He has his weaknesses on the ball but he's improved quite a bit going forward this season. He's also easily the best 1v1 defensively, so taking him as an option to play against the elite wingers (Mbappe, Cr7, Sane, etc) would make a lot of sense. Thus, allowing Trent to focus on the attacking third and press from the front due to his club experience playing the high line. He needs to be seen more as a right winger who provides width options for their central midfield, or act as an overload to expose any opponent weakenesses on their left side to deliver crosses for the strikers.

He was shakey missing tackles and passes everywhere, and been at fault for big goals in deciding moments when it really matters. When Liverpool lost to Madrid people forget he pocketed Ronaldo for most of that game and kept Mbappe in check against PSG when Liverpool played them. Yeah it's so stupid how people say "oh trent is bad" just because he didn't get enough assists. He's still very decent this season and every player has a bad season but 1bad season doesn't define a player. I mean for me Kyle walker hasn't be great this season. Yes he is playing in a city side who could potentially win the quadruple but in terms of his stats it may be slightly better than tents this season but still hasn't been great. Wan bissaka for me best defensive Rb in world football atm. No argument there. Tripper for me is just average so I wouldn't really pick him. And reece James, am.... I mean yeah he's a good young Rb but in conclusion, people have to remember trent in the last 3 seasons and how much of an impact he's had on this Liverpool side. So although wan bissaka has been doing wonders this season. Its still trent for me to start simply because he will create a lot of chances. However I would suggest playing wan bissaka at Rb and trent at rm but the only problem is there's too many good cm for England as well. So for now it's trent at Rb for me.

Nice to see Neville be clueless again 🥴 guys a failed manager, was part of the one worst coached England sides of this lifetime but we are supposed to believe he’s a good pundit coz he has had media training and can talk well. Carra is heated coz he’s right in this debate, Trent has to go to the Euros and start, other players have been in way worse form and get called up religiously and start.

You only say this because he's in an unbelievable Liverpool system. Any RB with good attacking qualities could have done what Trent did in that Liverpool team given the amount of time and space he had on the ball. Just the fact that Robertson and him emerged as the two best full backs in the world at the exact same time out of nowhere should tell you everything. The system is unbelievable not the players. The players are great but they aren't the amazing thing. If it was the players that were truly special then at the end of his career Trent will be considered the greatest RB of all time. But that quality of football is unsustainable over a whole career because as soon as the system goes he returns to being a 'decent' prem RB. And you'll see when you look back at his career - it was Klopp's system at Liverpool that made Trent so great and not Trent's ability.

An accurate, concise and well explained section. Perfect breakdown. A wingnack/RB needs to be able to defend more than create. They have to be very flexible. Best I've ever seen is Javier Zanetti. TAA is awful at defending compared to the others. He leaves the team exposed and CMs have to sacrifice too much of their own play to cover him. Every attacker will love attacking TAA's side for the resosns GN gave. Carra is just bias.

Trent works in a wing back role for England with Walker behind as RCB. They did it for a Euros qualifier I think and him and Chilwell did bits.
