- The Disney secret history you didn't know existed. Feld Entertainment produces Disney on Ice, which has been bringing Mickey Mouse & the magic of Disney animation to cities around the world for over 40 years. Disney on Ice is currently touring Mickey's Search Party & Mickey & Freinds! Disney has always been a big part of pop culture but how did this Disney on Ice phenomenon come to be? Well, Disney characters in ice shows go back over 75 years beginning in the 1940s with the Ice Follies & Ice Capades, and they even appeared at Disneyland on opening day. But it wasn’t always a success. When they tried their own arena show called Disney on Parade, it was a disaster. So come and explore Disney’s Ice Age- A Frozen History to the success of Disney on Ice! DON'T FORGET TO LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE!*** ►bit.ly/2mfriBD ◄

I love to see more rare characters
Yay! I’m loving these series!
I love Disney and live the channel
Hi
@@president-of-the-uroh hi
The first Disney on Ice show I ever saw was Beauty and the Beast in the 1990s at Madison Square Garden. I remember it opening with Mickey and the gang doing "Fun with Music" from the Mickey Mouse Club.
Beauty and the Beast on Ice was such a great show!!!
Cool :)
@@TPMvids Beauty and the Beast was my first and favorite! I will have my program book! Even after all these years, it is still in pristine condition.
I like that Disney Ice Shows are technically older than Disney Parks.
It's an often overlooked part of the Disney experience and I'm glad that this video exists to highlight and celebrate them.
One of the last things I got to do with my mom before she died was go to a Disney on ice show. We were a poor family so Disney on ice was one of the only ways we could experience something Disney on somewhat the same level as the parks. Disney on ice will always have a spot in my heart and memory, and once the world figures out how to work again, I hope to see another show.
The first Disney on ice show I’ve ever been to was “Magical Journey” in Brazil, 2007. It was the first Disney live entertainment I ever saw!! One of the best moments from my childhood ❤️❤️
Mine was today and I’m 25
This was an amazing video. I love learning history of topics like this. I grew up seeing Disney on Ice in the 90s, and it’s fantastic to see how the shows I loved as a kid came to be.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video Michele😁 thanks for watching
I vividly remember seeing Disney on Ice and how excited I was to see Mickey and friends and many more characters. Literally such a great memory.
Some Disney On Ice shows I want to see in the future are things like “A GALAXY ON ICE (Star Wars),” “WORLD’S ICIEST HEROES (Avengers),” “MARY POPPINS ON ICE,” and “MUPPETS ON ICE.”
Star Wars and Marvel, yes,but as part of a show; not the main show itself.
@@davidleavitt835 I meant the ones I listed are separate shows
@@HunterTheHero apologies for not being clear. I would like to see a show combining star wars and marvel, not a single show for each. :-)
@@davidleavitt835 But why?
@UCYUpYrgZT9iBzQcWpFbeVFQ not denying the technology improvements that would be needed, and that they'd be awesome beyond words.
It's the fact that seeing Star Wars or Avengers On Ice, for a whole show, would get a bit old rather quickly. Neither really lends itself to a full show. A stage show, maybe, but I just can't see myself watching starfighters being held my skaters for whole show. Make an evening with a Star Wars Story(Trilogy highlights, maybe, or an original) an Avengers story, and other Disney IP and I'd see it, gladly. As a whole show idea, Avengers would work more. I can see a 20-30 Star Wars segment, with skaters in costume doing a lightsaber fight(Maul, Kenobi and Jinn would be amazing), a space fight or two, and some ice dancing set to John Williams' music.
I remember being a little girl and getting so excited when Gargoyles showed up at one of the shows. I'd still flip out now! I believe Snow White was the first show on ice I saw.❤
I figure skate, so it’s so fun to see the history! I would love to do this soon!
I’ve always loved Disney ever since I was a kid. Now I’m a figure skater. Hopefully in a few more years I will be able to be a part of this amazing show. That’s been one of my dreams since I was little.
The fact that their is footage of these old events are so cool
I didn’t think you were gonna upload today but you did!
8:03 those Dwarf costumes are nightmare fuel lol
I’ve never seen any Disney on Ice or Gone to Any of the parks but watching your videos makes me feel like I’ve been to Disney parks and Disney on ice countless times
I saw Disney on Ice on January 6 this year. My mom won tickets for it and I was thrilled to hear that. It was an amazing show and I was happy to see the Disney characters in person again!
Thank you for this video. I was working with Disney on ice from 200-2009. Beauty and the beast. Little mermaid. toy Story 2( as Woody). Disneyland adventures featuring The Incredibles ( as Mr.Incredible) it will be always in my heart. Great memories and I loved performing for kids and parents. The Best time in my life ❤️
I love history, and I love Disney!!! So both together makes this video amazing! I haven’t been to Disney on Ice in forever! I love this channel! 💙💙💙
Pocahontas was my first show but the last one I saw was when The Incredibles went to Disney World and GOD I miss the shows so much I gotta go back someday
Such an amazing video! I love to learn about Disney history so this was fantastic! I’d never known how Disney On Ice came to be until today. Sadly, I haven’t had the chance to see one of Hohenzollern shows, but I hope I will one day! Thank you, TPM, for this awesome video!
You’re very welcome!! Glad you enjoyed this little history episode!
We went to Disney on Ice every year when I was very little for my birthday. It just so happened to come through town at the same time and it was an easy way for my parents to not have to think about a "big" gift. They usually fought all the way down in the car, Dad flipped out about the possibility of getting mugged and the cost of the snacks at the venue, but it was something I looked forward to until I turned 12 and my folks told me I was too old for "that shit".
When Covid is over, I fully intend to take myself to a show for my birthday :3 And it will be great. I don't care if anyone goes with me. I'll go by myself and sit in the nosebleed section.
amazing job as always tpmvids! love your videos:)
I’m loving this series!
We always kept those wonderful colorful Disney on Ice show books as souvenirs I still have all of them to this day. I can’t remember the first one I saw but the most recent was December and we will go with children or even as a group of all adults because it’s Disney and it’s so much fun! 🤩
Amazing vid, I love when you do long length content like this.
I remember seeing Finding Nemo and Mknsters Inc on ice as a kid. I can vividly remember at the end of the latter, the whole cast skated around the ice while "taking care of business" played over the speakers (along with some banter between the characters), and confetti came down from the rafters.
Thank you for this TPM. It was heart-warming all the through for me and I almost got emotional at the end. Please keep this kind of content up. Nice job on this!
Man those early Mickey costumes are such nightmare fuel!
Haha yea they’re definitely a look
Well things back then weren't as modern as today.
@@crissyg2848 True, but they were really scary back then, however.
Amazing video as always!!! Thank you for always posting such quality content and keeping the Disney magic alive! Stick to the beat
You’re so welcome😁✨
I love these types of videos you do
Congratulations on 1 million subscribers! TPM vids, I really love your videos!
Any thoughts on a Disney on Ice show themed to Encanto & Disney’s newest films? Maybe there can be one with just the Mickey & Friends characters and characters from the classic shorts as well.
No doubt an Encanto theme section will happen
At this point Encanto’s probably inevitable. It’s almost at a Frozen level of hype right now, and I see a lot of potential for it.
The first shows I ever saw were in the "Walt Disney's World on Ice" era, when I was little: "Double Feature... Live!" and "Beauty and the Beast." I also had a friend in preschool who saw "Peter Pan" and showed me the program.
I been seeing Disney on ice for as long as I can remember and currently to this day at 24 I still go and see them. They bring me so much happiness when I need it and when I can’t go to WDW Those shows are my way to disney magic
hello TPM I love ur vids and keep up the good work😃
Great video and very informative
First and only Disney On Ice I’ve ever seen was High School Musical 1 and 2. I hadn’t even seen the movies yet at the time, so there was no deep feelings of love towards the story before I saw it on ice. But even without knowing anything about the original story, I was left awe-struck. I felt that the performance on that ice was breathtaking! And it actually made me want to watch the movies! I’m very thankful I got to see Disney On Ice, and see their amazing talent displayed.
Btw, @TPMvids I love ALL of your content! You’re my absolute favorite CZcamsr. Thank you for all of your hard work and passion that goes into your each of your videos. This video was no exception; I absolutely loved learning this history! I can’t wait to share this video with my family. Keep up the great work!
i love your videos keep it up ! 🌸
Nice of you to cover this. Now I know more history with Disney on Ice and other things.
I love disney o thanks for uploading a nother vid about it.
Your the best.
This stuff is great love it keep it up
Yes a tpm upload!!! I love your videos
This is a amazing video. Disney on Ice is forever part my childhood.
Great video! Feel like I know a lot about Disney, but the Disney On Ice- thing has definitely been overlooked.
I had no idea that the costumes for Ice-capades were used for the opening of the Disneyland theme park. Thank you for making this video with so much research! Disney On Ice definitely deserved more attention! :)
Loved this one! I remember very vividly going to Beauty and the beast and also Snow White in the 90s. Such a precious memory.
I really like your channel and learn a lot more about Disney TPM Vids you are in a lot of subscribers you are doing your best and good job
This is such great Disney history ❤️ I went to see Aladdin Disney on Ice in 1994 with my girlfriend (now wife) in Syracuse, NY for one of our first dates and it was amazing. We still talk about it🥰
I actually did get to go watch Disney frozen on ice. It was one of the best days of my life!!! I’ve never been to a Disney Park or resort so that’s the closest I’ve got to seeing Mickey and the gang
I loved Disney On Ice. seeing all of them was definitely my dream when I was a kid
My mom and I got a chance to see the first version of Let's Celebrate (currently Mickey & Friends) back in 2014 when it came near us as it was a Christmas present from my older sister. I still have the program for it as well at least a couple of souvenirs from it.
I Already Seen two Disney On Ice Show In my Country (Philippines)...It Was Fun to Watch my first Experience is 2017- Everyone's Story (100 Years Of Magic) and 2019- Mickey's Super Celebration (Celebrates Mickey And Friends).
I Missed Watching Disney On Ice Every December, Thanks TPM Videos for this Video! 💞❤️😍
TPM VIDS, I was wondering if you could do the history of Live stage shows at the Disney Theme Parks Please?😊😁
It will be great to see Encanto on Disney on Ice 😉
I remember watching the frozen one with my cousin and aunt, I have never been to any of the parks 😥 but I remember how cool everything looked. All of the lights and skating was all amazing. I hope eventually I will get to go to the parks, but your videos have filled me in on all of the cool stuff to look forward to when I do!!😊
My day gets better when Tpm uploads!
tpm uploading is the highlight of my day
For years I have been searching for specific footage from one of these shows. Gargoyles. When I was a kid in the 90's, we went and saw Disney on Ice and the story was based around Max and Goofy. At one point in the show, The Gargoyles exploded out of their statues and I lost my mind. I have been searching for so many years trying to get footage of this.
Awesome video! After watching I realized I haven’t been since I was a child and that I wanted to go again! A quick google search later and I saw that the show will be in my city this weekend- I bought tickets and I am so excited! :)
So much history in this one video!!! Love it… we watched it during our homeschool day 😁
Hello tpm vids I love your videos sooooooooooo much
TPM MY FAV CZcamsR KEEP IT UP TPMMMM!!!!!
The first Disney on Ice show I ever saw was the original Toy Story performance. I was 4 or 5 years old and was so excited to see it. I still have the old program book for the old show, as well as a souvenir toy soldier helmet that doubled as a popcorn bowl. Seeing Toy Story on Ice was definitely a core memory of my childhood.
I love your videos!!!
I think the first one I saw was Pinocchio on Ice. I also recall seeing Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Toy Story 2
This was extremely interesting you did a excellent job explaining the history kudos
Like always tpmvids is always a good time
Amazing video. Alway enjoy the research that goes into these. Definitely a bit fan but also wanted to let you know that Duquesne (of French origin) is pronounced Du-kain.
So many memories with Disney on ice, it was my first exposure to Disney in general!
This reminds me of a story my mum always told me: that a Disney on ice show was the very first show where I sat still. I was 3, a hyperactive kid who couldn’t sit still even for dinner, and who had no limits when it came to running in a park. When she bought the tickets for when they performed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she was expecting me to run around. Sitting still and being in awe with everything apparently made here confused and surprised to the point that we watched it every year until I was about 9 or 10, when there were a few shows that went to Singapore but not Malaysia (couldn’t afford flight tickets at the time).
Thank you for sharing this great history of Disney On Ice. I've had the privilege of being the Senior Director of costumes and a costume designer for Feld Entertainment since 2004 after associate designing 4 circuses and 2 Disney On Ice shows so I oversee the designing and creating of all of the Disney On Ice costumes and all costumes for the company. There is a lot of history here that I didn't know!
I was supposed to go to Disney on ice with my family this week, but It got snowed out. Thank you for posting this one!
LUV U TPMVIDS
We are huge fans of this video format! We recently featured it on our Docu CZcams section of our site. We would love to see more fun topics like this one! Keep up the nice work!
Oh dang, I clicked on this assuming it was a Disney Dan video! It's really cool to see you branching out into the documentary style
I watched Disney on Ice growing up and always enjoyed looking like my favorite Disney character and just singing the songs from the movies. Around March was the most recent Disney On Ice show I watched. And I could tell you that I was feeling like my seven-year-old self and due to quarantine/Covid it made my heart enlightened with the Disney magic I first encountered.
Good video!
Watching this made me realize that Ferdinand is still really popular in Sweden due to Christmas, despite not having gotten a new Disney apperence in ages. Ferdinand is my favorite part of the stuff shown at Christmas.
He’s such a rare Disney character!
Although technically not a Disney film, the 2017 Blue Sky version of Ferdinand is now owned by Disney since their acquisition of Fox, so I like to pretend it is a real Disney movie! (It's on Disney+!)
I love what you do
Amazing video!
Yesss new video!
I’m so glad that u made this video because Disney on ice has always been such a fab ice show💯🖤❤️🔥🖤❤️🔥 and I’ve always loved 🥰 it since I’ve been a kid , they should change them a lil more often then they do , because it seems as if they just keep recycling the same shows every other year . But either I love Disney on ice.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ if u have more you can do that would be great 😊
This is a cool pre-game history on Disney on Ice. I work at the arena that Disney on Ice is coming to And I am taking my 4 year old daughter. She is ALWAYS talking about going to Disney World. I thought she would be equally excited because she will see the characters In person 😍 They will be in Milwaukee this Thursday. I'm too excited myself 🥰 #DisneyMom 🙋🏻♀️
I loved this video a lot. I have always wanted to go to a Disney on ice show but I have never been that I remember. I have been subscribed for a few years now and your videos always impress me! Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the kind words and thank you for being a longtime viewer😁
@@TPMvids , No problem 😉
Thank you so much for making these Disney Videos I am someone who loves to learn all the fun and crazy facts about Disney I been to Disney World when I was 3 and always wanted to go back my parents said it's a lot of money but watching your videos I feel like I am there at the theme parks so Thank You TPM VIds
Hi im going to disney on the 11th! btw your the best youtuber that i know!
Me and my family used to go to Disney on ice every Christmas time. It was really a fun experience… I was devasted after we never went back.
I saw Hercules on ice as a kid and it was INCREDIBLE. I was 4 years old and their sodas were in the Hercules column themed cups just like in the movie! I wish I still kept mine, it was a pretty cool souvenir. I used to have the picture book from the show too, but I've lost that to time too. I THINK they might have sold the Hercules sandals too, but I could be misremembering that!
This video was cool for me to watch! I’ve been going to Disney on ice every year for my birthday except when cocos happened! It’s a cool event!! And it’s like a little present that I get every year!!
TPMVIDS you are the best CZcamsr ever 👍👑💖❤️♥️💖
“If at first you don’t succeed, you’re probably at the Ice Capades.” - Yakko Warner
Love this video very much and Disney on Ice is always my all-time favorite ice show 🥰❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Growing up in Ohio in the 80’s & 90’s Disney On Ice was my “Disney Vacation.” I have now been employed by Disney Parks and Resorts for nearly 25 years! The first shows I recall seeing were Peter Pan on Ice, Disney’s Double Feature with the Disney Afternoon Gang, Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin and Toy Story. A young adult living in Central Florida I saw Frozen, and just yesterday I took my 3 year old daughter to see her first Disney On Ice show, Let’s Celebrate!
Wow what a nice video, where did you get all those motion graphics and intro from?! Super cool!
YESSSSS I just saw Disney on ice for the first time with my boyfriend a month ago! We loved it!! I’m definitely gonna go see it again! I loved every second of it! 🥺❤️ I got a snow cone mug, worth every penny! 😂
This is amazing thank you for posting it😄. Can you find some footage of the great ice odyssey?
This was a very nugget of information and I've been going to Disney on ice for 8 years
i remember 10 years ago when disney on ice was on my city (in mexico) and i can remember the magic when i first went to see the performance and love it and being amazed by all the magic, 10 years later and i still love disney on ice
first one let's gooo love your videos man keep it up
Perfect timing! I just went to see Disney On Ice yesterday. It’s not Disney World, but it was fun :)
Glad to hear you had fun!!
I remember going to Disney on ice once around the 2000s. It really was a sight to behold. Even though i wasn't much of a Disney fan. But it was cool to see
Also, it's amazing to see some historical footage of Disney's ice-capades. Who knew that they were already using articulation for the characters at the time, that was unexpected
Yay more Disney I’m a huge Disney fan
