As a psychiatric nurse with anxiety these techniques are right on point! I didn’t watch the entire video (am feeling anxious lol) but skimming through these are distraction and managing tools we literally teach to the lovely people we care for. Amazing work Taryne I love your channel it’s helped me a lot ❤️

Yes to Ice! Holding ice cubes in your hands while feeling anxious/having a panic attack. 👌

I've always taken an ice pack with me everywhere with me for years. I didn't realize it was a grounding technique. Especially when I get vertigo in stores and I panick. I take my ice pack from my purse and put it on my head or back of neck and it helps so much!

I watch Netflix/Anime shows, try to count to 10 & take deep breathes, a fidget popper helps me too. I’m always on my phone because I’m use to having something in my hand. It’s a comfort thing. I’m always use to having something in my hand because I get super anxious.
I need to find some new ways to help me calm down.

I have sadly tons of mental health issues, one of them being PTSD and I cannot agree more about this!! Using your senses is the best way to calm down in my opinion,at least thats what works best for me when I have anxiety, start to dissociate or have flashbacks. In my case smell is the best answer to stop flashback and dissociation cause it helps to stay in the present. Touch helps my anxiety part more, having something in my hands to play with or just a texture. Thanks for sharing!! And hope that If someone reads this comment, please know you are not alone in this :)

Unrelated, if you don’t want your nail polish to have marks or bubbles, use a quick dry top coat. Make sure it’s thick and dries before you move on with your day 😉

I love the grounding techniques you've mentioned. Also I read that instead of distracting and putting a bandaid on it....just let it happen. And observe it. When you face anxiety instead of run from it it will go away quickly. The more you resist something the more it comes. And also your anxiety has to reach a peak and will eventually naturally go down. Your body will naturally exhaust itself and go back to normal. I mean it is scary as hell but taking back that fear and retraining your brain is gonna be work. I have my own techniques I do too.....olly stress gummies, or cbd gummies, ice pack, vertigo X from Amazon, also a breathing necklace from Amazon the $30 one. If I don't have an ice pack i carry Be Kool temple roll on from cvs and it makes my head feel cold. Or watching a new show that makes me focus on what's going on. If I watch an old show it isn't enough to keep my mind busy. Or just talking to someone to distract me about their problems. Also last resort put a good amount of salt in your mouth to distract you! I like the war head thing too lol 😆 thought of another thing.....I realized when I was sitting really rigid and tight I'm literally anxious. So I relaxed my body and focused on my breathing because I heard ANXIETY CANT LIVE IN A CALM BODY🧘‍♀️ I love that phrase! And it immediately helps! Just some of my tips! And I do try to confront my anxiety. But I am anxiety's bitch sometimes too lol🤪

I've noticed since I've gotten older I been getting more anxiety with my rheumatoid arthritis the limitations and pain of having it. My husband and I have been really liking Legos and I feel like that has been helping me concentrate on what I'm building instead of my pain. Thank u for sharing this video. I been thinking of doing a video like this as well.💜
