode when discussing activities of a questionable status. When I was in 7th grade, our Oceanography class got to go out aboard the Fury III, a few miles off the coast of Southern California, past the channel Islands. Here, we have what's called the "California Giant Sea Cucumber". A fully grown one can be 1'8" (50 cm) long by 2" (5 cm) wide - It took both hands to hold it safely.
It's amazing to see the life your hosts are living, enjoying fresh vegetables and seafood they harvest and prepare themselves. They may be farmers, but their presentation was professional looking. Once we learn of their motivations, the reason for their care becomes clear. Your voiceovers are always well done, but you really nailed this one with all the little extras you added ("Jump to this timestamp" is such a thoughtful consideration) Thanks for putting this series together, Nicole. Meeting this family was wonderful, and this is a beautiful vlog on several levels.

I can’t imagine a 2” long sea cucumber 😂 I need to google that now. They were both such kind and warm families! I often think about how I’d like to visit them again. Maybe in winter next time!
I’m really happy with this voiceover since I finally figured out the correct mic settings. Thanks for watching as always!💗

    トウモロコシを生でかじったのに驚きました。初めて見ましたがきっと生で食べられるやつなんですね。海で取った魚介類やら畑で取った野菜をすぐに調理して頂くなんてほんと楽しそう。

Amazing video! The timestamp jump for 5:38 was cute, I love seafood and like to watch it getting prepared too but I can see why you put it there. I've thought about doing a working holiday in Okinawa because I recently found out that my grandpa's Okinawan which makes me a quarter Okinawan. But Hokkaido has been on my mind recently and I would love to visit the peninsula, learn to ski and eat seafood. I ate Hokkaido scallops on New Years that my sister got from her friends parents who are seafood suppliers, just raw with soy sauce they were juicy and the best I've had. This video was really interesting and nicely put together.

Beautiful! its a dream of mine to do farm stays in Hokkaido in the summer. Were your hosts able to speak in English, or did you primarily speak in Japanese? sorry if you've already addressed this, I'm new to your videos

I do speak Japanese but the hosts here speak English! I hope you’ll stay there someday!
