      What weights in the Javelin did you get and what diameter? My gun doesn't like the 23gn or 26gn in 218's, but loves the 30gn's in 217 and 218, haven't tried the 34gn yet as they don't fit into the old magazines. The slugs are made of very soft lead and the expansion when hunting is probably the best in market. I found the H&N's slightly more accurate but they are hard with a very shallow hollow point, not the best combination for hunting. Still prefer cheaper pellets up to 50m.lol.

    How far past the transfer port does the rifling start,
    And does the pin probe push the slug onto the rifling or does the slug stop just short (5mm) of the rifling.
    Ie is the slug sitting in the smooth part of the chamber or does it push into the rifling.
    I have noticed that the pin probe embeds into the rear of the slug rather than push the slug into the rifling.

      @AimSmall  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Johan. I don't have sponsorship for guns or anything else, thus all my work is funded out of my own pocket... I do however have some knowledge of most FX guns as I am looking into buying another one soon, The Dreamline is top of the list currently, very nice gun, light accurate and stunning to look at, it loves the 18gn pellets, the only thing I don't like about it is the shot count (the compact version), I shot with one the other day and got about 36 shots per fill - running 15,89gn JSB's at 950fps... so it was setup to run hot.I shot a 2" group at 100y, accurate little bugger. The "lite" is stunning in the FT tactical stock, I would love to get this gun with the Saber Tactical FT stock in .177.I wouldn't buy the compact unless you need something very short with fold-able stock. Shot count is important for me.

    And I hate to say it (no I don't 😂 ), but I told you so !
    The H&N are VERY good, I use the 25gr .217...coincidentally the .218 also lose just a bit comparing with the .217.
    Do you know what you are missing right now??...magazines to hold the 30gr.😁
    DO NOT shoot pellets with that wind...you will have a heart attack. 🤣

      @AimSmall  Před 3 lety

      MMM yes the H&N are super accurate, I still need to test expansion when hitting a target with them, the hollow point is very shallow and doesn't allow for a lot of expansion at all. But that will be a future video indeed. Valve is all the way open at 4 lines. I tested the 30gn Javelins at 930fps and they are awesome and they fit into my current magazine... might go that route, not in the mood for the new magazine setups...

I wanted to ask you what is the improvement made by Gerald ... you just lowered the pressure regulator from 150bar to 125bar ?? or have you moved the adjusting screw of the drive wheel? how many mm do you have in register? have you weighed down the spring of the striking mass with the 2 washers present in the slug power kit? the spring did you keep the original or that of the kit? thank you and sorry for the many questions but I am new in these pcp and I wanted to understand more ...

    • @AimSmall
      @AimSmall  Před 3 lety

      Just as curious as I am... Gerhard got the balance in the gun down to perfection, there is a triangle that works together: Valve Adjustment, regulator and Hammer spring, my gun was totally out of sync (it doesn't have the power kit - I bought the power plenum separate, the dual flow separate and Gerhard build the pin-probe as a tester), the pin-probe also scraped into the barrel and cocking was not smooth. After aligning all the internal parts he sat for a few hours and plenty of slugs to get the trio balanced. My gun purrs at the moment, from 230 bar down to 130 bar I get almost 5x18 mags on full power. Before the tune I only got 3.

      Hi Nathan, it sounds more to me that the gun is not optimally setup, my shot count was very bad until Gerhard at Patriot serviced it, polished the hammer a bit and adjusted the reg, valve and hammer spring. Those .25's are awesome guns, but they need a good tune to get the most out of them. Are you shooting slugs or pellets? Pellets have a bigger cavity in the back, and the slightly larger holed probe works like a charm, for flat based slugs I prefer the pin probe to get more air onto the slug which in terms mean less reg pressure needed and higher shot count. What reg pressure are you shooting at?
