- Most people have heard of Brodick, Kildonan and Lochranza castles, but what about one at Lamlash? Is there any evidence to suggest that there was once a Lamlash Castle? The answer might surprise you as we examine the case of the mystery of Lamlash Castle.
With the advent of LIDAR and greatly improved geophysical apparatus, and some much deeper research and area survey, it's highly likely the tower and related settlement will be found.
This was really well researched and presented . Problem is there are so many idiots with access to cameras and easy
edit facilities it's difficult to get your stuff noticed among the
dross . Keep it up and Good luck !
Thank you! Your comment has made my night!
Just watched The Curious Tale of
Lagville . Just as good as previous. . The name Lagville is
rather strange but obviously an
anglicised version of the original
Gaelic name . As it would have been at that period. My educated
guess ( as Gaelic speaker ) ; the
original name was almost certainly Lag a ' Mhuillin -- pronounced Lagavulin - just like the Whisky . The literal meaning is : the hollow by the mill . So , there may have been a small water
powered mill close by . ? Also similar to the village of Lagg. ( the
Hollow ) . ?
A great shame that it was demolished 😞🤷🏻
I never knew there was a castle
THAT WAS A HOTEL
I know everything about the whites
