- an instructional video that illustrates how I make some of the structures inside my turtle tank. I use PVC, egg-crate, acrylic, and clay pots. Be careful when using tools to make these things, always look out for sharp edges, and be aware of underwater traps that could endanger your turtles.
I purchase my plastic mesh online, here is the link: www.aquaticeco.com/
This is absolutely fantastic... I can only dream of giving my turtles a tank like that...Maybe one day...
you can find one on craigslist for cheap...
WOW. That's not a Tank it's a Paradise
hey buddy, can I live in one of your tanks? looks nicer than my apartment
Omg
Fr fr his turtles live nicer lives than most people 😂😂
your turtles live better than me!
Wow, what an amazing tank. I HOPE YOU STILL HAVE IT.You put a lot of work intothat.
Wow my turtles dream tank😂!!!
I must say this is the most inspirational tank I have ever seen. Better than most commercially build tanks! Not to mention, I come here often just to look at your turtles swim.. haha
I looove your tank and your turtles!! You are so devoted and really take care of them and give them a good livingspace!
your tank looks amazing and so creative 😍
thank you. all of my turtles have since been released back into the wild. I continue to do rescues but no longer keep turtles at home beyond a few days or weeks.
Just purchased a 40gallon tank for my red eared slider and plan on doing that pvc pipe basking area too.
I made a version of your pvc basking area for my turtle. she loves it. lol
Good job man why dont u poop in it
StyleGamingRG
Shut up fucktard!
James Mclean xD
James Mclean just be aware that you will have to get her a bigger tank eventually because red-eared sliders get HUGE
(you probably already know that but just making sure)
This has to be the most awesome Turtle tank EVER! I want one!
It's really cool how much you care about them, and how thoughtful you are to their needs and what they enjoy!
Thanks for sharing!
Amazing tank!!! Where did you purchase it?
kishdogg05 The Coral Reef aquarium shop in Tampa. Was custom built.
I had been searching CZcams for a decent and easy to make@maintain turtle habitat aquarium. this is absolutely awesome! I now have new ideas and directions I want to take for the habitat of the turtle ... thank you for sharing
Your tank is truely incredible. Thank you for the ideas and tomorrow I am re-doing my tank.
4:52 where can i buy that basking platform?
You make it from acrylic
Don't use gravel in your turtle tank! :( The turtles could eat it and cause compaction sometimes leading to death :(
gnna have problems with turtles eating any substrate, the best thing to do is have none in the tank whatsoever
best idea is keep it free of any flooring..if a person decides.. pebble stones are much larger or river rocks..
Well if you look in his tank, he has sand and smaller river rock, everything is either bigger than the turtles head or small enough to easily pass. The gravel is likely underneath the river rock in the clay pots so that the plant roots can grow.
Cherrie Msp Don't Turtles encounter gravel and more harmful debris in the wild? 🤔
This is the coolest home turtle aquarium I have every seen. Nice job!
10 min of video totally worth watching. thank u so much for the time spent to showcase ur ideas, creativity, and knowledge. very inspirational
Definitely one of my favorite aquarium on youtube!
Man, that's gotta be the best tank I've seen on CZcams. Great set up and very helpful for me. I only have 1 hatchling and a 10 gallon tank, but I plan on expanding on both within the next year. And this video gave me some ideas.
I am so happy that you spend time to acctually take care of your turtles. Thank you and I am trying to build your exact tank because i lovve it so much
You explain everything so well. Very good video. I love how everything is made so cheaply, yet the finished product is sturdy and really nice looking.
That is the most amazing turtle tank I've ever seen.
I thought my 129 gallon tank was impressive, but man... This is the most beautiful tank I've seen in my whole life. I don't know why but the whole time i was thinking when watching this was how much fun your turtles must have..
the most elaborate turtle tank on CZcams 👍
wow your tank lock like a jungle and its the best setup i ever watched and i like how you made a bridge basking to egg laying sand this is the best
the egg laying platform is filled with sand, slightly damp. There are no holes in the platform, just a ramp so the turtles can climb into the sandbox. It is a nice touch if the sandbox has some plastic plants to provide some shade and cover.
Absolutely beautiful! My 🐢 would love one of these Tanks! Great Job👍
Wow your setup is awesome. What great turtle husbandry! I’m jealous!
this is the nicest turtle tank ive EVER seen
I happened upon your video during my research on turtles. I will be reseaving my hatchlings soon so i will not have anything as elaberate as you right now but i look forward to it in years to come. Thank you sir for the video. I also enjoyed your other videos as well.
That is the most amazing tank I've ever seen! Love it!
soon as the video started, my reaction: OH MY GOD, what a loverly tank. can defo see the hard work and money you have put into it mate, its incredible!!
Unreal ! I was exhausted just learning about it. It would be totally fun to have 1/2" baby turtles swimming in there. It would be almost like a state of the art preschool for them. Yet another tour-de-force habitat on CZcams.
this is the most fantastic anything tank ive ever seen. Awesome, just awesome!
wow that tank is beautiful, your turtles must be very happy.
First of all let me say that you have and AWESOME tank, and i love all the DIY stuff you have! Thanks for the ideas and good job men.
I honestly don't see how any human being can dislike this video.
Them turtles have a real luxury life haha!.. Brilliant and really helpful video, thanks for sharing your amazing ideas. 😊🐢
tank very nicely decorated and ideas are pretty handy and beautiful.....great job there Bob ....cheers :)
Fantastic setup. It looks great and I'm sure your turtles love it. Great job.
thanks. they seem to be happy with the tank.
Hi I talked to you about a 3 striped mud turtle a little while ago like in may. We have taken that turtle home and he is now healed, got one eye back, and eats very good. Thank you for all your help through that. (I was the 12 year old that found the 3 striped mud turtle in florida) I talked to u about it. But thank you for all your help through all that.👍👍
You're welcome.
I clicked this video and was like HOLY CRAP LOOK AT THAT AWESOME TURTLE TANK! Great way to start a video coming out amazing
this tank just looks like a real jungle. awesome!!
Theeee best instructional video! I need to redo my tank and everything you taught will be something I can conquer. Thank you!!
you're welcome!
BauriBob what filter system would you recommend for a 75g? Because when I do some of this redecorating, it will give more water in there.
that's a hard question to answer because I don't know how many and what the sizes are of your turtles. Also depends on how often you do partial water changes. I only kept small mud and musk turtles in a much larger tank. I had a wet/dry sump filter with two large pumps (redundancy). I would think a canister filter is most popular, they come in different sizes. You'd probably want one rated for twice a 75 gallon tank would normally use for fish as turtles produce a lot of waste. also, join the Turtle Forum. You can get specific care information on the species of turtles that you have. www.turtleforum.com/forum/upload/
I say this with no exaggeration or anything like it at all, but THIS is the most amazing DIY turtle tank I've seen through all my searching here on CZcams! Very neat, well thought, organized and overall gorgeous! Much respect to you sir! :)
this is the most beautiful/thoughtful turtle tank I've ever seen!!!! thank you for sharing :)
Thank you.
My dad loves your set up!!!
WOW!!! this is amazing. awesome job on the tank.
you have the best tank i ve ever seen. I have a yellow bellied slider turtle!!!!
wow amazing set up it all looks very nice and ur turtles look healthy and happy!
I have a wet/dry sump filter. That keeps the ammonia and nitrites down. I do a 50% water change ever week, that takes care of the nitrates. Since that is nearly 100 gallons, I use a hose from outside and a pump. I don't do too much else. Most organics eventually break down. I also have a lot of live plants in the tank which help. I do a complete tank clean-up, empty the tank, etc. about once every two years.
Amazing! probably the best turtle tank i've ever seen!
Awesome set up! Thanks for the vid got some great ideas for our new 125 gallon tank
Beautiful tank, i can't wait to try and make some of these things for my little guys- thank you xxx
Thats awesome nice to see that there are people which care about that animals
Breathtaking! I wish my setups were like this.
Thanks so much for making this! I now have some great Ideas for this summer. I love the videos.
DANG DUDE! you're tank is absolutely godly!
Your creations are so awesome! You are truly their god
You are my hero, SUCH A BEAUTIFUL TANK!
the basking platform is an acrylic tray filled with sand (keep slightly moist). I had the tray built by the same guy that built my aquarium.
yes, Lowes and Home Depot. The PVC usually sticks together fairly securely and gluing is rarely necessary, but you can glue it if you want. Sometimes I fill the PVC with gravel and put end caps on. That makes the structure sink rather than float, easier to work with.
@07jimaz I use eggcrate as a scaffolding and plastic mesh (1/4") to cover the eggcrate since the eggcrate holes are too big for the turtles to crawl up on. I tie down the mesh with electrical ties.
very nice very clear and well explained and on HD ... thanks Bob
that's the most awesome tanks i have ever seen!!
Great ideas! Can't wait until I upgrade the size of my tank so that I can try some of these!
whoa, that pvc took is cool! i havnt seen that before, i want one now
This has to be one of the coolest tanks ive ever seen Turtle heaven :D great job man
This is amazing! Great job! I absolutely love what you've done with the tank!
Beautiful set up my friend
hi thanx for all the neat tips.Love what you have done with your aquarium I have started building my own aquariums but desided to make a tank spcificly made for my turtle all components built in to the tank with glass. would like to see a update on your aquarium
I love the pvc pipe idea! I used pvc pipes one time to make a puppet theater ... I need to get a bigger tank for my turtle though ... but I might make a platform with pipes for her now, and then make a bigger one when she gets a bigger tank
My friend, this is beautiful and amazing.
That's a big ass tank! I love it!
DUDE YOUR TANK IS TURTLE HEAVEN
Really nice setup !
That is 1 beautiful tank awesome work
I absolutely adore your tank/plants/turtle it's so beautiful! What a sight it takes a lot of turtle thinking heart to come up with this all created for turtle comfort , lol "turtle hamptons hotel " lol awesome ! Yeah!
great video, gave me a lot of ideas. thanks on behalf of my pet turtles!
I just Logged in to say thats a Beautiful Tank you got there and great ideas thanks for sharing :)
@pointlessness15 those are acrylic basking and shallow water platforms. I had them built by the same guy that builds my tanks. If you are handy with cutting and gluing acrylic, you can make your own. Otherwise, call some of the aquarium shops in your area and see if they will build them for you, just give them the dimensions.
Beautiful tank. Turtle paradise.
Wow that tank looks nice
love the tank you've inspired me to build 1 for my leos n future bearded dragon that im getting this weekend
I love that tank!
WOW! Nice Set up!!!!!
Amazing tank !!
OH MY GOD THIS IS SO INCREDIBLE!!
@azzofkowner I either cover egg-crate with plastic mesh or I use non-skid strips (like for the shower) on solid acrylic ramps. The strips tend to come off eventually so I now mostly stick with mesh covered egg-crate.
i agree....your tank is the BEST tank i have ever seen. Which leads me to ask....how do i get mine? did you build the tank or buy it yourself? if so, how did you make it and with what materials? if you bought it how much was it? what are the dimensions of the tank? how did you get the rocks with moss on them!? do you use water heaters to keep the water at a certain temperature? how do you filter all that water? how many gallon tank is that? what plants do you use besides hydrilla?
i absolutely looove your turtle habitat! i always wanted to get one n make a tank as beautiful as yours. your turtles must feel like they're on vacation or something! i wish i could make a tank that long but unfortunately i don't have the space. great video though.
This looks great, very inventive must say! ;)
I use Cable ties in my fish tank to keep some of my plastic plants in place, they work a treat! I will do a few things like you have shown for my Fish tank, and save money at the same time!
Cheers!
it is called PVC and you can buy it in any hardware store. It is commonly used for plumbing applications. I use 1/2" PVC for scaffolding but it comes in larger sizes as well. You need to buy special cutters so you can cut the PVC down to the size you require. Various PVC joints are available for connecting the pieces together. There is PVC glue for gluing together the pieces if you wish to do that.
That's an amazing turtle tank!!!!
Wow your tank is badass holy cow!!
Amazing set-up.
Love the tank so much
