- It's the April Fools Day List! Well, that sounds misleading since this list is April Fools Day themed, as in it's a real list about joke characters in fighting games, as opposed to a joke list. These are the best joke characters, in my opinion, from all fighting games.

The Joker isn't a joke character. He's just...The Joker in a fighting game.
I didn't mean to imply The Joker was a joke character in the intro of the video. He only appeared on screen when I said the word "joke" in the intro (that's also why he's in the thumbnail). Still, I could see why people thought I was saying Joker was a joke character.

Its sad that Tekken has reduced Paul Phoenix to a joke character. He's supposed to be [or he was] the strongest non-Mishima in Tekken canon.
+John McHenry Paul started as a less serious character but has even won the King of Iron Fist Tournament. Tekken 3. He was the one who beat Ogre.... except Ogre wasn't really defeated and by the time he became True Ogre he was gone and Jin defeated him. So he technically fought his way to the end but never fought True Ogre.
With that said, Paul is a nod to Chuck Norris in that his fighting style is that American Karate. His best friend being Law who is a much less subtle nod to Bruce Lee is the main connection that Paul has with Norris. In the Bruce Lee movie, 'Way of the Dragon' Lee and Norris have a cinematic fight scene which ends with Lee being the victor. This is why you can see Law teaching Paul some skills in Tekken 2 as Law would be the better fighter. Paul simply wants to be the best fighter and has easily become one of the best, possibly thanks to training with Law for a bit. One gameplay note would be the "Flash Kick" that was in Tekken. As some characters could do this move by inputting the same command as Guile's flash kick from Street Fighter. It was funny that the only character that couldn't fully do it was Paul despite having a similar look (hair). Paul could start the flip but would land on his face. After training with Law though he can land the flip fine.
Now I don't know why I took all this time to write all this. Good on you if you read it all lol. I just really love Tekken.

Young link isn't the weakest character, he's typically viewed as one of, if not the best B tier, just being shy of A tier

+Ruby Rose Roll is great in Tatsunoko, many pro's combo with her along with their mains due to the support attack combo potential.
+Ruby Rose Roll works great with Casshern in TvC. Its hilarious to knock them down and do the flaming broom scrub. It looks like she is scrubbing their crotch so hard it bursts into flame. Then DHC into Casshern and he jumps out with a super punch to the nuts.

Lord Zero When you make a character that hurts itself and has no weight, you are setting it up for disaster in a game that is all about not flying off the screen due to damage taken. Pichu was given barely more knockback and damage than pikachu, but in order for pichu to have been taken even remotely seriously, it would've needed about captain falcon strength attacks (falcon punch and knee aerial excluded). I don't see a way that pichu would be not considered a joke. You should go back and read Pichu's SSBM entry.

In Naruto: Clash of Ninja you could play as Akamaru... who was a joke character while also being the most unfair character to play against. With such a small hitbox, Akamaru was practically invincible.

I'm not sure why I said slightly stronger since Gohan did say Videl is much stronger than Hercule at one point. I guess I was just not entirely sure since they've never had equal fights in the series that were canon, so I didn't want to fully assume.

Joker and Deadpool are NOT joke characters.
Joker's entire character gimmick might be being a clown, but he's no joke. ...Seriously. As for Deadpool, um. I'm not really sure how to justify the validity of him as not being a joke character, but he's not. He's just Deadpool.
I would say Deadpool is not a joke character because he is a comedic character that is meant to be played seriously and is put on the same level as the rest of the cast, rather than made intentionally bad based on his design or put in as some sort of easter egg we would laugh at that was not given as much attention as the rest of the characters in the cast. Similar to how Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat is a jokester that fights seriously, Deadpool was made to reflect his personality in the comics, which is incredibly goofy, but still skilled. I would classify him as a comedic character that tells jokes that we laugh with, rather than him being a joke character that we laugh at.
Either way, they have no place in this video.

Thanks dude! I can't really tell why. Based on comments, some people were mad that I put Phoenix Wright on the list and said he was one of the weakest characters in UMvC3. There are a few other criticisms I've received, but regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Toro and Kuro fit right in a fighting game universe with a boxing kangaroo, a baby dinosaur and a pack of fighting bears.
I think a good idea for the mokap character would be for him to be like a combo character so they have moves from other characters to reference that they are those characters technically

I initially thought Pichu was a poorly designed clone character, but a few people have pointed out that Sakurai stated Pichu was made intentionally bad, making him a joke character, so consider Pichu the most notable omission on this list.
to be fair, hercul's present for you attack was so damn OP in budokai 1 because of the small ammount of ki it uses and the combo to initiate it being hard to dodge.

mister satan is not the strongest human. tenshinhan, krillin, chichi or even master roshi are all stronger and thats not even half of the list of people that are stronger than him.
That's why I said he's the strongest human "without any powers," as in the characters that don't utilize ki. Everyone on that list uses ki with the exception of ChiChi (unless you count the Garlic Jr. filler episode where she started powering up). I thought powers was a good word at the time to generalize to those that didn't know the word ki. If I included all humans, then probably Krillin or maybe Tenshinhan would top that list.

dont wanna be a smartass here ( :^) ) but even if you specified him as "the strongest human who doesnt use ki" you would - at least in my interpretation - be wrong since goku encountered many strong human foes in his childhood. i would rank both grandpa gohan and tao pai pai over mr. satan just to give examples.
I guess it's how you interpret a character that uses ki. Tao and Grandpa Gohan primarily fought in hand-to-hand combat, but Tao still used the Dodon-pa and Grandpa Gohan still used the Kamehameha wave. I mean no ki usage at all, even with last resort tactics, which is why I said he was the strongest without using ki at all.

USA SMB2 is basically a reskinned version of Doki Doki Panic, another game also made by Shigeru Miyamoto, which was released because the true SMB2 was deemed 'too difficult' for western audiences.

one character that could be counted in is Pichu in Smash Bros. Melee. While it's not necessarily a bad character, Pichu is a self-damaging version of Pikachu, as all its specials also cause recoil damage. This was perhaps a reference to the anime, in which several Pichu were shown to hurt themselves whenever they used electric attacks

No, Joker was not really eligible for the list since he's not a joke character. This was a video for April Fool's Day and I felt The Joker fit the theme of April Fool's, which is why he's off to the side on the thumbnail and only appears in the intro when I mention "joking." He was on my list on comic relief characters that are taken seriously in fighting games.

KillerKombat X She's a clone of Filia who was hidden on the roster. To play her you used to have to move your cursor to an empty spot on the character select screen. Her story mode is also just Filia's dream. She was originally designed as a gag character, but she is still a totally viable character.

Fun fact about toro and kuro. If you play Phantasy Star Online 2 on the Playstation Vita,you can unlock them as partner cards on the vita and normal game,if I remember correctly.
Sadly I have yet to get the english tweaked version on my vita.
There is ONE playable character trained by Dan Hibiki, actually: Chairperson from Project Justice. As expected for a high-school student who trained under Dan, she's the resident joke character of HER game, being really, really bad at fighting... but she's the best assist character in the game, since her move heals you AND fills your Guts gauge, while other characters with similar moves only can do one or the other.
Also, about Fukua; her name is a joke on a common typo of Filia's name (note the letters U and K are next to the I and L).

Wii Fit Trainer?
She sort of seems borderline as a joke character to me. She is a comedic character based on her origin and moveset, but I put her in the same category as Mr. Game & Watch where they don't seem like fighters, but their history can give them a comprehensive moveset. However, she could easily have been put on this list since that could also justify her as being a joke character. It's all based perspective, so I can see why she would fit in with these other joke characters.
STOP calling Wii Fit a joke character. Smash is a game with no boundaries. That why we have Mario, Pokemon, Villager and Duck Hunt in the roster.

Fun fact; Fukua originated from a stream where one of the developers accidentally spelled Filia wrong, U being right next to I and K being right next to L on your standard qwerty keyboard. Fans liked the misspelling and it stuck. And thus Fukua was born.
The funny thing is in the korean manga of Street Fighter Dan III is really a badass, almost evil at some point. And before dying he was even able to pass to Ken the secret of the ultimate shoryuken.

Tao's more of a joke than Bang, in my opinion. Both of them are hilarious characters as a whole, though.

Fighting Vipers was a Sega title, so that might explain why. In fact, that character's name is Honey in Fighting Vipers. I guess that could mean Sega put the human version of Honey the Cat in that game.
