Gentry : this is easy is you break it down

Mikolaj M For new throwers it might seem absurdly complex and difficult but to us veterans it’s not too hard to learn with an amazingly detailed tutorial like this. It took me a day to break down all the elements of the trick and on the second day I started hitting it consistently.
@@pallgumundsson1677 for me that never touched a yoyo this seens like witchcraft, something only possible with magic or some godly power.
PabloX732 Yeah for sure. Also to be fair I’ve been throwing yoyos for longer than Gentry 😅. I’ve also had the pleasure of being on two yoyo crews with him(previously Basecamp and currently Fist Salud). We’ve hung out in multiple countries and taken road trips together, we’re pretty good friends.👌🪀

I’m 34 and I’m starting to hit my horizontals. I am reaching my first year mark yoyoing. Wish I could of started younger. But I’m not out for the count. Thanks for the comment tag you sent me of your intro to horizontal yo-yo.

Bro. The metronome practice was unreal. Speed cubers use metronomes for practice, but I’ve never even thought about it with respect to yoyo... and that’s why you’re a world champ. GG, my dude. 👊🏻
This whole trick is great but the real gold is at the end of the video. Makes me want to see you reacting to your worlds freestyle breaking down why you put certain things where and picking your own mind.
This is by far the best tutorial I've ever seen for a complex combo. Super clean explanation & editing. I wish there're more tutorials like this but I guess it's hard to make one...

I think this is the best version yet of your tutorials! IMO you should always show the trick we'll be working on at the beginning and the end. This time you showed what we would be working on in the beginning, talked about the overall feel of the trick and how to vary it after teaching all the elements, and then again showed the portion of the trick performed from different angles at the end. I think you did a bit better job of that in this one than you did for part 2. For Buddha's Revenge you went right into the trick without even showing it, and at the end you didn't even discuss how to end it. Please keep up with these excellent tutorials, and please continue to use this format; which I think is a BIG improvement over your Cold Fusion and Buddha's Revenge vids.

Good throw + Shutter wide angle + some nice ceramic bearing (probably)

It is unresponsive, metal, but most importantly Gentry threw it at a stable strength. Just practicing your throw for a few days with the right yoyo can get it to spin for a long time. I would know, I started about 8 months ago and I still remember the first 3 days being annoying
With the shutter yo-yo u don’t need a really good throw to get about 4 minute spin time
It’s all about how even you keep your hands. The wider you make your layers of strings is more friction. The more you learn to keep your tricks very straight even clean the longer they will spin.
That was a cool trick, hopefully I could do it in the future. By the way, will you use the bimetal shutter or keep using the wide angle one for your next tournament Gentry?

How long can his shutter spin on the string wow I really want 1
Mad Gamer a lot of unresponsive metal yoyos can easily spin this long, but a lot of it depends on your throw. BTW, just cus Gentry uses one doesn’t mean that it is automatically the best. I have the Shutter but for many people (including me) it is not the favorite yoyo by any means. I personally love CLYW yoyos and the YYF Edge.

I can’t even do the sleeper....mostly because I only have a 2$ yoyo
Yeah ik how u feel I had a 2$ yo-yo but then i upgraded to a 4$ or 5$ yo-yo I don’t remember because I have it from 1year then I stoped you yo-yoing and came back to yoyos but it can’t stay 4seconds if it was on a string or mount. I wish I could get a shutter or replay they look good
Can you do this tricks with the replay pro
As long as it is unresponsive, it can perform these tricks if you are good enough. However, more professional yoyos are way better for these tricks since they are stable. Remember that this trick is VERY difficult for new players and should not be practiced on unless you have enough experience under your belt. As in, several months of practice.

This trick is just a little bit over my skill level I just learned quijibo this is a great trick that I want to learn tho
From my experience you learn best when you challenge yourself to a point where you have try really hard. It is highly rewarding mastering this combo as it has a lot of techniques involved that are good looking for combos. Have fun and good luck!
