Definitely misread impending on this one.
With Overlord of the Hauntwoods it goes:
Turn 1 = Llanowar Elves (from Foundations)
Turn 2 = Glissa Sunslayer
Turn 3 = Play Overlord, swing with Glissa, removes 3 counters and 4th counter goes at EoT
It makes sense 🤔
You also need to consider that, if you cast it with the impending, it will still ETB, which means you're still getting the Land Token
This card would be a replacement for the Triomes of New Cappena in Domain and 4C Decks alongside Leyline of the Guildpact and Wrenn and Realmbreaker
In a non-Standard environment, you could make a near infinite (not infinite because you're limited by your library) combat combo with Fear of Missing Out, a repeatable flicker and a way to give haste to all of your creatures including ones that ETB. Ideally, you'll flicker Fear of Missing Out before combat damage so Fear of Missing Out doesn't die but those forms of repeatable flicker require mana (Emiel the Blessed; Nephalia Smuggler). A more risky but less mana intensive version uses flickers that trigger off from Combat Damage (Brago, Eternal King; Meneldor, Swift Savior; Sword of Hearth and Flame).
Impending is an interesting mechanic as it now opens more space for creatures that have other permanent types.
The Wanderer was confirmed to be desparked in LRRMTG's War of the Spark: Aftermath commander video (around 12:20). She actually likes that she lost her spark because she can now actually stay on a plane.
Overlord of the hauntwoods looks great, takes topiary stompers spot in the meta, the bodies much stronger and can ramp even more, can come down as a 5 drop, and it enables domain by itself. It probably doesn't get to attack as quickly as topiary stomper but I think the card looks like a staple for green. After the core set thing comes out we'll be able to curve llanowar elves into this and have 5 mana on turn 3 as well.
Twitching Doll is a slam dunk design. I hate this card art so much and it’s so memorable for it. Creepy AF

A few things to note:
Impending gives you the ETB effect immediately, but it only removes the creature aspect from the card. So there's a way to remove them with enchantment/ permanent removal, or artifact removal if they go that route with it. This may also make proliferate cards more useful if Impending is prominent enough, since you can add counters to their cards. Id probably also expect them to use the mechanic on stuff that have static or triggered effects, and maybe some typical support cards to remove or add counters, or give cards Impending. Perhaps even some rare/mythic that does something when you add or remove time counters.
The spider toy makes spiders equal to the number of counters on it, not just the counters from its ability. If you drop it as ramp and put +1/+1 counters or effect counters like flying, you might be able to get out a spider army quickly. We just got the 1-mana frog from Bloomburrow that gives +1/+1 and gains a life, and effects like Bristly Bill.
Chainsaw might take a while to see play, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just removal with an upside that wants to be on something like Picnic Ruiner. Probably strong in a draft either way.
The Emporer creature with Convoke (definitely Wandering Emperor, it has the Planeswalker watermark, like we see on creature versions of Planeswalker), might fit in to something like Boros or mono-white aggro. If you're expecting any kind or targeted removal, you can tap those dudes for the covoke to give them hexproof. And we are likely to see a lot of tokens in Bloomburrow, and white probably gets a decent amount with rabbits being part of their color.
The red one that deals damage and stops lifegain is probably a sideboard card for anything red and aggressive, if not just mainboarded. If they chump or trade, they're taking damage, and deal with a full bolt even if their creature survives. But stopping lifegain and being a very aggressive creature is likely enough to see play in eternal formats to stop anyone from stabilizing or just shut down something like Amalia decks.
Similarly, the black removal with -3/-3 is probably good enough to run mainboard in most black decks, and definitely gets sideboarded in a lot of formats. Depending on how much hexproof and ward is around, it could be extremely common, not to forget that it can get around Indestructible and cause combat shenanigans quite easily. It just looks extremely versatile in a lot of situations, while still being decent just to kill a lot of targets.
I love Doomsday Excruciator, and I want to try building a deck around casting him ASAP lol. I feel Screaming Nemesis will quickly become a staple of post-Standard mono-red burn decks, or at least included as sideboard options. Come Back Wrong is terrific, my only regret is it's a sorcery. My friend likes the Chainsaw card and wants to get a Leatherface alternate art made for it. And finally Cursed Recording isn't so bad as long as you can get rid of it then bounce it back out from your graveyard, or bouncing it back to your own hand to cast it again later (or give control of it to your opponent when it has six time counters on it lmao).
You might know this already but the point of impending is it gets its etb early. Like a combo of suspend and evoke

It's definitely creepy.
I think impending means its not a creature until it has no time counters anymore on it. So its just an enchantment until the counters are gone.

Fear of missing out says when it "enters" not "when it enters the battlefield". Is there something to this? Does it trigger when it enters the graveyard?
Edit: several cards are worded like that. Have i just not noticed them getting rid of "the battlefield" on etb effects? Lol
