The Baby Lich is one of the funniest things in the entirety of Adventure Time. Like, just look at him. The absolute goober. The little guy is in time out, and for what, does he want to end all playtime or something??

@simonsonian8977 yeah they throw around brother a lot since they were the first two of their kind, but I see romantic subtext with it because of how their story parallels Frankenstein. In that story, the abomination Frankenstein made demanded to be made a partner so that he couldn't be alone but was denied that because Frankenstein was scared of the creature reproducing and creating a race of monsters. PB, on the other hand, was perfectly willing to give Lemongrab a partner. And it turned out that the two of them did create a race of abominations

Actually seeing how when Winter king loses his magic and his voice changes back to that of Simon it's safe to say that Winter king isn't actually Simon but is still Crown persona just devoid of magical insanity, he just retains simon's memories the same way our simon retained some of ice king's memories.
I don't think it works that way - (our) Simon and Ice King ARE the same person, and so Winter King and that Simon also are the same person.

@@kaialone well, they are the same _person_ but not the same _being_, if that makes sense. Simon remembers the Ice King, but he does not feel like he IS Ice king, due to his mental state.
I think they mean "person" in the philosophical way, not the physical. Winter King gave the impression that he conquered the crown, but on the contrary he seemed to fall into the crown's curse worse than Ooo Simon ever did.
I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that the babies universe was the result of BMO's wish creating it. They wished for everyone to be babies but it turned BMO into a non-sentient baby-monitor in that universe.

I think one of the reason is just how much Finn doesn't want to dwell on his thoughts about Jake at all, consider what he said in Together Again

This is because the animals that walk on their hind legs and talk are regular animals that were just mutated to be that way while rainicorns, Breezy (not a normal bee), and other creatures are magical beings. That's why Jake is a normal dog in Farmworld, and Cake is a normal cat in Fionnaworld. Basically,regular animals that are nonmagic and just mutated talk/walk on hindlegs would be turned normal if the magic and mutation left. They weren't created as a result of magic but already existed. They're real animals. Magical or created beings like Starchy, The Hot Dog Princess, and The Banana Guards are created beings, so magic leaving them would either make them human or make them regular food/objects.
6:29 Simon said in episode 4 that as the Ice King, he could take on an army of jerks like The Scarab. So I don't see why a more experienced Ice King with complete control couldn't stop him. Also, the crown was supposedly powerful enough to stop a catalyst comet, and powerful enough to affect Golb. Two entities that, from what we've seen, are far more powerful than The Scarab.
Yeah, I moreso meant I felt like the Scarab himself would be more experienced or have contingencies. I wasn't dissing the Crown's power!
I gotta say - I love the amount of folks that react to new AT episodes. I rememer how scarce the reactions to the original series were (and still are, sadly), but I'm glad that so many people are interested in the Fionna and Cake mini-series.
Also, I really like all the little edits you make in your reactions! They may seem like small details, but they make the reaction very special in it's own way!!

I watched Adventure Time growing up and have always loved it. Probably would be a completely different person without the show. Something magical having a show still air new content after all this time. I'll definitely react to anything else they release. WHICH IS HOPEFULLY A LOT MORE STUFF

I love the series so much, and I hope that in a few years they release a new little spin-off again or something, because I've been so starved off of the AT content lately. The Fionna and Cake series has been incredible so far, and I'm so happy it got released. Can't wait for the new episodes in two days!!!
Different time. AT started 2011 and CZcams was still limited to 15 minute videos back then. There simply weren't a lot of places to even talk about animation on the web. Tumblr, the beginnings of Twitter (this was before every corporation had a Twitter), some niche forums.
but now we have a generation that grew up with these 2010's shows and are even in indutstry.
@@raze2012_ i mean, duh, but AT kept coming out until 2018 - there were plenty of time for some folks to start reacting. And some did! I actually really enjoyed TheFlamingShark's reactions to AT and still rewatch them every year, because of how fun they are. Either way, I'm glad that more people are reacting to the show now :>

It's interesting that the Winter King is so clearly in denial (the ice copies, pretending he overcame the crown through "force of will"...) . Wasn't that the main trait of the Candy Element in the Elements miniseries? Maybe when he zapped the madness of the crown in PB's brain basket, he got something in return.
I feel pretty confident in saying that this is by far my favorite episode so far. It has two incredible musical numbers (Baked with Love in particular is a real bop), stellar animation, great and interesting character growth, poignant moments, and Cake wanting every set of AU doppelgangers to kiss is a fun running gag. In fact, this shipping trash, iPad kid version of Cake has grown on me a lot more than I thought she would. Her naivety toward hurting others (especially her insensitivity toward Simon) rubbed me the wrong way at the start, but all these little moments have really endeared me her and Fionna. Good stuff all around.

And yeah the more time I spent editing this episode the more I loved it. It's genuinely nearly perfect. I can't think of a complaint and it was a fun unique universe and twist to explore and had fun banger songs?? Amazing

This episode was so good. I loved every second of it (especially the Marshall and Gary stuff)
A theory I've seen on Tumblr or twitter I don't remember which one that I subscribe to is that 'the winter King' universe differed from prime Ooo because Marceline died as a kid, probably to oozes or something. Hence Ice!Marceline is still so young, stuck as the age Simon last saw the original as. This extra bit off loss shaped Ice King's personality just a bit more cruel (or something) that made him come up with the projecting the madness away plan.

I honestly think that maybe Simon will succeed at regaining his magic and insanity, but maybe only for a moment before being frame one cured by either fionna and cake or even just after effects of Betty’s wish. I just don’t see this being as easy as Simon thinks.
Man, but everything with the Winter King made me so damn uncomfortable. Was relieved to see it was justified.

12:41 Not really is I think the point. Fiona literally hasn't been seeing these people as, like, people who existed before her and will continue to afterwards. And it just dawned on her how much damage she's been doing.
What I love abt this episode is how u could see the true nature of Winter King from the very beginning. From his jokes to his general uptight attitude u could see that he's actually a selfish person. I mean, he said it himself: making an ice copy of ur loved 1 is unethical, and that's exactly what he did with Marcy. Also, I don't believe the quite popular notion of the Winter King not being Simon. We have to remember that even Ice King was technically Simon. A lot of Ice King's personality was just Simon grieving without having the capacity to process that grief. Remove the curse and that capacity appears. Yet we've seen what happened to Simon when he could properly process his feelings. So Winter King is basically a more self-centered version of Simon, who decided not to process anything at all and instead just dump it all on PB. So the change in his voice is probably due to him literally modifying and changing himself to the point where he just didn't care abt Betty even (a thing that neither Simon nor Ice King could do). As for Fionna, what she did wrong was to jump without thinking only judging the situation at 1st glance and not taking into account the consequences of her actions. Ironically, that's what Finn used to do at the beginning of AT, but he knew his environment and Fionna does not. This shows that maybe her and Cake's main problem isn't magic-related after all.

Yo man you should watch chainsaw man, know you don't watch alot of anime but the dub is great so it's a pretty easy transition. It's good alot of mental stuff going on and would be a nice change of pace to see something darker on the channel.
