As far as Secret Lairs go, I think Resident Evil would be a perfect fit! Horror inside a mansion? Yep, welcome to RE1!
I don't care that I'm alone on this, I'm stoked for this set. I think purists should relax when they realize this is an entirely contained saga in another universe. It's the Simpsons Halloween Special for Magic. I'm stoked to shoot firebolts at UFOs.
As a horror fan I'm hyped for this set

It's just a little too neon and goofy. Stoked for it, but I wish it was 30% less Stranger Things and 30% more The Thing instead. All of the core characters look like they are at Disney Land rather than in a horror movie.

I’m loving this Duskmourn set! I just hope I can find some at my closest retail stores.
PS. I’d go to a ots but there aren’t any in my area. At least none that aren’t 5+ hours away. And I don’t trust putting financial info online.

As someone who was born in the mid Seventies, I happily admit that love the vibe and many of the artworks. Though I hope they've managed to find a balance between the goofiness of things like Ghost Busters or Gremlins and way more visceral things like The Thing, The Chainsaw Massacre or Alien for example. And you have to add all the Slashers, S. King's shadow and so on and so forth. Packed. But damn, that demon has such a beautiful casting cost!
PS: Seems like Zoja finally has nowhere to run. Who want some wolf pelt for the next winter?

I’m ready for the ALIEN VS PREDATOR Secret Lair! Also, If we get A Quiet Place SL we may get a real world John Krasinski card 😂 so begins the office subset.
Could still happen, only seen a few cards. But I really wanted more gore and nightmarish creatures. The chainsaw is cool, but I was thinking more along the lines of old surgical extraction. I'm still optimistic.

If they ever did a "The Thing" universes beyond type thing like they did with Transformers or Jurassic Park, I would lose my mind. It's probably my favorite horror movie, or at bare minimum, in my top 5. I kind of doubt they will cause it's not quite as ubiquitous or universally loved as something like Jurassic Park, but man. I'd need to collect every single card.

For Doomsday Excruciator, I'd put it in a self mill deck, then shuffle your graveyard back in after casting this
I’m just enjoying the cards I have and buying a few singles here and there for upgrades. Things are out of control.
Where is The Call of Cthulhu Universes Beyond?
Some of the artwork on the horrors are great, the heros look goofy lol, Il take traditional horrors

I don't see any issue at all with a TV being used for a collector's box and it having any serious bearing on any of the thematic underpinnings happening within the set itself. And I've yet to hear anybody talk about modern horror equivalents within this set. They keep talking about innistrad which deals specifically and intentionally in Hammer Studio. Gothic horror whereas what this set projects is slasher era type horror things along the lines of films like hellraiser the cube cabin in the woods slither insidious the babadook 14 ghosts And things that are more closely aligned with high levels of Gore unsettling supernatural, monsters, body horror and light buddy theming. By and large this the set I am most excited for and I understand there's no accounting for taste and not everything is going to make everybody happy. But I really don't get any of the outrage about this set. It looks freaking awesome

I am so upset there is no resident evil cards in this like Jurassic world in ixalan. It would have made the perfect fit. And wizards already did street fighter with capcom so it wouldn’t have been far off

All I know this plane whole deal was they were just learning the concept of the multiverse when the world ended basically like neon dynasty just subtract 100 or so years so I don’t see what the deal is also we got a chainsaw in the new capenna set

I feel It’s marketed toward people who don’t play magic in a nostalgic way to bring them (and their wallets) into the fold, and the people who do play magic will continue to buy the singles they want for their decks while simultaneously looking at this product with one eyebrow raised.

Seems that players get to enjoy the newest set for 5 minutes because another new set is being released. I will skip Duskmourn. I am not a fan of most of the artwork and of course there will be another price increase. Thank you for the video.

I think they have been ruining the game for a while now with all the ridiculous unreadable secret lair, inconsistent and ugly border treatments, phyrexian writing, crossover trash with woke injections, ... and now this is just taking me right out of the game and universe, it is absolute garbage
Bloom burrow was the only set I was interested in. Once it's here I'm checking out and don't care about anything else. I have no interest in alternate arts no interest in any other sets and no interest in any of the new information. MTG is basically dead to me
