If the miss alignment is only small (say a fraction of a click) one other option is to pop the bezel off and warm up the glue under the insert using a hair dryer. Once the glue is warm you can use your thumbs to move the insert a little. Then it cools down and resets in its new position. That’s the method I’ve used on two Seiko prospex’. Worked perfectly
yes dude! that glue is the key... so you can micro adjust after you put it on. thanks, I have to do a deep blue bezel now. i dont understand why these companies cant do it. they have excuses like, "well, its only a $200 watch... what do you expect?" i freaking expect you to do your damn job after I give you the $200 bucks, thats what i expect. man...
Great video. After watching this, I honestly feel like I'd be able to confidently give this a go myself. I love learning how to do these things myself and video's like this are great for that. Thanks.
Easiest method is to put the watch face down in a solvent like Grip Solvent which is used on golf clubs, but I'm sure there are others. Put a small amount in a glass or even a plastic cup as it won't dissolve plastic, just enough that the bezel is immersed. It will remove the double sided tape but not degrade gaskets. Leave it for a day and the insert pops right out. No need for tools that can potentially damage the case. Clean off the old tape residue and then replace the bezel as you've shown. I think Marc at Long Island Watch might have made a video on it. Either way it's a far better method than removing the bezel unnecessarily.
Helpful video, very clear to follow. It's such a shame Seiko can't do it right the first time. Genuinely has completely put me off buying any more Seiko's, too many bad experiences with this alignment nonsense.
Seiko is going to have Lucas electrics style jokes formalised. “What do you call a Seiko that lines up correctly”? “A fake”. Or “How can you tell your Seiko is authentic”? “When it’s movement is all over the place and there is dust on the dial”.
Hi, I am curious about the cement - will it not bind the bezel with the insert permanently? What if I want to service/replace the bezel insert later on?
I know its only small Tony but if its your only watch you look at it every day and everyday it stares you face at they couldn't get it right , Bit like having a picture on the wall which isn't square and of to one side, just no I say lol
Nice work but of course Seiko should have aligned the thing in the first place. My Arnie is bang on, as was my Shogun but my Turtle is a gnat's chuff off. Not enough though for me to follow your example. Seiko really need to check their QC and regulate their mechanicals but seemingly, they're not too bothered.
I think its because they are one of the biggest watch manufacturers in the world, Time is money so being many of there watches are under a 1k they don't have the time to check them correctly thats why bezels are misaligned and timekeeping cant be all over the place

LOL, you make things difficult for yourself. Simply poor boiling water over the bezel. This softens the adhesive. Then with some pressure push the insert. I have done it several times, and it works a treat. PS your sound went at 7.00
Did you do remove the bezel first before pouring boiling water then pushing the insert? Or did you pour boiling water on the bezel while it is in the watch then pushed it?
It was over to the1 o'clock side you can see at the start of the video, the owner asked me to fix it for him as it was driving him mad, PS I have another Laco review coming out again next week
@@ClickSpringReview the promasters have applied markers and are more well done overall as well as iso sertified divers, also half the price and impossible finding one with a missalined bezzle. The movements preform better too.

Now you have corrected it no one will believe it’s a real Seiko.
So true LOL
LOL
🤣
Swiss made counterfeit
This is normal for Seiko 2 years on and its still the same

Exactly Lewis there is no excuse for it 👍🏻
The issue isn’t exclusive to $200 watches, I’m here after buying a $1300 seiko with horrible alignment
Yep its across the broad with the brand
У нас в Украине они стоя 600$(((

My srp777 is ok, but it's very helpful to know this good job ⌚

Great video’ helped me have guidance for changing the bezel insert and gasket in my turtle. Thanks!

Hi, I am curious about the cement - will it not bind the bezel with the insert permanently? What if I want to service/replace the bezel insert later on?
Nope you can still remove it if needed just drop the bezel bezel in hot watch should soften it enough to remove it
Can't you use Goo Gone to remove the adhesive residue and then degrease it with the alcohol?
Maybe but I don't the stuff Sir
Each to their own but i can't understand how such a tiny misalignment would worry anyone! Some OCD there for sure!

I have a new tool for removing the bezel now which makes things much easier

It’s true Seiko really need to up there game , No other brand is known to be this bad you always get the one off but with Seiko it’s around 1 in 3
If you’re that upset, buy a Rolex and stop whining.
My Grand Seiko Diver is off.
Normally GS is better but not prefect
Is it possible to align the chapter ring?
It is possible Maria but you have to remove the movement to do so
Great Video. What tape do you use? Seems to be thicker than the normal transparent tapes for packaging.
It is MF here is a link to some good stuff www.cousinsuk.com/product/tape-protection-cousins?code=T31392
This looks like it maybe the same stuff, amzn.eu/d/5Th4PY4
I can't understand why Seiko themselves can't QC the alignment consistently if it's this easy to get right first time
I think its because they are one of the biggest watch manufacturers in the world, Time is money so being many of there watches are under a 1k they don't have the time to check them correctly thats why bezels are misaligned and timekeeping cant be all over the place
Citizen makes much cheaper watches than Seiko but has no misalignment issues. For example my NY0040 is perfectly aligned.
Или если вы как-то попробовать разогреть прямо не снимая безеля и клей тот станет немножко вязким и попробовать повернуть этот бензель )))
The glue I use has a very fine tip so its very easy to place , but yeah you don't want to go mad with the stuff 👍🏻
А если просто положить безелем вниз налить пару миллиметров спирта и оставить там, может спирт удалит клей?
Maybe possible you just have to remember to remove the rubber gasket as the alcohol would damage it
@@ClickSpringReview Я думал вообще безель не снимать, налить в ёмкость спирта положить как бы неглубоко))
I wouldn't just in case the alcohol attacks the gasket which which holds the crystal in place it only takes a drop

The watch looks better without the bezel.
I can see where your coming from there
a better way is to buy another brand. Use the collective wallet to let seiko know low quality is not acceptable.

What about lume pip, does boiling water damage it and lum on it?? Or even rubber gasket on the bezel.
