Man I love that 4 stretched over the 7/8 bar at 0:44. Could’ve just used four groupings of 3 sixteenth notes over a 3/4 bar for similar effect but this makes it slightly slower, way more challenging, and so much funkier. Looking forward to seeing these guys in August!

The man who wrote it is actually our percussion director at my high school, and he told us the story behind it is that he wanted to get the rights to Bumblebee, but just couldn't be bothered so he wrote his own. It's actually an excercise, meant to replace green scale excercises with some added timing and stuff sprinkled in, and not just a cool lot tune. It's very fun to play and is probably our pit's favorite thing to play besides the show.
