- I finally took the time to finally reorganize my puzzle room. I also got to unbox some fan mail, chat and sort through my collection, and think about what I'd like to get started on soon. I also talk about how I maximized certain areas throughout my home in order to create more space in my puzzle room. Plus, some food for thought.

It looks great Mandy! My husband asked me the other day how many puzzles I had. 200 he said? I said no that’s not possible. Let’s just say I was almost done counting when I got to 200 🤦♀️. I have no regrets. Their very presence makes me happy!

Anybody who is passionate about a hobby or craft is going to accumulate supplies that others may think is unnecessary. You know what? They can mind their own business. It was so satisfying watching you organize the boxes on each of the shelves. You have a beautiful collection and I'm so happy for you that it brings you joy.
I did a basement declutter a few months ago and I was able to take about 30 puzzles to the veteran's charity shop. The sweet person working that day was absolutely thrilled when she saw them, and 5 of the puzzles found a new home before I had even finished bringing them all in from the car. It was the best feeling in the world to pass on these puzzles to the next person to enjoy. Don't worry though, I still have my stack of puzzles I have yet to do, and others that are important to me to keep.

Thank you so much! I am super proud of my collection and my puzzle room...even though there's another pile of set growing on the floor again 🤣 But it does feel real good to give stuff away. I've given away so much stuff from other rooms throughout my house in the last month, it's so freeing!

I have been a quilter for many, many years and a fabric addict as well. I started physically puzzling last year (as opposed to electronic puzzles) and am turning into a puzzle addict while trying out many brands. I do not see anything wrong with this.
My sister crochets, and she has a wall of yarn LOL.
Trying out different brands is really what has made my collection grow even quicker. I don't mind being a puzzle addict too 😊and I'm super proud of my collection!

So true! I kept getting distracted from my room because I wanted to work on so many other areas throughout the house. We had a really big clear out and it felt amazing. And we still have other areas that need attention. I'm even getting motivated to start rearranging furniture, but my husband told me to take it easy 🤣
I love de-clutter organizing videos and seeing behind the scenes of a puzzler's life. How we store our collections or improvise as our collection changes, how we set up our puzzle spaces, puzzle-related things we use, etc. My puzzle collection is also always needing to be tidied up.
It really is a never ending cycle LOL. I already have another pile of puzzles building up since filming this video 😂Oh well, I guess I need to spend more time on organizing again.
It's not just puzzlers, many hobbyists and artists collect. For me, it is having enough puzzles or any hobby stuff (same with watercolors) to do when I actually get to retire.

Omg!! My sisters and I watched the faerie tale. We used to rent them from our local video store!!! I loved them as a kid! And as for collecting I agree with you. Sometimes you just need to give yourself permission to treat yourself!
That series was the best. I remember always going back to the library hoping they had a different fairie tale. But if it was one I already saw, I would just borrow it again. Actually, I would just the borrow the whole stock of them out every time I was there 🤣

I need to organize, donate, and complete puzzles. The hard part is just getting started. Now, I'm more motivated and it actually looks kind of fun just knowing the end result will be an improvement. "I dont want to put puzzles here.......yet" I busted out laughing when you said that!!! Totally understand that. I LOVE your set up! You still have room to add more puzzles as well. Getting rid of nine is better than not getting rid of any at all. And think of the empty boxes you got rid of!!!! I tend to keep them since I use them when I'm sorting.
I need to do something similar. I'm near Mickey and between puzzle swaps and thrift stores, my collection keeps growing. I have two 7 foot bookshelves that are full of puzzles. Now they have expanded into my bedroom's bookshelves. However I agree that part of the hobby is the collecting. I have patterns and fabric from my quilting days, yarn for knitting, cross stitch books and linen. I can open a craft store!!!! I tend to organize by brand, then collections within the brand, then by puzzle piece size. Looking forward to you next haul video.

Shelf in your hallway looks so fantastic! I started out buying the dollar tree puzzles as I felt that it was too expensive to buy new puzzles. Then moved on to thrift store puzzles. Then Black Friday sales this year..before your know it …I even bought a full price puzzle… the Karen puzzles 1000 piece one. I’d love to see you do the 3000 piece one … maybe I’ll invest in it in the future but it just seems intimidating with sooooo many pieces. I’d like to see what you think of it as you always have such funny comments. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you! I'm really happy with the way everything turned out in the end. But now I have another growing pile of puzzles that need to be sorted out 😅 Sales are really hard to pass by! I do my best to only buy stuff on sale, but there are a number of them that I couldn't help but pay full price for, like my Disney puzzles from the parks.
I'll probably work on Karens 3k set when I hit 3k subscribers, so I should have enough time till then to gain my courage to get it started LOL.
I’m working on a Hometime puzzle right now. I found it at the back of the puzzle cabinet, never opened. Date on it is 2004. It is SO crumbly. I look forward to seeing if you find them crumbly. Maybe newer puzzles are tighter. I’m also a big proponent of swifter dusting😊. Love your channel.

I had a feeling those Hometown sets would be crumbly! They were giving me those vibes when I first sifted through them LOL. I really need to get started on one soon, but I have so many that I don't even know which one to try LOL. I'm also pretty sure that whichever one I try will have missing pieces. We shall see!

I don’t buy a puzzle until I need a puzzle so I never have more than one that hasn’t been done. And unless I know for sure that I’ll be doing it again, it gets donated when it’s finished. Therefore, although I puzzle often, I only have a few in my ‘keep’ collection. Don’t get me wrong, I’d have hundreds of puzzles in my collection but I just HAVE to control myself for lack of space! (damn I hate self control lol) 🥹😄

Another great video! 😊🎉 My puzzles are starting to spill out of the cabinet I have and into the living room 😂😅 So, this really inspired me to either get rid of some or reorganize. 22:59 So, the farm scene Cardinal Puzzle from Dollar General was very frustrating. All the pieces were cut exactly the same, so the sky was just a guessing game. It is not one I would suggest.

That's interesting about the farm puzzle, I thought that would be easy. But if those darn pieces are all cut the same then it doesn't matter how easy the image looks...ugh I hate when pieces are cut like that. Thanks for the warning LOL. I collect ravensbuger , holiday and theme sets. I also love springbok , masterpieces, and galison. I love doing my halloween puzzles every year. I own 80 to 90 puzzles and have about 10, I've never completed
I love buying new puzzles it's my hobby . I think collecting and buying jigsaw puzzles is cool. It's a healthy hobby it's good for you and it's relaxing. Thanks for the video it was good. Love the hauls
You got an excellent number of completed sets! I don't know if I'll ever reach anywhere close to getting more completed sets than non completed LOL. We shall see 😅 And puzzling is for sure a healthy hobby. It's especially wonderful after a long day at work.

I love your declutterring videos Mandy. And it gives you chance to find that puzzle you that have not seen like in forever🤣my puzzle mats are cardboard project boards from Walmart. Nice new shelf 🥰My collection is in constant rotation, I also collect movies, dvds and blu rays. I share the love. My son's highschool library loves puzzles and they have a designated table where there is always a puzzle on, the kids and the staff work on the puzzle all week long.

My goodness, there were a number of sets that I completely forgot about until I pulled them out LOL. I really need to keep a better eye on things so that I don't end up buying something I already have. That's so cool that your son's school leaves a puzzle out for everyone to work on.
I love getting clean and purge bits- but I also have a pure joy of being surrounded with all my collections- you know when the pandemic hit and in my head I thought OMG what if I don't have stuff to do- trust and believe I didn't even make a dent and still have plenty to do!!! This year no buying puzzles for me- I can swap and get gifts- but Jan-Oct is off limits....I need to shop oct though because I do love advent LOL
I'm only giving myself a no shop because I really want to get to some and if I let myself shop I just keep doing new stuff!

🤩 your collection is amazing. I have just started puzzling and have no space for storage. Needless to say I have been very selective on purchasing puzzles. I went online to check my library but sadly they do not carry puzzles. However, during my online search I did come across a store just a few miles away that allow you to either buy or rent puzzles. I was able to check out 4 puzzles for 20 bucks and have 2 months before returning. For someone like me with very limited space for puzzle storage this is the answer. I also have an Aunt who loves to puzzle and we will swap with each other.
Thank you 🤗 Renting is a fantastic option especially if you're limited on space. And that's a great price too. I wish I had something like that close to me! And you're lucky to have a relative who's a puzzler as well. I'm the only one in the entire family who cares about puzzles 😅 I'm so happy to have everyone here to have puzzle chats!

Great video. You have inspired me. I live in a 1930's bungalow with a second floor which is one large room with sloped ceilings. I have many books and 137 puzzles. Puzzles are stacked on the floor because I cant have tall shelves. Two sloped ceiling closets have puzzles also. They are stacked by brand. Many Buffalo Charles Wysocki. I put together one puzzle a week and I enjoy shopping for them.
You have a great collection, especially with those Buffalo Wysocki sets, I love them! Shopping is too much fun. I just got to do my best to keep on top of the growing piles as time goes on. I already have one forming since filming this video 🤣
I just did a KI puzzle with my daughter and it was SO MUCH FUN!!! I would love to get a few more by that brand! 💕

We have you to thank for feeling less odd about collecting puzzles well into triple digits.
As of today, we have purchased a total of 153 puzzles.
Of those we have gifted away 21 for the advent season, after putting them together.
Of the remaining 132, we have started to use 33 in our attempts at speedpuzzling, after which we plan to donate them.
That still leaves us with 99 jigsaws in the permanent collection!
Out of the 153 my husband and I have put together 78, and out of those we completed 50 last year. Which means that we average 25 jigsaws individually per year.
We prefer larger ones than those you work on, but still, your channel has been up for what? Half a year? You’re doing fine!
Congrats on your work. Yours is an original voice in a sea of speedpuzzlers and massive jigsaws afficionados.
And on that subject, I should go back to our first 3000 pcs challenge. A gargantuan jigsaw from Aquarius called A Magical Mystery Tour of Beatles Songs. 45 inches by 32 inches when is completed. Just about what fits on our dining table.

Wow, you've worked on so many puzzles! That's fantastic. I'm curious, what puzzle counts do you typically work on? I have a couple 3000 count puzzles that terrify me at the moment, it'll be awhile till I feel like I'm ready for them. I just started working on my first 2000 piece set, and I must say it's quite overwhelming! I just looked up that Beatles puzzles, and it looks so amazing, and super difficult.

Difficult indeed, so much so that it was beginning to piss me off, which I don’t recall feeling about any puzzle before. My husband has an amazing patience and enjoys the process in a way I obviously don’t, something I had not expected to discover. This puzzle requires perseverance.
Two days ago, I shook off my usual mindset and began going piece by piece, locating its position, encouraging myself to be happy with just that, rather than excitedly trying to find what connects with what.
We’ve never framed a puzzle before but this sucker is going on the wall! I believe it would physically ache to put it apart.
Our first puzzle was a 1500 pcs Ravensburger. Madness, I know, but because we began there, 1000 count jigsaws became our usual fare. We’ve done some with 2000 pieces, four, I think, and they are daunting.
However, winters in Scandinavia last forever.
Only recently have we discovered that 500 piece sets are a lot of fun too. I’ve heard some call them “snack puzzles”. Not a full meal, but very satisfying just the same.
A definition that is open to interpretation because many smaller jigsaws can be terribly difficult.
Case in point Rainbow butterflies. Or Butterfly Rainbow, variations of the illustration can be found in Eurographics, Enjoy and I am sure other places.
The one we have is from Tactic (a Finish brand), and is nice, 500 pieces and a pain in the neck.

UPDATE:
Hi Mandy, I thought you’d get a kick out of this. In a five hour marathon, during which I ended up climbing the table to get a better view, we finally finished the Beatles puzzle.
It got dark, we got hungry, we didn’t care, opened a beer instead, it was triumph or bust.
The dopamine hit was amazing.
And we also got a healthy dose of humble pie. After so many puzzles we were beginning to get cocky. Tom Masse’s painting is in places ten hues of brown and a great challenge.

I sort my puzzles by season and landscapes since I tend to do mainly and landscape puzzles.

Good job. I only do puzzles once. So they are on posterboard and glued. So i have 3 piles of completed puzzles. Too many to count.. So i have given some away but am happy with my completed collection. Lol

😂I do anything to have a TK painting. I've seen some in some of the fancy stores in Disney Magic Kingdom and my goodness, so tempting but not so budget friendly 😅. I'd need to be a super CZcams megastar to afford something like that.

My puzzles are stored in a cupboard behind doors so I am not worried about how it looks, more on volume and functionality (how many can I get in there and still find the one I want!!). I have about 120 in my collection of over 200 piece count (which I call 'adult' puzzles) and very many 200 pcs or less which I would consider kids puzzles. I organise my 'adult' puzzles by box size first, then brand within that size so I can use the space effectively. I have 38 in my to do pile and about 50 on my wishlist!
You're very welcome! Wow you have a big collection too 🤩 I realize I also organize by box size as well. Not only because of the look, but like you said, to use the space effectively. Gotta be able to fit as much as possible too 😅
A few more puzzles than I have, which is about 110-120. Though I have yet to puzzle 85 of them. As collecting puzzles go, I think that I tend to accumulate puzzles as they are fairly cheap compared to other hobbies, and they give a lot of value in regards to time spent on puzzling. But the amount of time required to do a puzzle along with the fairly cheap prize results in easily accumulating a lot of to-do puzzles. And as long as one has space for it, and of course money, then I do not see much of a problem with it. I figured out that my puzzle collection, averaged, would amount to purchasing one high end gaming computer, which would be outdated in a few years, like 5 years or so. Or purchasing two of the more expensive remote controlled cars. Compared to remote controlled jet-planes, well, they would cost easily 5 or 6 times what my puzzle collection have cost me. And one crash of such a remote controlled jet often equals all of that money lost. So if one lives on a more tight budget then the puzzle hobby is a hobby where one usually can afford a large-ish collection. And for the value in time spent puzzling that they give, one should not feel ashamed giving oneself a new puzzle, or two, once in a while. The only time I feel a bit ashamed in regards to the puzzle hobby is that if I want to browse puzzles in a store, I (a single, well grown man) will have to go to a kid store / toy-store, as it is there puzzles are sold in my country, as well as in book stores. But the limited market for puzzle in a small place such as where I live, results in very few puzzles for sale in book stores, so I will have to browse puzzles in a toy store if I want to find something somewhat interesting. And that feels a bit strange personally for me, so I do not like that as much. So most my puzzles have been ordered online. Luckily shipping to my country is quite easy, as I order most my puzzles from a neighbouring country of Germany, where Ravensburger puzzles is manufactured.
I completely agree with you on that puzzles offer a lot of value. I love that you can work on them multiple times, and the bigger count you have, the longer you can spend time on it. I can understand how it can be uncomfortable for you to have to shop at toy stores for puzzles. Thank goodness we have online shopping so that we don't even have to leave our homes. Where I live, it does take me a lot of travel time to get to the stores that I know sell puzzles. But to be honest, even though I know I can get more from the online stores, I very much enjoy going to the shops and sifting through the puzzle selection.

This is funny as I sorted out mine last week. I don’t keep many that I’ve completed. Maybe only 9. The rest I sell or donate. So, not counting those I have 61 to do.
I always find it odd people getting offended about how other people spend their own money. If you can’t spend your own hard earned cash on something you enjoy after paying all the necessities, where is the fun in life? Also it’s no one’s business what I spend my own money on.
Totally agree with you. We work hard and deserve to take care of ourselves too after all is said and done. You only live once!
Some people consider collecting as part of a hobby. I don’t understand why someone would care about my collections unless I was borrowing money from them.
Puzzles feel like art that I can participate in. So instead of having a gallery of art, I have boxes of art that I get to puzzle and even benefit my brain with.
I started collecting puzzles at the beginning of the pandemic. Right now I have 365 puzzles in my to-do pile. I do plan on doing more puzzles, trading, and slowing down with spending a little. Right now I’ve made a goal of finishing 12 puzzles (six 500 piece, six 1000 piece) before I can buy anymore and plan on going to a puzzle exchange at the end of the month.
I totally agree with everything you said! Your collections is huge, that's fantastic 🤩 and good luck with your goal! I know how hard it can be to stick to a "no buy" period. I can never stick to it LOL.

I only do most puzzles once. That's why I donate, give away or swap most of my puzzles.
For the most part, I tend to only do them once as well. But I think that's mostly because there are so many others I want to get started on that it makes no sense for me to restart one again 😅
I got those nasty comments about my puzzles before. Like you, this is my only hobby. This is how I treat myself. I love puzzling because it's like a mediation for me. There are worst things I could be spending my money on, would they rather I gamble or blow it off on drugs or booze? Sheesh! I think people like that must be miserable or are just haters.
As for organizing, I do it by brand. Although I have piles for sell, trade, and donate that isn't very organized at all. I try to get to a critical mass and then post them, bring to swaps, or donate them all at once.
Nasty comments are so unnecessary. Sometimes I think people who are like that are maybe missing something in their life. All we can do is ignore the hate, and hope they find that thing that brings them joy.
My donate pile is very unorganized and still thrown together in that corner. I have a vey bad feeling though that it's somehow going to end up back on my shelves 🤣
I've put myself on a buying freeze until I've worked through the pile of puzzles. Instead, I'm now buying puzzles for the children at work - it's not for me, so ... :D
Every time I try to go on a buying freeze, I fail miserably. To be honest, I should go on one now. I already have another pile forming in my room that needs to be put away 😅

So here's the thing with people having such strong opinions on collecting and owning things. There is this huge trend to be eco-friendly and with that tends to come a desire for minimalism. I liken it to the 'bad' vegans that make all vegans look bad: there are a very vocal set of people who think that they're doing the right thing by pushing their beliefs onto others (religion is the same way). Is it good to want to be conscious of your consumption? Absolutely. Is it our place to tell anyone else to live by your rules? Absolutely not. What works for one doesn't work for everyone.
I love to shop. I love to own things. It makes me happy. Most of my hobby purchases are thrifted now, but I will buy new on occasion. Puzzling is a great hobby that get into if price is a factor because where I live there are stores where you're paying Dollar Tree prices for puzzles that are amazing quality and unless I choose images that are lower piece counts geared toward children, I've had great luck in them being complete. I'm batting about .500 for kids puzzles, but well past 90% for puzzles geared toward adults. I don't thrift because of the environmental impact the aforementioned complainers of overconsumption go on about, but rather because my financial situation doesn't allow me to buy new. I can buy more secondhand puzzles than I can keep up with while new I wouldn't have any puzzles to complete if I spent about the same as I do while thrifting.
As long as someone's habits and hobbies aren't becoming dangerous (i.e. a drink is fine, but alcoholism needs help...shopping is fine, being a hoarder or financially ruining your family needs help) then I just say people need to mind their business.

Me and a friend bagged up a several bags of jigsaw puzzles for everyone who wants them as a gift 🎁 and hobby. Hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! If a trash bag is all you have, then it'll do. People will care more about what's actually inside the bag, especially if the puzzles are still in decent quality. Instead of chocolate this year, I got a box full of different Disney coffees!
🧩🎉my bad puzzle buying habit is: feeling bad for the puzzles no one buy at the thrift store and buying them knowing the image is of no interest to me either.
🧩i usually have a secondary reason for buying them besides the image, like the year of manufacturing or the brand. But i still feel like it's not the best, i could save the 3 dollars for a puzzle w/a better suited image that shows up later.
🧩i just feel so bad for the sad lonely puzzles that nobody wants.
