- 🇨🇦 Canada's national warning system, "Alert Ready," broadcasts via television, radio, and wireless devices across the country. This is a "fictional" simulation of Canada's Alert Ready system in the event of a Russian nuclear strike. Considering the current situation in Eastern Europe involving a nuclear power, this is what Canadians might see and hear if World War 3 broke out.

I live in Canada and I agree. It is one of the most jarring tones I've ever heard.
It’s even more so when there is an alert that goes out when a bunch of people are together. All of our phones go off at once.
Edit: Middle of the night is even better, at least one minute of terror grabbing for your phone to see what the hell is going on.

The cut to Oh Canada at the end hit way harder than I expected it to. My mind instantly went to the old TV signoff's where they would play Oh Canada at the end of the broadcasting day. I guess its only fitting to end the country the same way.
I like how Russia targeted the seven cities in Canada that have NHL teams.

It was 60 years ago that the Cuban Missile Crisis started. From October 13th to around the 28th. I was in a fall out shelter at that time. I was small, but I remembered it. I don't know about the rest of Canada but here in Ontario when there's an Amber alert we get the emergency alert notifications. There was one that came through about 3 or 4 days after Russia invaded Ukraine and let me tell u I was never as scared in my life as I was for about a minute when mine and my wife's phone were going off with that at 3 am waking us out of a dead sleep. My heart was racing for about 10 mins after that.

I AGREE! I take amber alerts very serious. Every time I hear that noise I always say a little prayer and hope for a happy ending. BUT! IF ITS THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNKW IT SHITS GOING NUCLEAR I FEEL LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE ITS OWN SOUND! I 100% FEEL LIKE HOW PEOPLE HANDLE A MISSING CHILD AND SHITS GOING NUCLEAR ARE GOING TO BE COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT! TOTALLY SHOULD HAVE ITS OWN SOUND.

One small detail I noticed is that you translated "cover" to "couverture". An alert would more likely encourage "prenez du réfuge" (seek refuge) rather than to hide under their kitchen container lids.

"Réfugiez-vous", would be the correct translation. "Prenez du refuge" is not something we would ever say, we would understand it perfectly though, but we would rather use that "prenez" for directions or exits, prenez à droite (take to the right) a bad quality GPS may say that, a good one would prefer to say "tournez à droite" being "turn right", but verb TAKE is less likely used for a specific type of location, especially for a refuge. "Prenez la sortie" (take the exit) is commonly used in revenge. "Prenez du refuge" is also the wrong translation since that means "Take some refuge" word by word... we wanted to translate Seek refuge here, would then be "Cherchez refuge", seek being the verb "chercher" in french. And without the "du", no need to put a "du" there in proper french, "un" being "a" in english could fit there but it's not necessary. Example "Seek a refuge = Cherchez un refuge". No "du" required. Du is used for less specific things like a color (add some black = ajoute du noir) or (call some backup = appelle du renfort). In orther words "du" is used as "some". Seek a shelter would be "Cherchez un refuge" and both can be said without "a=un" in both languages. But since in french the word refuge, is also a verb, the best translation possible would use that verb, being "Réfugiez-vous!", like saying "refuge yourself" 😂 Would that make sense in english? I love both languages, the simplicity of english is admirable, the complexity of french too.

They don’t just play this noise for nuclear attacks. It blares loudly on phones, radios and tv’s for any emergency situations or possible bad weather conditions. It doesn’t matter if its 3am this sound will wake you up with a near heart attack. It doesn’t matter if you’re phone is on silent or the volume all the way down, this noise still plays full blast. And if its an amber alert it will sometimes play multiple times a day and it even plays again when they find the kid. I never get used to this noise coming unexpectedly, my heart almost always drops into my stomach, especially when you’re sleeping and its really quiet and this noise unexpectedly starts going off really loud on all the phones in the house. If that hasn’t gave me a heart attack yet I don’t know what will 😂

Scary - however the targeted cities need updating. Halifax is Canada’s largest naval base & No Question would be a target. Probably one of the first cities hit.
John's, Nfld., Saint John, N.B., Toronto, Windsor, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Victoria would be the first places targeted in a nuclear attack do to the size of military stations, training centres, government bunkers and military supply units.

The way I would be sobbing. Like I don’t think I realized how much I love my country. I can’t imagine having to live through it being vaporized. I would be safe ish since I live in PEI (we would not be a good military target), but god this would be devastating.

Well you never know these days. I consider these videos as a wake up call that some of these scenarios may become a reality 1 day. It may happen in our lifetime it may happen when we're all dead and it's the next generation's problem. And another thing I learned is that tomorrow is not guaranteed and we should be grateful for being alive right now.

Just saw a very weird one last night in the U.S., so I searched CZcams for something about it. I heard the usual alert beeping sound on my tv. Then a video clip came on showing a missile/rocket taking off with a man saying, "We have liftoff. We have liftoff." Then the screen went black & it went back to my program (which was Hallmark, so there was nothing like that on the air). Very odd! That was about 1:00 am CDT this morning in MN. Not sure what to make of that!

great stuff. very realistic. one thing i will say is that i live in Nova Scotia, and my late grandfather used to work as a manual labourer in military bases, and i think it would be more realistic if Halifax was one of the targeted areas since apparently during the Cold War that was the third most likely region in North America to be nuked by Russia after Washington DC and New York City.
