  • Complete guide on how to replace spark plugs on your 2011-2018 BMW 3 series F30 with the N20/N26 Engine
    Parts: 12-12-0-039-664 Spark plugs x4
    Tools:
    10mm socket: amzn.to/3LVScff
    6mm socket: amzn.to/3F7kjGU
    7mm socket: amzn.to/3fR2ul4
    14mm Sparkplug Socket: amzn.to/3dCIYIk
    -Use this socket if you remove the extra top covers
    14mm Sparkplug socket: amzn.to/3zpruGX
    - Use this socket if you are not going to remove the top covers
    3/8" extension wobble: amzn.to/3FvwM7G
    3/8 ratchet: amzn.to/3RdiSZV
    - I recommend getting a ratchet with a flex head. This provides ease of movement and more flexibility, especially when used with other jobs
    1/4 ratchet: amzn.to/3dFXGxY
    For the 1/4 ratchet using a flex head is not necessary for this job but, comes in handy for other jobs.
    1/4” extension: amzn.to/3LFxxvY

    No dielectric grease? I got that plastic cover off pulled it out under the sway bar. Had to re-seat the connections 3x to get the warning light to go away.

    I have another question. Do you disconnect the battery when performing this spark plug replacement?

    • @friendlymechanic9778
      @friendlymechanic9778  Před 9 měsíci

      It is not necessary to disconnect the battery for this service. But I would have the key off and vehicle asleep.
      The start stop button light should be turned off. This will ensure the vehicle is asleep. Takes about 15 min

    Hi. Why no cleaning with compressed air, before looseing the spark plug?

    • @friendlymechanic9778
      @friendlymechanic9778  Před 8 měsíci

      It’s not necessary to replace the spark plugs.
      To replace fuel injectors I would definitely blow out with compressed air first.

      Here you go, is it for the triangle brace? This is a half inch socket because those are on pretty tight.

    What do you call that hook tool you have?

    • @friendlymechanic9778
      @friendlymechanic9778  Před 9 měsíci

      It’s an oversized hook pick. I got mine from a snap on set I bought years ago. I wouldn’t recommend buying it because it’s very expensive and difficult to find by itself. I found one on amazon if you’re interested.
