One trick you should start out with is simple geometry
I have some easy tricks that I teach.
I'm having trouble myself I can hit the 1.5 but that's as far as I can go
My problem is, after i get into the 1.5 mount, the back string is perfectly in line with the other strings, so i can not hook only that string.

Yes that’s my problem
What you wanna do, is when rolling into the 1.5 mount, as the yoyo is rolling around your throwhand index finger, you have to move your non throwhand towards yourself just a little bit, and this will seperate the strings enough, that you can hook the only the back string and not both of them. First practice the 1.5 mount normally and when you are into it move your non throwhand towards you. You will see how the two string get seperated. Then practice this to be one fluid motion without stopping the momentum.

Awesome trick
This is a super cool - and super old trick. it's difficult enough as it is, but imagine trying to do it with a yo-yo like Night Moves. It's a very grabby trick. But the guy who originally made it was able to make it really super flow fast - it was very impressive, and I've Loved this trick ever since! Thanks for sharing

Finding the back string after the 1.5 and swinging it under your nth is a pain to do quickly...any tips?
I feel like a chump for struggling with such a simple trick.
When you land the 1.5 mount, make sure that the mount is over the front of your finger, with the string that you want to catch going along the back of your finger. That will separate it from the other two strings, so it is easy to find as you do the trick.
Damn it! This is the closest to first I'll ever be in a whole lifetime ;( so hard.....
But about the video, I'm used to much longer and complex tricks than this one here. I think this trick will take anyone less than two days to completely master it!! 👍😁

Greg Coffey They typically attend the yoyo contests nearest to where they are (i.e., Michigan), like Midwest Regionals, Mideast Regionals, Illinois States, Ohio States, and some of them typically go to US Nationals and World's, although not always. Oh, and I think they're usually one of the major sponsors of the Las Vegas Open, so they'd be there, too. Does that help?

What is a sub mount?
Christoff Tabing it's a mount from which you can get into other different mounts
The sub mount here is a very common mount in speed combos
Most speed combos would start from said mount
You can get into it by just getting into a side mount and sticking your throw hand into the loop on your not throw hand

Starlight 101 That's gotta be coming from someone that both 1) doesn't throw yoyos and 2) has never really watched yoyo tricks before. A few of them look similar because they all share some basic elements, like the throw, but beyond that, no, they don't look the same, not even close.
