    We have an 18 EXL. Love the vehicle. Everything is working fine other than Android Auto. Very glitchy. Have tried several different phones, so think there is a bug in the head unit of the vehicle. Also blind lane watch engages slower than our 16 Volvo V60. Have averaged about 29 mpg on the highway. Also is significantly quieter than previous Odyssey's we've owned. And agree steering is light and secure. Hope they can get a patch for Android Auto issues.

    How does this compare with the Pacifica? Which one is quieter?
    Going forward it would be helpful for you guys to also talk about the competitors and how it compares in your reviews.

      @OfficialPrincipe Před 6 lety +3

      A lot of people likes the Pacifica. In fact, people (reviewers) rate it higher than Odyssey. It's not by a large margin though, more like, 9.5 for Pacifica and 9.3 for Odyssey.
      You gotta factor in the reliability though, it is Chrysler we're talking about versus a Honda. Don't listen to naysayers, Honda has the reliability option when you actually drive it. People are saying "honda is going down blah blah" when they don't even drive any Honda.
      Anyways that's besides the point, overall, get the Pacifica if you don't care too much about the resale value & longevity, but if you do, then get the Odyssey.
      Edit: Not sure which one is quieter to be honest. But Honda has been getting better with their interior noise.

    I have had my 2018 Odyssey for less than a month and it has been in the shop for half the time. It has had radio problems since the day we got it. Honda tech support is working with my dealership to figure out the problem and after changing out the tuner for a new one with updated software, still broken. According to my service person, my Odyssey is not the only one having this problem.

    I am a big fan of Odyssey but why they make it smaller according to the spec? The passenger volume, a number go down..... Why?

  • @novadhd

    So how does it compare with Sienna? You know it's main competitor?

    • @johnperovich1691
      @johnperovich1691 Před 6 lety +2

      Very similar. Sienna is louder, a bit harsher to drive. Floats a bit more down the road. Middle row legroom/ seat slide front to rear is MUCH greater in the Sienna. The Odyssey middle row seats slide left to right but they dont slide back very far inhibiting the installation of a rear facing infant seat with a taller driver. Both have lots of tech but the Odyssey has a vacuum and the neat camera to watch your kids on the front screen. The Sienna has the surround view monitor and all wheel drive. The Sienna likely has better incentives, Honda absolutely sucks at incentives and you will pay for your Honda name badge.

    Total rear suspension design. Overall witdt is less than the 4 th edition but you can still carry a 4 by 8 sheet .

    Idk why they always do the top trim of the odyssey they never test drove ex or exl with the nine speed I’ve been wanting to see how they
    Perform.....but it is just a van

  • @oldtwinsna8347
    @oldtwinsna8347 Před 6 lety

    The MPG's aren't going to get much better because the previous model used VCM, just as this does, deactivating 3 cylinders to save fuel. But you can only lug an engine down so much & no matter how sleek these looks, they are basically boxes on wheels that have to break through the wind.

    My Nissa Quest 2015 has CVT and give me 27 highway miles for my last trip for last trip. In the city it's give me a 23.9 miles per gallon. I like it Honda direct injection not give any fuel economy advantage include this more moving parts 10speed transmission. I don't see any reason for new engine and transmission on paper.

    Buy an LX and save money. The LX has plenty of stuff to make it a good mini van.

    YOU DONT NEED TO WAVE YOUR FOOT.
    Simply do a “kick” motion under the center of the bumper and BOOM. It’s opening. 🙄
    Who is this host? So many small but major details he fails to sell on the vehicle.

      Soccer moms drive Tahoes. People who aren’t insecure drive minivans.

    • @johnperovich1691
      @johnperovich1691 Před 6 lety +6

      Yaaaa. The soccer moms are crusising in the Suburban, Range Rover or Tahoe. The minivan is for people who are secure and confident in their needs. Statistically, it bests those large SUV's any day. Geez, people need to get over the stigma. I would rather spend 50k than 70 for a Suburban, get a vehicle with sliding doors, lower ride height, easier to load rear and all around better driving dynamics any day. The thing has a camera to see your kids in the back seat! A vacuum! Sliding left/right middle row. SUV's cant compare.

      remember when Honda was killing it in the 90's, couldn't be touched even in their luxury brand Acura...now acura is all but dead, you never see them on the highways.

    • @itzmando
      @itzmando Před 6 lety +2

      Not sure where you drive around or live. But I see tons of Acura's on the road of all vintage all around Southern California. Plenty of current year models on the road.

    • @ro0ster648
      @ro0ster648 Před 6 lety +4

      Honda reliability has gone down a lot in recent years. I guess it is because they are focusing more on practicality and tech lately, while Toyota has remained conservative by still only using tried-and-true tech with of a bit of extra sporty handling and look. The Koreans have been focusing on reliability and brand image, and have been putting off fuel economy aside after their fuel economy scandal few years ago. Lastly, Honda's financing and incentives are not nearly as good as Toyota, Kia, or Hyundai.
