Hakita knows how fun Speedrunning can be, so they make it easier to do
Hakita helps out the speedrunners and makes every fun glitch an intended mechanic. This game is the definition of "it's not a bug, it's a feature" and I couldn't be happier.

@@BossZander In our incredibly dog-shit should be burned to the ground degenerate horrible scum of a community it is heavily begged for in the reviews to add gay robot sex to ultrakill to the point where there not being sex in ultrakill is considered to be the biggest flaw of the game
@@BossZander buttplug support (controller rumble) was added to the game in a mod by one of the devs, after almost all of the negative reviews being about not having sex in the game.
@@BossZander lol it’s just a joke because most of the bad steam reviews for ULTRAKILL are “no sex update” and for some reason the ULTRAKILL community is extremely horny.

I think this is the real reason why V2 uses his own coins in Act II. He was so traumatized getting beaten by coins that he turned his trauma into a weapon

im pretty sure this was explained in the vid but that weird "first frame arm grab" bug where kb never showed up is gone as of uh, greed? never figured out why but basically you just kind of have to know if you got first frame or not now since theres no cue

My favorite thing about this progression (aside from the insane dedication of the runners) is how the devs changed things about 1-4 that didn't matter to anyone but speedrunners, namely inexplicably making V2 more slidey, and allowing the doors to open much faster.

tbh Slidey V2 is def something people probably wouldnt have even noticed outside of speedrunning but the doors always irritated me even when my fastest time on this level is like 40 seconds. slow doors just bad in general. ;(
Ultrakill speedrunners are a whole different breed of insane. Like I’m genuinely scared by the speed, detection and strategies. In other words they abandoned their humanity to push a killing machine to its absolute limits.

you jump out of the window
you see v1 diving at the speed of sound
getting completely obliterated in mere seconds
you're being pushed to the centre
and you leaving in fear and dread
and then V1 core eject boosts after you, not to kill you but instead so it can grab your left arm as fast as possible

V2 is my favorite boss. Gives the impression of that friend who have 100h in game while you just started and he challenges you to a "duel"
great docu, really loved everything about it. the editing must've also been a pain, but everything fits together so perfectly that its on par if not better than docu youtubers with 1+ million subs. wishing you the best.

The ending when behead made V2 slide perfectly into the middle gave me goosebumps with the music sync at the end lmao, this is such a good video explaining the pain that is the 1-4 world record. The fact that we can see today how the speedrunning is progressing from these very same people in the video is my favourite thing about these breakdowns.

I love how all the top speedrunners eventually started working together to shave time off. It also amazes me how they were saving literal milliseconds off at a time. Pure dedication.

Something I will relentlessly enjoy is how polite a lot of speedrunning communities seem to be with each other. Even when there's some rivalries between runners, they seem quite cordial! While this is corny for me to say, it's honestly inspiring to see a runner hype someone else up because they beat that runner's own record.

WOW, what a journey. I was in the edge of my seat and wonder how it can go lower and lower. Amazing job to the runners and to you telling the history.
What I love is that discovering a fun little bug caused an entire fucking speedrun strategy that revolutionized the entire V2 Clair de lune fight by just staight skipping it, of course not mentioning the slight push to save 48 miliseconds of time, or the clinical insane asylum launches.

v2's fatal flaw is never fucking using either of his arm abilities
Every single time a run was shown after we saw the first frame arm cutscene skip I kept thinking 'Still timesave left' And I have no clue if I'm right or pushing makes first frame impossible
actually its just that one update broke that bug, per se

What i liked about this video is that all of the speedrunners talked and helped each other through this in the discord, it was a friendly competition trying to one up each other but at the same time learning and trying to share ideas on how to improve
Abit late i am but holy shit this was such a good watch i may hate 1-4 but it was cool seeing how the level progressed (also seeing my shots of 1-4 used was pretty cool)
I have been enjoying speed running videos on salt and jobst but they are all games i never played. This is so awesome!
Today i had a weird glitch that got me stuck inside the celling after i tried shotgun parrying to fly. The difference is that i was only partialy stuck, with gun sticking out. All i did was just to stay here and snipe down v2 with revolver, while he was just looking at me like ,,come down here b#tch i ain't done with you". All i did then was to repeat the shotgun parry after V2 got defeated and i got back to the map.

The day the patch notes for the doors came out, if you listened very closely, you could faintly hear heavy breathing in the distant distance and the word Hakita... on the breeze.
I was stuck on this level for a while and then this video taught me how to P it, and it's my first P rank.
