- I wrap the interior trim of my car with Brushed Steel 3M Vinyl (BR201). I give you a few tips I learned along the way to hopefully motivate some of you who might be on the fence about trying this out. Vinyl wrapping interior trim not only can transform the look of your car, but it also protects the trim it’s installed on. I linked below to the vinyl you see me using, but there are tons of different colors and textures to suit just about every taste. Enjoy your own wrapping job!

Looks clean. Your tutorial videos are well made, with clear explanations. What's your next project?
@@akqjtn I was thinking about a dash cam myself. I'll make sure to check your videos. Cheers.
why not just paint it. i have done my whole interior years ago. it lasted the entire life of the car. prep work is key. sanding, cleaning priming, can even use 3m adhesive spray, the right paint as well. if you do it proper it lasts and looks better than most vinyls. clear coat spray cans are terrible. believe it or not i was able to use high quality polyurethane over black with no yellowing. i fiber glassed some items. used the epoxy resin as a clear coat in some areas.these were able to be waxed. the gloss was to intense driving in sunlight. it would become blinded at times on the dash. watch for uv damage with cheap clears. was a white car, black and deep blue interior trim. i had the best interior i have every seen to date. lost many pics over hard drive crash :( if a finger nail leaves scratches how is it going to look after a few weeks in real word use.
@@akqjtn soundproofing is like the cherry on top. i have done my car. if road noise is loud it helps. its not a must at all. use a liquid sound deadner where you can. much easier to work with. i happlied liquid over whole car, then those smelly asphat over certain areas, also open and closed cell foam in key areas help to. if you have a decent system its about impossible to stiop all trunk noise. its a bit of trial and error. your car will sound much quiter when passing cops. your system becomes a bit of a sleeper. once you enter boom. spray foam is a secrete.
What would we do without CZcams and people like you posting vids such as these. Thanks so much for the demo. The factory paint has come off from high traffic trim pieces and this vinyl wrap will be just the thing to make it look nice again. I appreciate ur efforts and hope mine looks almost as good as yours. Cheers.
Definitely one of the better videos on wrapping trim. Great narrative and demonstration for the difficult areas - corners, inside and especially outside!
Great video. Most clear, easy to understand and informative wrapping video I’ve seen yet. Has reinspired my confidence to give wrapping another go!
Definitely a great tutorial! Given I've just had this video, patience, the heat gun from a soldering station (set to minimum and carefully used as well), and got it perfect on my 1st try, definitely this video played a good part. Did it on a laptop LCD lid, mine is carbon fiber pattern and it really looks awesome now. The flat part is easy of course but the corners and rounded edges were tricky, but a little heat, stretching it just enough and patiently doing, it turned out perfect.
Goes to show that with patience, the right tools (that don't even need to be fancy) and a great tutorial, anyone can take their hand at it and not be afraid.
Also for whoever decides to do it with a hot air solder station: just set it to around 150ºc and maximum airflow, no nozzle, pretty much as little time with heat applied as he showed on video.
Your patience & attention to detail amazes me. Keep it up 👍😎
You just convinced me that I should dip everything....
Dip comes off alot easier than this stuff specially interior where u touch everything. I did my rims and saw it come off within a year i know i didn't apply enough but as an amateur i wouldn't have thay problem with vinyl. How did it go for you?
@@dukedizzy you didn't do it right then dip last just as much as vinal or paint
@@abinsaji4449 Lmao no it does not. Complete lie.
@@Luckingsworth yea it can if done correctly and applied properly it can last 3years or more it shouldn't come off when you touch it
@@abinsaji4449 Vinyl will last indefinitely if applied correctly.
Real light layer of finger nail clear over the edge does the trick...been using that trick for 40 years..never had it fail.
Finger nail clear?🤔
@@MFRiley Clear nail polish
Great video. I wish everyone showed and explained the way you did. Excellent detail. Thanks!
I've been slowly wrapping the trim pieces of my car. I didn't have this video to help me along, but I'll be redoing them with help of this vid. Thanks for sharing!!
Best tutorial i’ve ever seen to be honest
Man, you're really good at explaining things
This is one of the best 'novice' vids I have found for wrapping, thank you dude, now gonna give it a shot!
Really good of you to make this video. Great work and big respect to you. Thanks bro 👊🏽
Just wanted to say this video really helped me with my first wrap on my car. Thank you!
You did a very good job of explaining details of the project. I have learned a new skill. Thanks.
WOW you made that look easy, I will be attempting wrapping soon, thanks for your advice I will certainly watch this a few more times before I start
Good video. As the video mentioned multiple times " patience " is the key!
Thanks for the video iam wrapping similar parts for the first time, and this is exactly what i needed to see to get a feel for the amount of heat and stretching.gave me the confidence todo my stuff and it turned out great.i took my time cause thats what it takes to make it look like it came that way..
AWESOME quality and content! Exactly the video I needed to see! Thank you!
nice job. love the brush aluminum look.
Interior wrapping is a great way to give a modern vibe to older car
IMPRESSIVE, CLEAR THOUGHT OUT DIRECTIONS. You gained a new subscriber!
I wish i would of watch this before doing my door lock covers. This tutorial is perfect 💯 A+++++
For once a tutorial that show's how to do a tricky job rather than the most easy part like most tutorials.
Excellent tutorial and sharing of your experience - incredibly insightful - thank you
Great instructional video. I'm nervous about wrapping my new truck but I'm going to give it a shot.
Nice, one of the better videos on CZcams...
Amazing tutorial! Can´t belive this video doesn´t have a million views!
Hey man it Looks great, thanks for The videos you you upload
Straightforward and informative video, thanks for the tutorial
Great tutorial! Probably the best vinyl vid I've seen. I'm definitely going to try this out myself. Already taken the dash apart, I just need some vinyl now.
I know you used 3M, but I'm wondering what's the best brand you'd recommend for interior trim like this. I've been doing some research, and people say that 3M can be kinda finicky.
Got any videos on headliner repair, audio upgrades (replacing OEM speakers or sub box and wiring) or rally light installs?
These are all jobs I'm doing to my car. I have a first gen BMW cooper that I'm working on as a refurbishment project.
wow, just wow. cant wait to try it myself for my car.
I appreciate the points you chose emphasize. Great tutorial. Saved for future reference.
Great job mate! This video has made the whole process alot easier cheers bro🤙
All from the beginning this is very informative and helpful
This was a great demonstration video on Wrapping... Thank You!
I just attempted to do a wrap yesterday on a small trim piece, needless to say, it didn't work out so now I know what to do I'm going to try it again!
Really well done and thorough, just wrapped a piece of cracked trim for the first time after watching. Not perfect but I'll get better at it. A cheap hair dryer worked for me.
You do a great job at video production. Looks awesome as well!
Wow, awesome video, congratulations man!
Thank you brother! This stuff definitely takes some patience!
Wow, you do amazing work!
best tutorial I've found! Incredibly helpful to see all the equipment needed and tips like making slits and using heat to your benefit on corners. Given me a lot more knowledge to wrap my own car interior pieces! Thank you great video man!
Really great video, showed me what I'd been doing wrong! Still think I'll struggle to achieve that finish but gave me some confidence to try again.
Man, that really looks nice. Great tutorial!
Very helpful video brother mi trim piece came looking real good Thanks
Great! I think im ready to give it a practice go. My first time.
Bro! Phenomenal instructional video! I’ve watched a lot of video, as I want to learn how to vinyl wrap, this is the best video BY FAR! Way to explain patience, techniques, the importance of different cuts, addressing the sharp corners, and showing the back view. You are very thorough! Way to go man, I feel 100% comfortable vinyl wrapping the trim pieces in my car now. You gained a new subscriber. Keep it up!
Black on black is the best way to go..awesome video thank you
na.. that's the easy way.. Silver highlights are the best Definitely make the interior pop
Easy and detailed explanation
This is perfect for someone whos just bought a first car with very basic interior, nice seat covers and this and the car will look perfect
Yeah I already have access to every bit of kit through family business so will definitely be taking the full dash out of my car on a sunny day , full gloss black and gunmetal detailing I think 🤔
Great Video and an amazing job!!!
Best video on this subject
Nice job on this really clear video. Thanks!
you make it look so easy when in reallity it is terrifyingly hard xD wrapped some interior pieces just yesterday and almost pissed blood! still came out great but was a heck of work and sweat
Came here looking to wrap or make trim pieces for my 2017 WRX and ended up finding a video for what I want😂 doesn’t happen to often it’s for the exact car you’re looking for
thanks for posting this. very helpful
This video was brilliant really helpful and I definitely going to have a go 👍🇬🇧
Finally a video that explains the vinyl process in detail. I have done my own wrapping in my car but I bought a cheap vinyl wrap from China which creates a lot of bubbles and it's very thick. It took me a long time to do it but I think I am going to buy a good quality vinyl and do it over again. Very good explanation made!
Great guide, thank you. Will be useful to use on my channel and projects.
This is art
Love this video I’m buying a car for my channel and im gonna have to wrap some pieces Of trim and I’m worried but this definitely made it less scary seeing you work with it so much was great :) cause I was worried you had to me like the flash or it would dry and be done 🙏🙏this was great thank you!!!
Great video, thanks for the tips!
Looks great man good job
Good information and really well made video.
Great job. Very informative. Thanks
Didn't know it would take this much time. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. Pros: I'll have an entire afternoon of spending on detailing the car. Cons: I will probably get frustrated when I mess up for the xth time. Anyhow, very solid tutorial. Thanks man. Looks OEM.
Whoaaarrr, nice work mate! Wow.
You do a very thorough video!
Looks great and helped a lot.
Thanks and subscribed
Brilliant will do more of mine this week
Awesome job!
Nicely done!
Don’t be afraid to take on this type of project. I’ve never wrapped a thing before in my life. I managed to do a pretty decent job on my Escalades wooden trim. I hated the shiny light plastic looking wood and wrapped it with a darker more natural looking wood it was also textured.
Very nice video! Well done!!!
Man that’s amazing job better then factory
your a wizard, Im watching this whole thing and not really even wanting to wrap anything more than a shifter boot bezel.
After seeing this I've plan for long wintery evenings 😇
impressive skillz man, I would like to just pay you to do my interior haha
Damn what a solid tutorial thank you SIR
Awesome video. Thank you.
Great video I feel ready to wrap something now. : )
Thanks for the lesson,
Was hoping you'd show us how to remove those panels from the car
Going to tackle this next week on a 17 Golf Alltrack.
Very informative! My 4Runner has plastic inserts in the doors that are not removable, yet I want to wrap those sections. Will you provide a short tutorial video on that type of application?
Great video. I did mine today def harder then it look but great training video.
After successfully fucking up the first time i tried this, im going to attempt it again after watching this. Lots of usefull tips in here and i can clearly see now what stuff i did wrong.
Props dawg thats OE from factory all day""👍
Very good video! Thanks
Good camera work, i ordered a gauge pod from XLR8 for my 08 Civic Si and I got some CF vinyl, let's see how it turns out.
Great video, thanks for taking the time to document the process. I keen to wrap my centre console and steering wheel trim.
Do I need a heat gun with a possibly low setting of temp and airflow for this job? Don't have one and wondered if a 2 heat and airflow speed will do (450C and 600C, airflow 300/500mph)?
Thanks
Good job homie
that was a great video -thanks!
Im glad i found your video before I butchered my whole interior, i did 1 trim piece flawless but the rest im havinf a hard ass time😩
Watched this video 2-3 times already and i havent even gotten the wrap. Ill end up rematching it one more time right before i do it but im excited to start wrapping. Ill end up doing it in a week or two
Great vid👍
Your video was very help. I tried wrapping my 2012 Ford Fusion stereo surround. It didn’t come out at all. I never miss with this stuff before. I think I ordered the wrong wrap. I ordered vinyl wrap. To me it’s way thicker then what you have. Anyways, I keep practicing.
Very very very good tutorial. Thank you for that:-)
