- I finally got around to trying out all of my KI puzzles that were sent to me from the company Playview Brands. I had a lot to work on here, and it became especially challenging whilst I was very sick, but I got through it all. First, we'll go through the unboxing for a quick look at what we're going to be working with, then work our way to completing each one. Then after gathering all my thoughts, I start trying to figure out whether this experience has beaten one of my favorite brands. I'm curious to hear what you have to say about KI Puzzles! Let me know if you agree or if you think I'm crazy.

possibly better than buffalo games, huh? i may have to add some their images to my growing wishlist on amazon. speaking of buffalo games, i just learned that dowdle is a line from buffalo games. (i thought it was a brand.) have you done one of the dowdle puzzles?
The image is fantastic, but my eyes kept wandering back to her lifeless face 🤣
I know, it was a bold statement considering I'm a real big fan of Buffalo. Maybe I need to work on more sets to take more time to figure out my thoughts between the two. In regards to Dowdle, I don't know if this is something new. I know Dowdle is the artist, but looking at my set here, nothing on it mentions Buffalo, as if it was its own entity. I know Buffalo bought out Ceaco, so I wonder if they've also bought Dowdle or something like that. I've heard Target is now carrying the Dowdle/Buffalo sets. I need to look more into this.
Ravensburger is my favorite puzzle for moving large pieces and the fit is perfect. Plus the price for the quality counts to me. They are great abd quick if you missing a piece also as they replace the puzzle no questions asked. Thx for the review.

All the Citites at Midnight are on my wishlist. I love the colors so much. I'm so happy with your report of the quality.

I know we have many houses and you keep forgeting we are neighbours, but as there is a cat on the steps of the pink house you can see it is indeed mine. Please feel free to take a baguette and please do bring me a slice of the pie.

- I purchased KI Puzzles' Midnight in San Francisco several months back, but I have not put it together, yet. After watching your review video, I went ahead and purchased Midnight in Paris and Midnight in New York. Thank you for your review video, it has really made me feel good about the purchases and I am looking forward to assembling all three of them.
Hope you enjoy them! I think I'll also be adding the Paris and NY set to my collection at some point. The colors are so amazing that I'd bet they'd look great on display.
Thank you for reviewing the KI brand puzzles. As I stated in a earlier video, I worked "Hobbs and Topper" by KI some time ago. The image was lovely but I had some puzzle pieces where the image was lifting off in a fragile film that I had to ever so carefully glue back down. Your review of these KI puzzles, particular Solomon's puzzle (Confectionary) and the Midnight San Francisco puzzle has made me resolve to give KI a second chance since the "Hobbs and Topper" may have been a one-off. The colors of the San Francisco puzzle are so attractive - soft, has a water-color appearance, and yet so gorgeous.
I'm sure sometimes it can just be luck, but I was glad my 550/1000ct sets didn't have any damaged pieces. Those two sets were my absolute favorite, especially the San Francisco one. I was glad I managed to get through all of them in the end, because I feel like I was able to form a solid opinion about the brand in general. I really need to get back to working on a 2nd sets from brands I've only tried once before.
I got a KI puzzle in a lot swap. I don't remember the image. I wasn't particularly into it. Once getting it open I gave up, right away. As I had many with lifting image and wasn't an image I was in love with. I wasn't impressed. I guess I give it another try if I loved the image and got it for cheap or free. Lol.
Never heard of KI, definitely need to check it out!!
Oh yes you must! I would definitely pick up more of their sets, especially from the Cities In Midnight series.

I’ve done a Ki puzzle by Rosalindee Solomon. The cut and piece shapes reminded me very much of White Mountain.
Yes, you're right about the piece shapes/cut. Now you're making me want to work on another White Mountain set, it's been awhile.
Love Rosiland Solomon puzzles, I have 2 from KI. I need more!

I've done a few KI's. If I remember correctly they all had a shiny or high sheen finish . For sure very nice colors in the SF puzzle. I hope you're feeling better!
It's funny, sometimes I really can't stand glossy finishes, and other times I'm not too bothered by them. I guess for me it just really depends on the image and the use of colors.

Oh boy, I hope we don't have another bad run with illness during Christmas, especially since my daughters birthday is two days before. We already missed out with Thanksgiving. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and making sure I take my vitamin C.

The karmin international jigsaw puzzles remind of the ceaco jigsaw puzzle company. I love the jigsaw puzzles you assemble on all of the episodes on your CZcams channel! I don’t assemble 550 piece jigsaw puzzles unless the picture and size catches my eye and interests. I love cat jigsaw puzzles a lot! Good luck!😍
😁 I feel the same way about 500ct sets, as I prefer to spend money on higher counts as it makes me feel like I get more for my money.
@@thepuzzledmandy are you feeling better? It doesn’t matter which jigsaw puzzle you find as long the picture catches your eyes. If you get a higher number of jigsaw puzzles, that’s one thing. I saw a 2,000 piece springbok jigsaw puzzle for $19 at Walmart. They have one slogan: save money live better Walmart. Going to a bookstore and finding jigsaw puzzles are tricky to find. I recommend going to thrift stores to get them. When you get a jigsaw puzzle, think of the price of the jigsaw puzzle value. Low costs doesn’t always mean it is expensive; it looks it. I understand that buying jigsaw puzzles are higher price with a higher price, and when I went to a thrift store, there’s excellent quality and looks new. The woman who works there does not charge tax. You pay the subtotal only. Remember, getting more expensive puzzles means there’s a problem. The pieces aren’t worth much when seeing when the box is opened. Be careful! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Have you been good this year? If you showed good behavior, you will get gifts from Santa Claus. If you were naughty, you’d get coal. Santa told me I am on his nice list.
Great review!!! Loved the San Francisco puzzle. Went onto Amazon UK to see if it was available…£44.72!!! That’s around $56.16…so won’t be buying that…☹️
Oh wow! Yea, the overall quality and experience was fantastic, but not over $50 fantastic 😂 Maybe you can see if eBay has any at more reasonable prices.

We're happy to be getting back into the groove of things after all that. Just keeping our fingers crossed that we don't go through another ordeal during Christmas LOL. How thick is a puzzle piece from the 1K count KI jigsaw puzzle brand? Can you please measure it with your calipers?
The 1k puzzle pieces is 1.7mm thick.

I just got a KI Midnight in Barcelona. Same size and artist as yours. Same year? It doesn't even say KI, but Playview, does yours say the same? It's got a new feature...Sort-R-Box. I just don't want to open it, until i hear from you...hopefully.
I've been looking up your Barcelona set, it's so beautiful and looks to be one of the newer images from that artist.
Mine says 2023 Playview Brands on one of the side panels of the lid, but the rest of the box says KI. Is your box a big white box? With your puzzle, it looks like they've changed the box design/size to accommodate this new Sort-R-Box feature. Playview is the company that carries/distributes KI puzzles as well as other brands. They are the ones who sent me the KI puzzles. But I wonder if they're just labeling them as Playview now. Very interesting. It would think it's the same quality though.

The thing is that I mistakenly did not watch the video presentation on Amazon when I purchased it...honestly, I may have reconsidered, as the box is too big for storage space. I am hoping the quality is the same since they may just have taken out the brand KI puzzles and kept Playview. I am hoping the puzzle piece quality is just as good as you have mentioned, since they did do this makeover.
I am working on one of 3 gifted puzzles ; I have already built the Pomegranate Dragon of the Yangtze, 1000pcs. Now I am finishing up a gifted White Mountain Puzzle called Hundreds and Hundreds of Pencils. Up next is one gifted from my wishlist, Pomegranate The Tamer, then I plan to build Midnight in Barcelona.
@@bettyc.6280 Yea, I hope they didn't change the overall quality of the KI/Playview Midnight series. I'm going to have to pick one of the new ones up at some point and see if there's a difference myself.

I have completed the Midnight in Barcelona puzzle. Same exact quality pieces as you mentioned in this video. Barely holds up pickup challenge.The bummer is the box size; just like people butcher puzzles by gluing them, I may butcher the box to a smaller size, not fond of the sorter box feature but am thinking about it. I do want to keep it: nowadays, glossy pieces don't always mean puzzling interference, and this is the case...no issues, so a keeper.

The overall quality and experience is much better than Ceaco. I was honestly surprised how great the KI sets were.
