Have you guys ever stepped on the ice with a good hockey player? I've played with/against some WHL players who weren't drafted to the NHL. It was difficult to comprehend how anyone could be faster, more agile, shoot harder, or play better positionally, and yet they were not good enough to play in the ECHL.
I played in net against a pro and he picked me apart. If my angles weren't damn near perfect he was hitting that spot. Very fast release and he out skated everyone fairly easily. Incredible that someone could be that much higher skill and not be in the NHL.
BINGO! Same here. I was at drop in hockey and two Junior B players were there getting a little extra ice time in because they were not playing regularly for the local team. Both 17 years old. They looked like first line nhl'ers up close. Couldn't believe the quickness with the puck, ease of which they got accurate and hard shots off, and their vision on the ice. I realized that the greatest move i ever made, that one time i nailed that one timer perfectly, or that one time i cut perfect edges at full speed, these guys do as a matter of course.
andyn0133 That device probably isn’t measuring too accurately - that’s just too drastic of a speed difference. Shooting higher/lower or closer to the center could have an impact on what speed is read

I’ve been playing all my life and this kid is and always will be leagues above me in every aspect of the game. I love this because I don’t think the average hockey fan understands how good this these kids/pros are and how much better they are than the average adult who plays hockey on the weekends.

HappySqrl I’ve practice with Cole Coskey (look him up) and like 2 other CHL guys for a hockey camp
