Wing chun is an animal style; snake and crane and is derived from Shaolin. Chun is a purposeful departure from animal styles, it's Tien Yan Dei (Body/postural framework) is slightly different. It was part of a movement to create a new animal style based on Ren (Man). This was not achieved till the creation of Chi P'ing Tao.
