I mean yeah he's a good young Rb but in conclusion, people have to remember trent in the last 3 seasons and how much of an impact he's had on this Liverpool side. So although wan bissaka has been doing wonders this season. Its still trent for me to start simply because he will create a lot of chances. However I would suggest playing wan bissaka at Rb and trent at rm but the only problem is there's too many good cm for England as well. So for now it's trent at Rb for me.

It’ll be madness not to take TAA in the squad, he offers something completely different. His crossing ability is incredible, likewise so are his free kicks. One of the best dead ball specialists since Beckham. Whether he starts or not is a different question but he definitely should go.
Not a bad selection headache to have! I’d definitely take Trent though
its not but it depends how you solve it ! I dont trust that Southgate is gonna do the right think. Not taking TAA and Grealish is criminal.
@@jtfc7286 I agree, Trent and Grealish need to be in the squad.
The game will be decided in moments. Similar to a certain moment that a corner was taken quickly

TAA brings so much to a team who dominate the ball. With the squad that England have, if we don’t dominate games and possession there is a serious problem. Southgate is seriously under qualified. The fact that the Media virtually forced Southgate into picking Grealish sums up our national team situation
Bottled the world cup as well. Anyone who says he didn't is delusional

because he cant defend. and defending is more important than crossing as a full back. wan-bissaka is ahead of him. better defender.
Precisely. Its very good to be able to join the attack as a full back and do a good job, but fundamentally a full back is still a defender, and if he cant defend, he aint a good full back. Not every squad has gomez and vvd to cover for a full back thats lacking in defense.
I think its so unfortunate for AWB that southgates still in charge. Ultimately if he plays a back 4 awb is not gonna play because he needs someone good at attacking and defending. Walker is easily the first choice RB and the first choice RCB for a back 5. I think James will get in the squad as the back up RB and Trippier as a RWB for if they play a back 5. Personally id leave out James and take a chance on AWB and play him in a back 5 at RCB (back up to Walker ofc) or use him as a sub when playing a back 4

This is why Gary Neville is such a good pundit. His views are spot on. I would still take Trent but maybe use him in the group matches but in a semi- final or final you want your defense to be solid and let Sancho, Sterling or Mount do the creative work on the right. Later on in a tournament it comes down to defensive issues.
We don't want to sit back and defend we want to go to our strengths and attack. We've sat back for years and defended and scraped by and its just pants. He is big game player who has excellent distribution which you need against the most difficult teams.
@@thejudge-kv2jk I never said England must sit back and defend. But if you look at tournament football, in the latter stages the games are not always exciting but more about defensive qualities. Trend will have to come up against Jota, Hazard, Mbappe, Dembele, Ronaldo in the latter stages and I don't think defensively his good enough against those players.
@@rolandlundall133 Fair comment. I would say however he has played against the best in the champs league and premier league and Liverpool have won both. Its not like he hasnt performed against top players and clubs.

Neville masterclass after Trents stinker of a performance
Lol the error that Reece James did against West Brom, if that was Trent, everyone would be sharing that clip and saying he is crap defensively. But since its Reece James, it won't be shared.
Imagine saying that a PL and CL winner should not be picked. But then picking Eric Dier who has been diabolical all season, and picking Trippier who is bang average at best.
Roberto Carlos was never as good, defensively, as Cafu was at both facets at the LB, but I never saw Brazil say that he is a liability.
🥱🥱🥱🥱
Why would there be bias against TAA? Trent is POOR defensively. There will be a leakage of goals at the right if we play him.
Cus he has the most hype Trent should go but if hes against the likes of Mbappe , CR7 maybe Hazard your gonna pick Kyle Walker best well rounded RB and if we really wanna win a trophy we pick him for the big attacking threats
Because it’s one off for James whereas poor defending is pretty common for Trent
Dier is a CB, England don't have a lot of options in that area. Absolutely useless to moan about right backs not getting picked and comparing with Dier
He didn't choose trent bc of performance issues but chooses dier who hasn't been great recently and Tripper who is coming back from a 4 month ban

@@Ninoshusband18 I'm a liverpool fan but you are missing the point completely. It does not matter if he gets 20 goals a season and 20 assists, plays for Barcelona or Real Madrid. Southgate does not fancy him. What Southgate is saying to the media is a load of rubbish and is causing fans like yourself to come out and put arguments forwards saying tripper hasn't played for months, Dier is rubbish and is in the team. Jesse been on sabtical for 2 years but moves to Westham and played well in 3 games and gets a call up. Southgate should have come out and said because he is limited defensively I do not trust him and therefore I will not be selecting him. End of discussion.
Haven't missed a Mancity match this season, I know Kyle gave away maybe two pens early this season mostly to cover the mistakes of CBs. But nobody walk or run or dribble past him. I saw him recovering from 10 yards behind and making crosses into the box and sometimes dribbling inside the box. Interchanging with Mahrez or Silva and overlapping runs to the box. Very strong on the air and always bailing out the CBs. His crosses are not as perfect or nowhere near TAA, but in other aspects, Kyle is No 1.
One thing to bare in mind, technical assists alone aren’t the only key factor: sometimes a key pass doesn’t mean an assist. TAA is the best attacking fullback in the squad.
However, Trippier is a very quality RB that’s been phenomenal this season. Him and Walker know each other in those rolls they played in the World Cup. Walker’s defensive game isn’t perfect but has improved.
I think those two have to go. It then comes down to TAA, James or WB.
Southgate did pick Eric Dier so you never tell what he'll do
Dier is a born loser, shouldn't be anywhere near the squad
Set pieces were massive for England at WC 2018. If Ward-Prowse isn't on the pitch there's probably not a better set piece taker than TAA. I think any of our RBs will struggle against Mbappe or whoever so maybe enhancing our chances from set pieces is a good enough justification for being on the plane.
Ultimately, JWP must be on the plane for that reason. There's no better set piece taker and he's everywhere on the pitch.
I love Trent but before this season his defensive weaknesses were always covered by both Van Dijk and Henderson.
I think he would be great if England are playing one of the lower teams where they will have all the ball
2:37 I thought I was losing connection

Nice to see Neville be clueless again 🥴 guys a failed manager, was part of the one worst coached England sides of this lifetime but we are supposed to believe he’s a good pundit coz he has had media training and can talk well. Carra is heated coz he’s right in this debate, Trent has to go to the Euros and start, other players have been in way worse form and get called up religiously and start.
We've never seen a right back like trent, I can understand him not starting, but he'd be extremely valuable even coming off the bench
You only say this because he's in an unbelievable Liverpool system. Any RB with good attacking qualities could have done what Trent did in that Liverpool team given the amount of time and space he had on the ball. Just the fact that Robertson and him emerged as the two best full backs in the world at the exact same time out of nowhere should tell you everything. The system is unbelievable not the players. The players are great but they aren't the amazing thing. If it was the players that were truly special then at the end of his career Trent will be considered the greatest RB of all time. But that quality of football is unsustainable over a whole career because as soon as the system goes he returns to being a 'decent' prem RB. And you'll see when you look back at his career - it was Klopp's system at Liverpool that made Trent so great and not Trent's ability.
@@Anonymous-xr8hx that does make sense, but we can only know that for sure when he does play in a different system. What we know for sure is that his crossing ability is world class and given the space, in any system, he could be very effective

@@Anonymous-xr8hx so legends like Cafu are daft for praising Trent as an exceptional talent?
An accurate, concise and well explained section. Perfect breakdown. A wingnack/RB needs to be able to defend more than create. They have to be very flexible. Best I've ever seen is Javier Zanetti. TAA is awful at defending compared to the others. He leaves the team exposed and CMs have to sacrifice too much of their own play to cover him. Every attacker will love attacking TAA's side for the resosns GN gave. Carra is just bias.
Trent works in a wing back role for England with Walker behind as RCB. They did it for a Euros qualifier I think and him and Chilwell did bits.
