    Mr Jay, There's no need to chemically castrate the poor with synthetic, carcinogenic sex hormones.The British Medical Journal reported that among more than 19K poor people using NFP in India, there was a pregnancy rate approaching zero. Secondly, it's worth noting that the Catholic Church does more for the poor than any charity on earth. In terms of wealth, Harvard has an annual operating budget five times that of the Vatican.

      And, sadly, the elites control and oppress the poor in other countries And in America.
      Fact: Margret Sanger and the democrat party started planned Parenthood and liked eugenics as they saw the black people and the poor people of all races as inferior and a burden on society and wanted them to kill off their own babies so they don't have to...

    NFP worked for 19,000 poor people in India. It works, but people who lack self-control often assume others are incapable of it. The poor deserve more than condoms. Contraception doesn't make them rich, especially when it's their kids who will care for them as they grow old. Yes, there is corruption in the Church. There are weeds along the wheat. There was corruption at the Last Supper, but I won't leave Peter because of Judas.

    You still have not replied to why the dozens of scientific sources I mentioned are wrong. Are they wrong because they disagree with what you've always assumed?
    If the Catholic Church was ever the Church that Jesus founded, then it always will be. If the Anglican Church was founded by Christ, why are they so silent on abortion-causing drugs like the pill?

    MrJayguess, I am one of those people who listen to Jason. He is proclaiming truth. I choose to abstain. There are people in the world that choose to abstain. So offering a "cheap way out" is choosing to give in to yourself. There are good people out there. And a great reason why people feel guilty after they do sexual favors is because they know it is wrong. This is God's way of telling them what they are doing is not the right thing. This is why Jason is speaking. He speaks for Christ.

    Actually, one of the functions of the pill is to cause the embryo to fail to implant. This IS an abortion. I know all about RU486 and the MAP, and I'm not referring to them. Just google "Postfertilization Effects of Oral Contraceptives and Their Relationship to Informed Consent," and you'll see what Protestant pastors never preach about. If only they knew the truth, could you imagine how many unborn lives would be spared?

    15% failure over repeated acts of intercourse dwindles to serious risk in no time. Again, regular cycles are not necessary for effective use of NFP. See naprotechnology. You can't keep using arguments that are 20 years behind the research. Also, HPV risk is NOT reduced 70% by the condom. Please give me your source, because the CDC says the condom does not offer anywhere near that level of protection. Please read my article "Why don't condom labels say anything about HPV?" at chastity.com.

  • @jasonevert
    @jasonevert  Před 11 lety +1

    You confused the old Calendar Rhythm Method with NFP, which is 99% effective, and works for every woman. See P. Frank-Herrmann, et al., “The Effectiveness of a Fertility Awareness Based Method to Avoid Pregnancy in Relation to a Couple’s Sexual Behaviour During the Fertile Time: A Prospective Longitudinal Study,” Human Reproduction (Feb. 2007). Condoms offer 85% risk reduction with HIV, but inconsistent condom use is not protective, and that's why safe sex has been a global failure. 96%? Source?

  • @jasonevert
    @jasonevert  Před 11 lety

    Only self control can stop HIV. Condoms have been a failure globally, especially among the poor. Please, go to chastity.com, click on Q and A, then Birth Control & read, "What's wrong with shipping condoms overseas to help with the AIDS epidemic?" As you'll see, "Twenty years into the pandemic there is no evidence that more condoms leads to less AIDS. Over a lifetime, it is the number of sexual partners [that matter]. Condom levels are found to be non-determining of HIV infection levels.

  • @jasonevert
    @jasonevert  Před 11 lety

    Or, perhaps corruption has led to the rejection of doctrines. Unfortunately, I think we have to admit in all fairness that the Church of England has a pretty clear history of that. Nowadays, the modern acceptance of contraception (which the reformers rejected), has spread to further moral degeneration.

  • @jasonevert
    @jasonevert  Před 11 lety +1

    To see the historical and biblical evidence for these dogmas, see catholic.com. Click read, and then tracts. I find the evidence there far more convincing than protestantism. If the NT commands us to hold fast to traditions, even if they're not explicitly in the bible, who is to say what those are? The premise of sola scriptura is unbiblical. In terms of something being evil if it causes suffering, I assume you're opposed to the carcinogenic and abortifacient birth control pill?

    If you want a secular source, see pop.org. The solution to poverty is not to merely reduce the # of innocent poor children, it's to reduce the number of corrupt, rich, politicians. It's naive and simplistic to think that kids are starving because there isn't enough food to go around, or that their countries would have more food if they had fewer mouths.

  • @jasonevert
    @jasonevert  Před 11 lety

    I authored the article. Is it wrong b/c I'm Catholic? If so, nothing I offer to you would be of use in our discussion. The article offers evidence from numerous peer-reviewed scientific studies. You replied to none of their findings, but discredited them all because I go to Church. This is an ad-hominem argument. If you think Planned Parenthood, the African Journal of AIDS Research, The Annals of Pharmacotherapy, etc are all wrong, disprove their findings instead of going after my religion.

  • @jasonevert

    You didn't reply as to why you won't speak out on millions of lives that are being lost because of the pill. If you can't explain this in 500 characters, there's a problem. In terms of the dozens of sources, I'm referring to all the research I put into my article "What's wrong with shipping condoms overseas to help with the AIDS epidemic?" There are 45 endnotes to valid sources. I base my case on them, and need to know why they're wrong and you're right.

  • @jasonevert
    @jasonevert  Před 11 lety

    "The Humble Little Condom" is not a scientific source. The gold-standard for the real figures is the textbook "Contraceptive Technology," and it puts the failure rate at 15%. Besides, the condom offers very little protection from the #1 STD, HPV, which has killed more women than AIDS.

As for the poor, your objection sounds like Judas (John 12:5). What organization does more for the poor than the Catholic Church?

    There is corruption in every Christian church (including yours) because there are sinners in every church. This has been the case for 2000 years, just as there was corruption in God's OT Church, Israel. But it was still HIS (warts and all). The fact stands that the Catholic Church does more for the poor globally than any relief organization or denomination. Our schools, orphanages, etc... are all a part of the Church as much as the most corrupt Catholic is.
