The desperation in Zylus' voice to say that was beautiful.
It sounded like he sprinted into the room and dove for the mic to say that in time
sounded like he was waiting for this time since the day he was born.
Yep
Wait can someone timestamp it

Good thing Dr. Simon Clark is a doctor because Bouphe burned him to death.
Wait, oh, he can heal himself.
._.
I don't understand the burn. Dr Simon Clark is a doctor. Surely that was a complement. Am I dumb?

15:20 In Rythians absence I will answer this question: No, you cannot get knighted in Sweden, the power to do so was taken from the King in a reform in 1975. A person who has been knighted prior to that however is referred to as a Riddare, which is just the Swedish word for Knight. No fancy hats involved.

"Dr. Manhattan is the most powerful character in fiction... Apart from God"
-Dr. Simon Clark PhD, 2019
While that is funny, it isnt true. Plenty of people in the Marvel can kill him.
@@drsyndrome3486 too bad they all come from shitty comics
The one above all is above all.
Manhattan was so powerful he retconned the DC universe.

Nassau is an area in west germany, pretty close to the dutch border. That's what the dutch noble line is named after (at some point in the past they came from there, similar to how prussia's "von hohenzollern" nobles came from a place called hohenzollern somewhere further south).
The island is named after one of those two (both naming newly conquered places after old places and naming them after significant people was commonplace in the age of discovery), but finding out which is something i am far too lazy to try and research.
Yes, most of that is correct.
Nassau the capital of the Bahamas was named after William III of England (William of Orange) who had recently become king of the U.K.
@@Machlore Aka the point in time where the Dutch conquered the British. It's almost completely unspoken of in the UK, funnily enough. Or if they do, they call it a revolution.

I like how they’re talking about the hypothetical of Superman vs Dr Manhattan with no idea that’s one of the main DC comic events this year
Really? Seems kinda dumb, Manhattan is supposed to be able to disintergrate anything made of atoms
@@alalmalal Him being so powerful is kinda the point of the series. They're introducing the watchmen to the DC Comic Universe and using Dr Manhattan as a character who wiped 10 years of DC out of everyone's memories. Don't get it wrong I don't think they're going to de-power him. It's just all we know is the last thing Manhattan sees in his all throughout-history-vision is Supes going in for an angry punch, but who knows.

Edit: Holy shit, didn't expect to get this many likes on this comment!
I am going to be that guy. I am sorry, but I never grew out of my prepubescent dinosaur obsession.
Those dinosaurs that had feathers would have largely had a combination of feathers and a sort of scaly hide (like the image shown in the video). It should be noted that dinosaur feathers would NOT be like bird feathers, though. Feathers have evolved over the long history of Earth (and hair/fur may have in fact evolved from early feathers, though this of course would have been before the age of dinosaurs), and so the types of feathers you would likely find on dinosaurs would not be like what you find today.
A lot of them would more resemble long hairs or short clumps of fur (like down). Tyrannosaurus would have probably had more the latter than former, and this would have largely been limited to the upper leg, back, some of the sides and neck (and so it mostly would still be scaled).
I heard someone theorize that these feathers would have been brown or black (by looking at the coloration of animals that fulfill similar niches in similar environments to what the T-Rex would have) in order to make it harder for prey to spot them in the shadows of the forest. So not the crazy white hair of what was shown in the video. White feathering would have been counterproductive and would have made them too obvious to prey. If there was coloration it would have likely been to stand out to mates and would probably have taken the form of a crest or something similar. Think more an accent color than anything else.
Of course, there is still a lot we have yet to learn in regards to this. Maybe dinosaurs were in fact much more brightly colored than we have thought, but for now, based on context and extrapolations based on similar animals today that does not seem to be the case for the T-Rex.
Edit: Unrelated Note; Doctor Manhattan and Superman fighting is now a thing in the comics via Doomsday Clock.
Wasn't the t-rex determined to be less of a hunter and more of a scavenger? Therefore the colouration of the feathers probably would have been more bold to aid in the requirement of another important resource, namely mates, no?
I’d like to kinda ride off this and talk about how the classification reptile doesn’t exist, it was only based on physical similarities. Crocodilians and dinosaurs, including birds, are more closely related than crocodilians and snakes or lizards. They are now classified under a new named based on common descent, but mammals are excluded despite also descending from similar creatures.
@@FtWDeathnote Nah, that famous claim was from some faulty research decades ago. The T. rex has the strongest bite force of any animal, ever. The thing evolved to basically be a mouth on legs. It's bite force, it's huge size, it's forward-facing eyes, these are all traits of predators. If the T. rex only ate carcasses, there's no reason for it to have been so large, or have a bite strong enough to obliterate bone.
I love this comment thread so much.
So if you petted a T-Rex, would it be soft?
That got surprisingly heartfelt at the end 😊
I forgot how obnoxious this Simon Clark guy is. They always joke about it, but I don't think he ever takes the hint

“Every word you say makes you stupider”

Bouphe with the utter destruction - well played!
This session has been hilarious
It was much hotter back then, not colder by the way. More oxygen in the atmosphere and all that.
Also you can look at flightless birds like the Cassowary, they're basically almost dinosaurs themselves and the claws on their feet can tear you to shreds.
This has been non stop laughter pls have Dr. Simon Clark on more often
So far Dr Simon has been my favourite guest appearance; he adds so much and fits in well.
Wholesome outro
9:57 Xenaphobia? What kind of monster-
ITS A GOOD SHOW DAMMIT
There is a famous quote that says something like... better to be silent and thought a fool then to open your mouth and to remove any doubt.
Big bullets that goes boom
As a motorcyclist I couldn't agree more with Dr Simon Clark as bikes aren't dangerous it is the other drivers that are the problem.
You dont have to call him doctor whenever you mention him
This is one of the best GTA episodes in a long while.
Loving Simon Clark videos!

It's hypothesized that dinosaurs were intermediates between warm and cold-blooded, meaning they only produced their own heat when they needed to, like when it got a little chilly.
Every time people say feathered dinosaurs aren't scary, I imagine these people never got attacked by a chicken or a goose. Most people flip out when these far smaller birds are attacking, now imagine if its 3x your height.. feathers would make these already scary dinosaurs look waaaay bigger and scarier!
If I was the Queen I'd well knight the whole yogscast for all the jingle jams alone.
I literally died to Ben's sauropod joke at 1:34
I'm likely late in noticing this, but I love Duncan's "LEMONS!" jacket. xD The gmod references.
"there's no subtle way to make a dick joke"-Zylus 2019
Editing on point for this one
I am waching this high as hell and I’m pissing myself 😂😂😂😂
Lots of dinosaurs may have had pictnofiberous projections (think like pre-feather filaments) because pterosaurs which share an older ancestor with all dinosaurs also developed pictnofibers.
That end screen was so wholesome 🥺
5:588 Dr Manhatten can also remake his own body if it's destroyed as his spirit exists in a higher dimension somewhere.
I person that thinks feathered dinos are not scary has never been chased by an emu.
In Germany getting a PhD means that you can add "Doctor" to your name. If you manage to get more than one PhD, you can add a "Doctor" to your name as many times as you have PhDs.
Funny thing about the Dr Manhattan vs Superman debate... A comic series ("Doomsday Clock") is currently in the midst of answering that question right now (part 9 of 12 was released in March).
that "JUST LIKE PENISES" was just so excited! I'm gonna be laughing at that for awhile.
To be fair, there's something about using a bicycle/motorbike that makes a lot of people cocky on the road too. It's not just drivers that cause accidents.
5:41 In the comics, Black Panther equipped with the Infinity Gauntlet managed to hold off Dr Doom, who had the power of the Beyonders, an insanely powerful alien race. For people who don't read the comics I'll just give an example of the Beyonders' power: 3 Beyonders managed to kill basically the Marvel God's right-hand man. I think that Thanos would probably hold up a good fight and possibly even beat Dr Manhattan.
Whoever added the sound effects at 6:37 deserves a raise 😂
I'm glad there critiquing Batman V Superman. There has been a real lack of that on the internet.
Props to the editors for that “donk” when Bouphe hit the truck. I fucking died

This recording session was amazing! More DOCTOR Simon Clarke PhD. MD. MSc. BTEC

im glad dr simon clark mentioned paul dirac... he's like tesla of the physics field.
I love how they talk about how a crazy lady with a bat is supposed to take down Superman and then not too long afterwards Bouphe tries to take out a vehicle with a machete. They are both clown themed too.
Sir Nils Olav the Third (and his two predecessors) is the mascot and commanding officer of the Norwegian Kings Guard, and he's also a penguin
Dr Manhatten and Superman literally are currently facing off against each other in the comic book called Doomsday Clock.
I just wanna know where Superman was during this whole Thanos thing
I'm pretty sure you're joking cos a comics fan would know that they're owned by different companies. Superman is from DC Comics and the whole Thanos/Infinity War thing is from Marvel.
Dr. Simon Clark with the 40K knowledge!

The bible does basically say (in proverbs I believe) "if you don't talk people will think that you are stupid, if you do, they will know that you are"
There is a quote like that in there, but the more familiar version is
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt."
Which is sometimes attributed to Mark Twain or Abraham Lincoln or whoever.
Nathan Kurtz yeah that sounds more accurate, I was just remembering off the top of my head, but again it definitely originates from the bible
Which I just realized that you agreed with
There is a reason why birds are called raptors. Dinos litterally are ancient birds. And yes, they had feathers. or at least some types of old pre-feathers type coverage. They were probably not all covered in feathers, but most of them had some kinds of plumage.
