Thank you for watching. - Jak na to + styl
I love how you keep upping the ante in the custom end of the business. Exciting stuff!!
As a still relatively new watch collector I really appreciated this video. Thanks Mark
Thanks for the Watch and Learns Marc. Very appreciated.
This is my first time hearing about Sapphire bezel inserts. Very cool.
Glad to educate!
Thanks so much for your series Watch and Learn. Some channels are just basically hucksters for Jomas Shop or Ali/ Banggood, whereas, not only are you an online retailer, you share the why without being a snob. Neither do you clickbait with false watch rants. Much appreciated. Your channel plus Teddy Bs. Channel are the best. The rest are Chinese watch knock offs--lol. Well done sir. Oh except Bruce Williams. His macro game is next level. Yep
A few months ago, I had the inserts and crystals on my Seiko SKX and Sea Urchin replaced with ceramic and sapphire. The watches were only 6 and 3 months old, and the Sea Urchin is my everyday work watch as a chef. Interestingly, the original bezel was almost ready to fall off from ingress of cooking oil, presumably. I've kept the 3 month old aluminium pepsi bezel as it has a nice scratched and worn patina to it, but I now wash my work watch daily under warm water to hopefully remove oil, as the adhesive used doesn't seem able to handle much.
Very nice! I really dig the Watch & Learn series.
Thanks!
I bought the blue Islander. It is stunning. It is also very cool at night!
Thanks Marc! Just the video I was looking for to brush up on my knowledge of bezels (I'm currently trying to decide between a titanium and a ceramic bezel for the upcoming Hamtun H3 release)
Very cool bezel inserts, especially the backlit sapphire bezel insert! 🌟⌚️😎
Thanks, Marc, that was a good video on bezel inserts. I did not really know about the Saffire ones.
Thanks Scott, glad you enjoyed.
Love the educational videos!
Thank you, me too.
Liked it so much
That "radioactive" look on the blue islander insert is amazing.
LOL :)
Thanks for another great video and I love my blue Islander! Cheers!
Thanks Jay.
Thanks Marc!
You are welcome.
Very educational video -- thanks! Fascinating to hear about the manufacturing process for sapphire bezels. Would be great if you decided to sell sapphire bezels in red, orange, green, yellow, and gray as mod parts. And/or offer them as part of a "Your Islander Your Way" program.
It would be cool . . .
Love the sapphire bezel on my Seaforth, nice to see them being offered in the Seikosphere now.
Thank you
I love your watch & learn videos. Would it be possible to make one on how to properly wind hand-wind movements? I want to get one, but I am a little hesitant as I don't wanna break it from over winding, so knowing how much to wind it would be very helpful!
I have one of your Pepsi lumed ceramic bezel inserts. Yours was the only red I liked. Most were a burnt orange color. Also got my coin edge bezel from you for my mako 2.
Hooray! Sapphire/ceramic bezels are on the way for the Squale 1521. Thanks, Marc, for your advocacy on this.
Welcome!
@@islandwatch I am also very excited about this!
That blue Saphirre bezel is very cool, no wonder the watch sold out.
I hope there is a 38 mm Islander with a saphirre blue bezel.
Thank you.
So you're telling me there's more to bezels than this?
Very good video, thank you Mark
Thanks!
I was just looking at the triangle marker on my ISL05 insert the other day and wondering what would happen if I accidentally dragged something sharp across that filled-in lume space... It would scratch! The sapphire inserts you had made look absolutely fantastic.
I love that sapphire blue
Me too, thank you.
Really like the Yachtmaster insert but will leave my SKX alone as it’s still pretty new. Good video though Marc.
That "flawed" sapphire insert actually has an amazing effect.
That blue and grey islander is gorgeous, any chance of you making the smaller sized islander in this color way?
Awhhhh, I was really looking forward to hearing how one would go about choosing the right bezel insert size. It’s a cheap crappy watch I got and thus the bezel fell off one night at work.
Thanks, Marc.
Love the instructional videos.
I always look forward to them.
Do you know if the SKX-sized inserts would fit my 300m Tuna (SBBN033)?
I’d like to purchase one,
but need to confirm they’re the same.
Sapphire over ceramic for a tuna?
Thanks, and keep up the excellent videos.
Hey Mark, great video! That coke sapphire insert looks amazing... Any plans to eventually sell those on the website?
Probably.
Does the SRPD bezel/bezel insert match the SKX bezels? (Looking at your options now to replace my scratched SRPD bez insert.
I have noticed that the markings on the lumed ceramic bezels are slightly sharper than the sapphire bezels I have, due to the back painting of the color and markers on the sapphire.
Great explanation.
I'm just curious. How are the ceramic and sapphire bezel inserts package during shipping?
Are they placed in a protective case? Thanks in advance.
Thanks Marc, I needed that. You’ve answered some questions I’ve had rolling around in my head! I have a Sinn U1 SE The bezel does not appear to have an insert. The numbers are painted in relief but do not glow. The bezel is Tegimented submarine steel so it is quite hard.
John Brabant Marc owns the same watch I believe. I own it as well and love it.
That's what I got :)
Ha! Did my Islander Batman mod inspire this video! ... Lol Now considering ordering another coin bezel/ceramic insert from you for my 009.
This was filmed a while ago. But I love seeing what people are doing!
Hi Mark. Love your content! I know this is an older vid, but I was hoping you could help me find a lumed ceramic replacement bezel for my Orient Mako XL FEM75003B9. I am upgrading to a double domed sapphire crystal, and I would love to add a lumed ceramic bezel, but I can’t find one at any of the mod sites. I hope you can help.
The Ceramic lume is much clearer. The Sapphire lume is a tiny bit brighter but seems blurry, probably from too much lume and 'bleed' - get the same effect from flashlights that don't have the reflector properly sealed and get light bleed. Are the Long Island sapphire bezels domed? I really like that effect with the Steinhart lime green diver. Great video.
im looking for a grey ceramic bezel for the new seiko sumo 200m.
Marc, would you have a lumed bezel insert to fit the SUN065 PADI kinetic GMT?
A few days ago ordered an all black Islander, with the luminous bezel, in all black. Don't think there's much that compare for $350, of course that includes the support from your company. Really didn't want a bracelet, and quite sure that strap you provide will serve me well. I also like Random Rob's review of your blue and white Islander, he did a great job, and one of the reason's I decided on having an Islander.
Thank you, Michael.
The worst damage I've ever done to a bezelinsert was to a lumed ceramic one. Broke in 3 places and scratched pretty good aswell.
Never really scratched up any of my aluminum ones. If there was a aluminum one on instead of the ceramic I've scratched, the result would be a scratched aluminium one, but it'd be cheaper to replace...
I like the Detroit Lions bezel.
Thanks.
Mark, where can we get the embossed ceramic inserts??
Mark! when will that red and black sapphire be available on the website?
Please how to order the correct size insert replacement. Thank you!
Good overview on the sapphire inserts. Never really understood the advantage of sapphire over ceramic. Nice job of showing how you can customize colors with back painting. Thanks for sharing!
And thank you for watching.
Mark can u do a video on how to mod a bezel on a stock turtle, recently bought one but am afraid to mod it to a lumed one
Hello, i am looking for a Bezel Insert replacement for my Tudor Pelagos (blue).
Pls help
I was really hoping to find out what the difference is between a flat bezel insert and a slanted one. Is there an advantage to either? Do they install the same way?
Hi, why is the insert on my sea urchin have a dome effect where as the insert from a SRPD79 is completely flat?
do you know if bezel insert glycine airman can be purchased? instead of the 24hour, i want a 60 min countdown ?
I have the Mako II and want to do the Seiko bezel update along with the sapphire update. But i also want an Islander. UGH!!!!
So many choices.
Do you do Domed Sapphire Bezel Inserts?
More awesome content...so you're teasing us with your blue islander?
Do you know when they'll be back in stock?
Should be this week.
I would like to change my insert.. how do I know the size to buy? I have oris tt1 diver..would you happen to know? Its the 44mm case
By the way, for the orient triton?
Question can you replace an aluminum insert on a citzen fugu ( not the bezel just the insert)
Do you have inserts for Casio Duro
38mm islander bb36 style plsssss
7:55 for some reason something you said here caused my Google assistant to pop up. Lol
Whoops
Marc are you going to do an all blue sapphire bezel without the grey?
I do, on the white dial Islander.
Thanks for the bezel info Marc! I have ceramic ones but not any sapphire ones.
Would ceramic be more apt to crack over sapphire? 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Installed, I don't think one is more prone than another.
Long Island Watch Thanks!👍🏻
Something like Aragon watch?
Who is making the sapphire bezel inserts? I need a replacement insert made for a vintage Seamaster and am having zero luck
Thanx Marc!!!! GMT in the works?
Not yet.
I need inserts for citizen promaster ny0040
please HELP! can't find a glycine combat sub 42 bezel anywere :( any idea's? SOS
I'm not sure what this video was about .. because I spent the first few minutes admiring the clock top left !!
Learned :)
Marc, why don't you sell the math watch in your store as well?
Not in my wheelhouse.
Timex T2M517 watch parts video please
Make seiko monster kinda bezel for skx .....
Late to the party. So is the lume material exposed to the elements on the ceramic bezels?
Need a bezel invicter 177884
I don't get the patina subject. Example, if you owned let's say a vintage Ferrari would you like it
A, pristine condition with minimum defects ?
or
B, scratched paintwork, ripped leather seats, curbed wheels and a aroma of Vomit.
I'd go for A every time.
I think patina is used when it suits.
For instance if you part x a watch they check for any slight imperfections, minor scratches, dings, crystal damage, band stretch and so on. They will then give you a reduced price and indicate it's been well used hence the lower price offer.
They will then sell it as used with the selling point of patina is a wonderful thing that indicates it's history, I just don't buy into that.
Great video man.
I can see a whole market of color combinations for university colors
So, am I right in that sapphire also has a "reliability/longevity" advantage in the lume, because it's not "exposed" to UV or whatever, unlike ceramic would be ... given that the lume in ceramic is installed on the _front_ side? I'm not explaining things well tonight, sorry.
Also, related side note question. The bezel inserts for the SNZH "Fifty Fathoms" Seiko homage have a *gloss* to them. Do they have plastic on top of an aluminum bezel? Or ... are they acrylic bezel inserts, like way-back-when? (It's my understanding that what's old is new ... that old watches with acrylic bezel inserts could have lume on the numerals? Vietnam-era Benrus military etc.)
I think the SNZH is an acrylic.
The exposed paint on the ceramic is exposed to UV, but it doesn't patina like tritium paint used to.
HI EVERY ONE...PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR INFO ABOUT GLYCINE COMBAT SUB GL0087 CERAMIC BEZEL INSERT.WHERE I CAN BUY IT? WHAT SIZE? THANKS BEFORE FOR YOUR INFO
Great video. How do you affix the insert tot he bezel?
Sticky tape works great.
Minit watch has lots of videos modding watches.
@@islandwatch Like 2 sided carpet tape? Thank you.
When are you getting the white dial light blue bezel islanders back in? Good looking watches man. 😃
This week.
Nice I get paid this week. I will be picking one up sir. 👍🏻
Ordered the ISL-10 today sir. Can’t wait to get it on the wrist. Look out for a review. Such a good looking watch.

Don't we sell those already? Product C15
@@islandwatch Should have clarified. Sapphire 12h Pepsi bezel inserts
Islander MONSTER in blue and white maybe?
An islander monster would be awesome!
Can't ripoff the entire catalog :)
@@islandwatch Just one more watch?
Call me old school but I love aluminium and how it ages over time
Angled bezel?
Flashbacks of 'nam @4:05 😂
With Ceramic bezels can the lume be damaged since it is exposed? Just a curiosity
Yes, it can.
Have you got bezel for orient kamasu or bezel insert?
No, sorry
@@islandwatch in the future it will be available for purchase?
I want 40mm automatic with double dome watch
Make it happen mark.
Presto!
Why sapphire? For a different look or is it easier/less expensive to produce?
I have to ask, did you watch the whole video? I did explain it.
Long Island Watch Sorry I must not have been paying close enough attention. Ill watch it again.
Ok so easier to paint and lume the sapphire, thanks
Sapphire is a type of ceramic.
The only thing I don’t like about the ceramic and sapphire inserts is the gloss finish. I’m sure the pros outweigh the cons.
You can get ceramic in matt - lightly brushed look. My Christopher Ward vintage has an excellent bezel; no sheen at all.
As pointed out, they can be blasted to remove the sheen.
The problem with ceramic is after a couple of months the paint starts falling out of tge numbers.
Triton insert?
In process still.
Marc... your link is broken in the video description.
Thanks for that; fixed!
Anytime!
Mr.Bean!
6:54. “An anular ring”. Sorry, but when was there ever a ring that wasn’t anular ?
"are you looking to buy a quality watch for under 200 bucks?"
Will this fit a 38mm?
