and that's exactly why F Zero 99 wasn't a bad idea! introduced a new audience to the series, and reminded everyone else what was and what could be

I would love to see a revival of the series sometime in the future.
I hope GX is in December and it would get the Kiwami treatment with upscale graphics, 4 player co-op Grand Prix, online play, single race akin to AX, team race mode, Kiryu, Ichiban and Majima as racers and a Kamurocho track
Too soon, but it would be nice.
Takaya Imamura is basically one of the creators of F-Zero, and StarFox alongside Miyamoto. Imamura was the art director and character designer creating the design for characters like Captain Falcon, and the StarFox team, including Fox McCloud himself.
He was basically the one behind the American looking Captain Falcon comic in the original F-Zero instruction manual.
I downloaded F-Zero 99 and I gotta say, it's pretty fun even though I suck at it. In my first race, I crossed the finish line in 50th place.
A lot of series need a revival to be honest. Imagine a Pilotwings game using the joycon motion to steer the plane , would be lit

The translation is clunky. A smoother translation is:
"This is a bold re-imagining that gives props to the source material. I felt the love for the F-Zero (franchise). I would like to extend my deepest thanks to the creators (of F-Zero 99). I am hopeful for a revival of this IP on consoles from the bottom of my heart."
I think the biggest trap is 楽しみにしております Normally this translates to "I am looking forward to", as google translates does, however it has the modifier 心から which changes the expression's meaning to "I am hopeful for", so this is not a confirmation of any future F-Zero release, just a wish for it (like every other fan).
Nice, I feel like f zero 99 plus the f zero games in switch online got a lot of people interested in the series (including myself) so I think now would be the perfect time to revive the series.

Considering how GX’s story ended, and how Climax followed the full anime, a revival would have to reboot the entire franchise. Maybe take this chance to have all pilots in all the games coexist at the same time, with some slightly rewritten lores and backstories to accommodate them all together.
Here’s to hoping we get a remastered gx first for the current system AND THEN a new game for the next gen system that follows directly after gx

yes!!! we need f-zero series back. a port of f-zero GX will be great. yeah f-zero 99 is a test. there seeing if ppl will still play f-zero. the more ppl download it the more chances nintendo will make a brand new f-zero game. then when f-zero GX remaster releeses on switch everyone will be buying it for sure and when nintendo notice the game is selling very good they will then start maken a brand new f-zero game for switch 2.
I hope so, too, F Zero hasn't seen the light of day since F Zero GX. So a new game might bring it back into the light once again.

I’d love a new f-zero game with full customization, rollback net code online multiplayer, and even a fully fleshed out single player campaign with rpg elements sprinkled in ❤

Metroid Prime 4 is a WIP, Wario is getting his new game soon, & this bodes well for the F-Zero series's future. The last IP that needs a new game is just Star Fox at this point, & they've already been playing with that idea, behind the scenes, for sometime now.
I say, take your time with everything Nintendo & other Companies. It's been going well with so many games, as of now.

According to the credits of GX the program for the game and most likely the eleven new characters all belong to Sega. I wonder if that's played a reason in it not getting ported to switch.

I think if they create a new F-zero, the route to go is a new 3d game with a lot of players similar to this game (probably less players). Is the only way i see this franchise could differiantiate from Mario Kart, which is the main reason they haven't done a new one in a lot of time
Good insight that the creator wants to do something for the ip, what if they left the retro style of the game though and give it some form of newer graphics display and gameplay setup that’d be comparable to the Burnout and Need For Speed series? Have a metropolis to drive around to other race tracks or racing areas, find other vehicles to race or even an vehicle modding like adding parts for upgrades and tuning. I like the classic look but it seems too nostalgic for it to go anywhere, I’ll be playing F-ZERO 99 sooner than later to try it out.
Please I need that remake!
