On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

that reversal at the end of the third fight was either a genius calculation or a grave mistake by the opponent
No aircraft has ever pulled 7g for two seconds.
You can definitely see where the Hornet pilot made a mistake of their own at 13:20, when they reverse after overshooting. That mistake of course proves to be fatal since GS hits a shot in the very next turn. It probably would have been better to either go up or stay in the rate fight, but I'm guessing they didn't realize they'd overshot until it was too late.
Of all the channels out their you are the only one that makes this entertaining and eventful. Your skills are better than anyone else I have seen...

Great move in the first round dude. But got smoked in the second. That's what I love about these fights. Your opponent learns from you. especially if you're flying the same fighter and he gets to choose different fighters each round. Then great moves in the third. Awesome vid man.

Darn GS, a couple of those passes with the Eagle were close enough if you had Sven's distant cousin from the East, Yuri, riding on the back of that Flanker to work on the engines, he could have literally thrown a wrench at the Eagle and ended the fight earlier.
A guns only battle royale with several other pilots would be a fun watch.
I think that's a great idea! Four pilots approaching the merge from N, S, E, and W -- all flying the same plane. Last one flying wins. That would be a very entertaining furball!

@7:30 ish It strikes me how similar the profiles of the tomcat with its wings out are to the Sukhoi, I wonder if the designers was looking at the tomcat as inspiration.
No. the wings are different and the tomcat does not have an integral wing. Flanker is most similar to an f16 but with two gondolas
@@spinningsquare1325 not the wing itself but the profile. The shadow it would cast on the ground very much is.
Though original design on Mig29 and Su27 would have had a sinusoidal shape to the wing. They opted against it because that is extremely hard to optimise and manufacture.
Hands down the best dcs channel on YT. Been watching you for a little over a year ever since the raptor mod was introduced. Not only do you provide great visual content for these aircraft’s but you’re also very informative and I take notes from your videos to apply to my own knowledge when playing.
I really like the videos where you fly Russian aircraft.
I just think that its important for people to realize that Russia does make formidable aircraft. Its not like the tv, movies or literature, where they get shot down by the dozens and never stand a chance. they are actually quite formidable and almost always comes down to the skill of the pilots.
Russian pilots are getting a hell of a lot more stick time these days too.
The Flanker is an amazing platform. The fact that it's been heavily modernized into the Su 35, Su 30, Su 34 replacing pretty much all other fighter types is the clearest indicator of that.

It's not just the movies. they also get thier misconceptions from wars with third world countries.
f15s have shot down alot of 3+ and early 4th gen soviet planes wit 40 year old missiles, flown by pilots with less than a quarter of the flight hours of the average russian pilot. US pilots manage this feat with 4+ generation fighters with the latest and greatest missiles.

I live in a military town Buford, South Carolina, and all of the F18 pilots. I talk to tell me you are exactly right. It's pilot skill how much you fly? And how well-trained you are. And the day F18 platform is still a formidible enemy.

The hornet is the absolute easiest jet to kill in a gunfight. Even the old f-5 can take down the hornet.
He knew you’re so much better at one circle yet he still choose the tomcat and won the fight.

Do you feel a significant difference between between something like the typical Western Vulcan cannon vs. a Russian GSh-30-1? I'm pretty new to this whole DCS thing. On paper, their firing rates and calibers are obviously much different, but as a casual viewer they all just look like brrrrap dead.
Well it seems u have a better chance of hitting with the Vulcan 20mm cuz of its spread. But the 30mm on the flankers and migs means 1 hit generally finishes the fight. Not always the case with the 20mm. So both have their own pros and cons
Having mainly flown the Su-27, the F-14, and F/A-18 (with the Flanker being the one I know best), I definitely prefer the GSh-30-1. It's lethal if you score a hit, and well, I find it way easier to put rounds on target with it. I find its pipper to be more stable than US ones, and also simpler especially compared to the Hornet. Maybe it's just a matter of habit, but I don't like the 20mm much.

As an Australian I am so happy to see that if the Russian/Chinese aircraft are piloted by "under trained" pilots they will fail in comparison to experienced western pilots! In short it is the pilot who wins. I do understand that this is a simulation. Thanks GS.
Can you do an in depth tutorial on each jet… and by in depth I mean enough info to take off and do BFM and BVR..
