- Yo-yo champion Harrison Lee explains yo-yo tricks in 26 levels of difficulty. Starting with tricks using an unresponsive yo-yo, Harrison progresses until he's popping the yo-yo into the air, and dancing the string in and out of the yo-yo's axle.

I don’t care what the subject is but when someone is so passionate about it and explains it like this I have so much respect. I just watched a bunch of yo-yo stuff and I don’t even know anything about yo yos
Same.
If you're even a little bit interested, and you have like $15 sitting around, you can grab a solid quality yoyo and get going - it's so much fun seeing yourself get better, and doesn't take long at all. Two weeks ago I stumbled into a random shop and they had a "retro" metal yoyo, I picked it up for nostalgia's sake. I ended up getting really into it, bought a quality yoyo, and in a week and a half learned so many tricks. It's a really neat "hidden talent" to have lol
You do now.

When I was a kid, people who could walk the dog were gods
facts lol
Good old time
Gods, those were the days
Walking a dog is easy. You put a lead on it, and let it go until you feel like you don't want your dog to go any further. If so, you press the button on your lead, and your dog will not travel any further.
@@watermelon5917 Wow I never knew how to walk a dog until now
It's always fun watching someone who is skilled and genuinely passionate about their craft explain things. It really makes me want to buy a yoyo
You should. They are low maintenance, low cost (as long as you dont hit your TV with it), and a lot of fun, especially once you start getting into the more advanced tricks.
Do some research before buying however. Expensive doesnt mean better.
Same!
@@Trippsy05 this, for starters expensive does not matter but when you get to highly advanced trick you will be able to feel the difference. A lot of the more high end yoyos do have a longer sleeping time and are way more balanced. I had cheap yoyos until I bought a terrarian, it really feels a lot more balanced and I can get a way longer sleeper out of a normal throw.
As always, do research before buying a throw though. Some are really expensive because they are limited editions, that does not mean they are high quality. So in that regard you are right.
If you do i'd recomend the magic yoyo v3 i bought it and it is great
Can't improve my skull tho
Also is good for beginers
“I’m a professional yoyoer” that’s how you already know the video is going to be legendary.
Fax
Yup
I legit was a professional yoyoer in 98-99 (11th place US Nationals in 99, Yomega and Team Losi sponsored), and this stuff is so beyond what we did back then it's incredible.
Yeah man, social media definitely drove a lot of innovation since 99-early thousands when I was competing too. You only ever really saw the tricks in person so the bar to reach was just whatever the most innovative guys were doing at the competitions. Just got my first yoyo I ordered since maybe 2002. It's a Magic yoyo N11 unresponsive. So far seems decent for $18. Gonna dive into trying to learn some of this more complex stuff that's gone on since.
I remember when the Bumble Bee came out - I coveted it mightily. But the local toy store didn't have one. Bought a Duncan one recently off eBay for nostalgic reasons - simple tricks take intense concentration. Completely different beast to a modern throw, even responsive ones. Tricks were proper hard.
Bro I swear to God this brought tears to my eyes cause real talk I never competed back then but I started back then as a kid and when I got a little older the internet really did help us people still throwing share a lot of ideas and create some crazy stuff and that's one of the main things that has made me stick with this for so long and it truly does make me proud to say I still throw to this day bro no joke. If you don't mind me asking what's your name? Yomega was my favorite team back in the day cause they always had good throws for cheap and the team just did a lot for yoyos back then. You really are probably one of the people that could have helped inspire me to do this as a child man seriously.
Did you tour elementary schools? I remember when the yomega guys came to my school in the 90s and sold yoyo’s.. there was one called the sleeper for $20 that everyone bought
“This yo-yo trick is also known as the ball breaker, because it can break your balls. Lots of mistakes can be made with this one.”

Level 26 is so easy, just do a Triangle Dismount to Trapeze to Throwhand Chopstick to Triangle Dismount (via Brent Stole) to a Reverse Hook into Gunslinger Double or Nothing (Yuuki Slack) into Tension-hook to Trapeze into a Bind Breakaway Throw, transitioning into a Throwhand Arm Around the Arm Pop Element to Arm Catch to a Non-throwhand Follow-Through Transition to Chopstick and finally into an Inward Pop to Seasick-like transition to Pop Above Elbow with an Undercount Trapeze and Dismount into a Plastic Whip into a Throwhand Yuuki-Slack to Double or Nothing, followed by a Slack Release to Double Trapeze, Dismount, Bind, Breakaway Throw, into a Yuuki Slack to Tech Chopstick Mount and finally a series of small movement transitions to a wrist mount, ending with a series of small pops to an Eli hop and a Trapeze to Inward Brain Twister Bind with a Horizontal Revolution Behind the Back - Inverted 1.5 Horizontal Catch & 1.5 Mount Downard Follow-through Slack UFO.

@@BumpyScope did u get it? i waited 4 weeks for mine lol
As a kid, you probably didn't have these ball bearing yo-yos that spin forever. I learned on an Imperial and Butterfly, as well as a Duncan Professional (which actually was not all that great -- I preferred the cheaper ones.) No way could I get a yo-yo to sleep as long as you could with these expensive yo-yos. My main tricks were Walk The Dog, Around the World, Rock the Baby, Skyrocket (catching it in a shirt pocket, if I was wearing a shirt with one), and a bunch of inside and outside passes that you could keep going pretty much for as long as you want until you screw up. Oh, and whatever that trick was called where you throw it sideways, stick a finger out to catch the string, and catch the yo-yo on a string. I haven't had a chance to try these new yo-yos. And the one where you throw it between your legs and let the fabric of your pants catch and freeze it on your backside.

@@QuickQuips I’d disagree, although those are good yoyos, they are unresponsive. For most beginners i’d recommend a yoyo that comes responsive like the recess first base. That way it’s easier to get into without the difficulty of learning a bind.

When I was in elementary school (late 90s-early 00s) walking the dog was as pro as anybody had ever gotten. Rocking the baby was an unseen legend.
‘Freestyling is when you just let the yo-yo do its thing’ he says as he moves his arms like a lunatic
Movements he repeated thousands of times. Freestyles in yoyo is, as he said, combining various elements you already know perfectly, in order to obtain fluid and flowy motions.
In that regard, Lee is absolutely awesome!
I'm 32 now and have been yoyo'ing on and off for about 23 years since someone did a yomega presentation when I was in the 4th grade. My collection is respectable and ranges all types of yoyos. Another very important thing in Yo-Yo-Ing is that you have to know when you’re in a bind. For example, if you do a trick that has a bind in it and you don’t know that the bind is there, the yoyo will come back to your hand without you knowing and you might not be able to catch it in time.
