    Loved the simplicity of this video.
    If someone is facing issues like a blank startup screen or flickering after this, do the following.
    > Make sure all the cables are connected correctly. Especially the display port at the top-right (near power port).
    > Reset NVRAM - turn down the mac. Press and hold 'Command + Option + P + R' and release after a couple of sound cues.
    > Reset SMC - Connect the power adapter and hold down the Shift + Control + Option keys AND the power button at the same time. Release all keys and the power button simultaneously. The charging light on devices with MagSafe adapters may change colors, indicating that SMC has been reset.
    Worked for me. Hope it does for you too!

    For all of those struggling with the keyboard's cables, try putting a stripe of tape all the way long the width of this flat devil to help you out. I can't believe I did spend more time trying to put this back, than taking apart the whole system.

    This video made the procedure much clearer for me, and therefore doable. The sound levels are wildly off between the narrated portions and the music-only segments: listeners beware and get ready to turn down the volume, FAST!

    Worth mentioning for anyone who's planning to dig into their own computers, always make sure to use static-free environments, and ground yourself (electrically) before you start touching the internals on a computer, because if you don't, there's a chance you could damage the components through static discharge. The easiest way to ground is to touch something metal before you begin. If you feel a static shock, you had some static built up, and now it's gone, congrats!

    Replaced my 2012 macbook pro using the iFixit guide, wasn't too hard, just be careful on the cables. Temp is significantly better, around 80c before and around 65c after, very happy with it. I would recommend to replace your thermal paste if your macbook pro is old.

    • @lenny3394
      @lenny3394 Před 3 lety +1

      @@skyline_741 should be fine. As long as it doesn't idle above 60 it should be normal. Also depends a lot wether you are in a hot or cold room and if the laptop is on a blanket or in bed it will run hotter because airflow through the vents is limited.
      What you can do is download the Intel power gadget and then in the menu bar select test and test maximum graphics frequency and all thread CPU frequency andonitore the temperature. After you disable the stress stest the temperatures should fall back down rather fast and reache below 60 after like 20 seconds. If I run all thread frequency on the i7 it reaches nearly 90 degrees and if I then add maximum GPU frequency it runs at 104 degrees. I have looked up the T-junction for my CPU and it is at 105 degrees so I think it's normal. Apple just always let's them run as hot as possible to keep the fans down.
      If you want your mac to run cooler and hopefully maybe last longer I recommend doing two tjings:
      -Download turbo boost switcher and disable turbo boost (hyper-threading)
      -Dowbload Mac's fan control and select custom based on sensor. Here you can change your fan curve to make it cool before the CPU even gets that hot. I recommend monitoring your temperatures for a week and then selecting a temperature range and sensor. I have personally selected the CPU proximity sensor and it will start increasing the fans at 45 degrees andac them out at 57.

    Watched your video several times, I replaced my thermal paste with TM30, and my Mac now works again like new. Great video and not rocket science, as long as you take your time, being careful, and paying attention to detail between video and your own computer. I recommend this video to others with the same overheating problem on Macs if you want to say loads of money and time waiting for repair.

  • @MrPiikkipallo
    @MrPiikkipallo Před rokem

    So you need to remove the entire motherboard to swap the paste? Ugh, on a macbook air it is so much easier, just remove the fan and heatsink. I'll need to do this another day then, but I wonder if this will make even any difference. I used to have a 2014 macbook air and it got so uncomfortably hot from very light applications like just watching youtube, hot to the point that it would give you a second degree burn if you had on your lap. Well I changed the thermal paste with noctua nt-h1 thermal paste, but to my dissappointment, it didn't change anything. The macbook air was still loud and hot, the tiny heatsink/pipe just completely insufficient.
    In comparison I also had an old thinkpad, that would get the cpu to 100 degree celsius and shut itself off. I changed the thermal paste on that as well, and then it was silent and cool. That's one thing I really dislike about alumium shelled laptops, they retain too much heat making the entire laptop chassis one big heatsink. A plastic chassis will not do this. It's a shame, but not being able to use your laptop on your lap, feels pretty bad. I don't know I like macos and macbooks look so sleek, but the cooling solution is a real bummer. Might need to sell this one and just look for a thinkpad instead.

I'll share the Evangelion with you: sadly, we've all broken God's perfect moral law written in our hearts, so before a holy just Judge, we're found guilty, so because God loves us so much, He didn't decide to get rid of evil at once or not create us, etc; He instead became a man, lived a perfect sinless life, shared the real meaning of the law written in our hearts, carried our sins, paid our sentence, our fine, so that if we choose, we can turn from our sins, accept the grace He offers and live with our holy Father where there'll be no more tears, no more death, pain, etc, this after we're resurrected by the same power He was resurrected. The plan for forgiveness, eternal life, salvation is one and simple, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. This is shared in pure love and hope 🎀.
