- Let's review the improvements in version 0.3.0 of the Working Title team's G1000 NXi mod. Map and Brightness settings are now remembered per aircraft, custom/user waypoints transfer to the NXI's flight plan, and it now supports parallel and teardrop entries in procedures. Yes, Kip deserves tons of likes for these updates vids. Honestly while they (WT) released 0.3 my 1st thought was - Kip will sum it up in short vid soon and here we are. Thank You Kip, love your vids :)
You deserve thousands of likes, my friend, n time I'm sure they'll come! Great work!
Thanks so much for this very informative video!!
Those are actually some really handy updates 👌
Can't wait to see these on G3000.
Try the WorkingTitle g3000, its the same level of detail
Thanks for the update.
So glad we have this mod available early on console. Huge improvement over the default.
I have noticed the L&R fuel indicator on the DA40NG is the reverse of the RL aircraft. More of a nit pick than anything.
Agreed. Hopefully it is the first of many great improvement mods available on the Xbox marketplace!
@@njyde From what I've heard, most of the payware aircraft will come. It makes sense, profit wise for these companies to transfer them over. What worries me, is free mods, such as the performance and system tweaks to the standard aircraft.
My favourite to fly at the moment is the DA40NG, but the performance doesn't match up to the real aircraft. There's a community mod for this aircraft to fix that as there is for many of the others.
I really hope they bring that stuff over, but I doubt it as they're not obtained through the marketplace, even on PC.
@@cheesetoastie9678 Yeah, it sadly does not look good for freeware. I'm most concerned with the other Working Title mods, FlyByWire A32NX and PMDG. I reached out to both WT and FBW recently. They both stated that once the mods are available on the PC Marketplace they will take a look at Xbox.
@@cheesetoastie9678 It is a big problem IMO. Since the success of the Xbox platform in the long run for the more enthusiastic simmers will greatly depend on the availability of these incredible community mods and freeware in general.
@@njyde Couldn't agree more, same goes for the good payware aircraft too.
The player base will dry up on xbox, once the buzz has died down, people flying over there house and all that. The people left will be the hardcore people, they need to cater to this area. None of this console players and short attention span nonsense.
For example, I was a hardcore flight simmer back on PC over 10 years ago. These days I'm a console gamer, but I'd have no issue flying a study level payware aircraft, even with a controller. So here's hoping they don't avoid bringing that stuff over for fear it's too complex for us, that's the type of stuff the players who will stick around actually want.
Nice Damascus plane!
Hold entries contain still bugs, but I trust will be fixed. I did a HOLD entry for C29 LOC DME Rwy 10 and it entered the hold correctly, but then ,after crossing the extended runway centerline, turned first opposite direction and then headed back to the extended runway centerline and the proceeded to the rwy. So instead of flying a teardrop hold it made a figure 8 . Reported in the WT Discord channel
Is there a setting that gives the large FltPln screen? I (still) only get a small rectangle in the lower right. Huge thanks for your videos!!
Use FPL on the MFD (the right screen) and you’ll get the larger flight plan window. If you use it on the PFD it’s a compact size.
@@KipOnTheGround THANKS Kip! I've always used the PFD FltPln.
Is there a reason why the WT G1000 mod has the FPM/Velocity indicator, but the WT G1000NXI doesn't?
Are you able to pan the map with this latest update? I tried and couldn't get panning to work, only zoom.
No, still only zoom so far.
It doesn't work , even in the LOCK mode. I see the joystick move around, but map stays still.
Yes pan would be handy.
NXI on console breaks the external view HSI, I’m still 50/50 on keeping it on
(Edited for clarity)
Also sometimes it bugs during the approach
If think they would fix that first it’s pretty important
How does it break it? I haven't noticed any issue, but I don't use the VFR map much at all.
The only visual bug I've noticed is that sometimes the rendering of the GPS is messed up, the terrain is all garbled. That isn't a NXI bug though, was there before.
@@cheesetoastie9678 The VFR Map is fine. The external HSI, the compass in the top left, is stuck on VOR 1 no matter what I select in the cockpit. It’s not the biggest deal because any true navigation is done in the cockpit but sometimes I fly outside to catch a nice view and it would be nice to know The GPS is on track
@@PhotonBread I see, I have the external HUD turned off, so that explains why I never noticed it.
Can someome tell me how I can find airport information (e.g. nav freq) and use OBS on the garmin 1000nxi? It seems like my OBS button is greyed out?!
Thanks in advance
OBS isn't functional on the NXi yet, so hopefully we'll see it in an upcoming update! The "waypoint" screen also isn't done yet, which is where you could look up airport info and frequencies. Lots of stuff to be added, but even in its early state, the NXi is really nice to use IMO. Since MSFS updates its marketplace every week (usually Thursdays, but sometimes Fridays lately), keep an eye out on those days for NXi updates too.
Are you able to show how to load holds into flight plans? I can't seem to do it, and the option is greyed out in the g1000 menu in-game.
That function isn't in the NXi yet, but they're adding a lot with every update, so I'm sure we can expect it eventually!
@@KipOnTheGround Thanks for the reply, that makes sense. How did you get the hold patterns in your FPL at 2m44s (after HOVLI)?
Is it possible to enter a hold for an on route waypoint?
Not yet, but there is a grayed-out option in the MFD's MENU screen for "Hold At Waypoint’". So I think we can expect that capability eventually.
@@KipOnTheGround Thank you
