- We listened to the Ducksquad to create a list of the most hated animatronics out there! Today we’ll be taking a look at some of the animatronics you voted as the most hated of all. Unpopular opinion: I prefer the original Phantom animatronic (the rotting corpse one) over the new one. I think it sold the idea that he was so evil his body literally rose from the grave and he was going to throw you into his coffin in his place. The change made it feel like an important moment in the plot of the ride. It felt threatening and menacing. The new one just makes the tableau feel empty and not at all like the start of the big climax of the ride.
Yeah, I just don't like the direction Disney Paris took the storyline in the Manor update. The original Phantom decaying more and more each time you saw him, and Melanie continually looking for her suitors and ultimately helping you escape, was much more effective in story telling.
@@tonycommodore8929 Yes! It was a narratively complex story with a very definite (albeit tragic) "hero" and "villain" and a satisfying ending that still left just enough open ended to make you want to go on over and over again to find any little clues you may have missed. Now it plays it's entire hand right up front and spends the rest of the ride basically taunting you. Some interpretations could even argue that the two characters are following you through the ride almost like a stalker. And the end is literally taunting you now with Melanie asking you to marry her with you knowing the fate of everyone that came before. I hate to say it but I think it may have ruined the ride.

Y’know. Since our pal Disco Yeti can never be removed for ride repairs, I think Disney should at least build a second one for a walk-through attraction. Having to walk under or near it in ‘A Mode’ would be a real fright.
As a Spirit Halloween fanatic, I can confirm that literally the ENTIRE haunt community HATES Johnny Punk, for good reason. He was only sold one year, in the 2020 Halloween season, and carries the title of "Worst Spirit Halloween Animatronic Ever", and is used to compare horrible animatronics, (example: "This animatronic is almost as bad as Johnny Punk"). $160 for a 4 foot animatronic that barely swings, has crappy phrases, and overall looks bad isn't worth the money.

If the animatronics in a CEC or other similar establishment are well maintained and taken care of, then they're not scary at all.
It's only the ones who have been neglected and/or abandoned that I can understand why they might be creepy to some.
those that have a phobia of dolls, mannequins, and animatronics and puppets would disagree with you. luckily i’m not one of those people, i’m just playing devil’s advocate here.
My biggest flex is that I got to ride expedition everest while the yeti was in A mode

Oh yea, I remember the Rock-afire Explosion! Never actually saw them of course, but I learned about them in a documentary and imo they’re kinda better then the newer (and now going out of business too) Chuck E. Cheese.

the rock-afire showtapes are so dang good, the banter between the characters feels way more natural than the CeC shows did imo
Chuck E Cheese is the older brand. Showbiz Pizza was originally founded to be a franchise of Pizza time theater but the owner heard Bushnell dismiss the maker of the Animatronics used in the Wolf Pack 5 when he was concerned about the Portrait show not looking as advanced he flew to Florida made a deal.with Creative and went independent the first location of Showbiz even had play equipment provided by PTT because it was mostly built as a CEC location before he broke contract. Ironically the Balcony and Porch show Cybermatics units actually stay in better shape than the creative models.
I don’t hate any of the Rockafire Explosion characters, some people are so cruel !
Honestly they just "hate" them bcuz of the not well thought out designs,but if u ignore that they are some charming-ass characters

As someone in the haunter community, I can confirm that Johnny Punk is by far one of the most disliked props. Almost to the point where people are overreacting about him lol
I was seven when I rode the brand new Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland. The jumping ghosts behind the grave stones were way faster and scared the hell out of me. I see why they slowed them down.

Johnny punk was ridiculous, that was one of my least favorites Spirit did other than the Sam Trick or treat animatronic that swung back and forth using the theme song and maniacally giggling everything you went past.

Can't they do like an A.5 mode? You don't have to do the earth shattering lunge but like at least he can articulate a little, common!
You'd need to reprogram him for that which would require removing him, running them into the same problem that also prevents them from repairing him since that would require nearly the entire ride to be pulled apart just to deal with this ONE thing. Plus, considering A-mode was causing the yeti to 1; become detached from his base, and 2; damage the overall structural integrity of the ride, they probably don't want to take the risk.
one time i was riding Expedition Everest and the lights to his room were all on without the strobe light. it was so weird not seeing him move. he almost looked dead
I love Disco Yeti! Sucks that we can’t get too great looks at him, but I’d rather it be like that than not have him at all!

Gotta be honest. The new Yeti at Disneyland really doesn't impress me much. And I honestly miss hearing his roar coming from the Matterhorn every few minutes, the new roar they gave him just...sucks. :/

I feel like “hate” is a strong word here, but for me, I’d say the Carnataur from “DINOSAUR!” in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Hungarian Horntail from “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” in Islands of Adventure should be on the list. These are both animatronics that got a reaction of genuine fear from me while riding as an adult.
Sounds like they did their jobs, then. I was truly horrified by the Dinosaur ride in the Animal Kingdom as a kid, but I'd love a chance to face my fears now that I'm an adult.
I hope we get a part 3 cause I'm loving these! I'm not going to lie I prefer the OG Phantom way better, much more creepy than the new one they have today. I'm glad I'm not the only one that loves The Haunted Mansion and those ghosts behind the tombstones sometimes gives me a jump scare...but I'm not scared about it!

I remember when the pop up ghosts were in the attic and it was scary beyond all reason.
They still have the same type of jumpscare in Disneyland. Instead of busts, though, it's just a little disembodied head that gets air-lifted out of various hat boxes around the attic. They're the "blink and you miss it" types, but you know they're coming because you can hear the hiss of the air pump gearing up to make them hop out of the box. It's a simple trick, but they still get me!

I'll be honest, the phantom is one of my favourites. I think the hat phantom fits more though.
Anyone remember Kitchen Cabaret and Food Rocks from Epcot at Walt Disney World? They seemed pretty spooky to my 10year old brain.
Johnny punk sounds like Finn from Adventure Time and I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually Jeremy Shada voice him and I have the same name as him minus his last name.

I hate the pop up ghosts at the Haunted Mansion. I’m no good with jump scares but I love the graveyard scene. So I block the bottom part of my sight with my hand and enjoy the silliness all the other friendly ghosts are getting into.
I didnt even know they scared people when i went on i was too distracted talking to my grandma about the ghosts that i didnt get scared
@@UltimateGummyCat22 it’s the suddenness of them popping out that gets me every time. The cutest thing could be substituted and if still get startled probably 😂

Yes he is. He's considered the worst Spirit Halloween animatronic of all time within the haunting community. It's $160 for a 4 foot animatronic with a crappy swinging animation and bad phrases, not worth the money.

I remember being on the haunted house ride when my grandparents and dad took me to Disney one year. My papa and dad had me sat between them on the ride and during the part where you pass the mirror, a ghost man illusion popped up sitting where I was sitting, and it apparently spooked my dad so bad he grabbed me to make sure I was actually still there.

Thanks Fastpass for a great upload part 2 I think there's loads of animatronics out there in abandoned places to them pop up ghosts made me laugh the one that I didn't like was that swinging clown he was very creepy no thanks, I think there's something about creepy clowns from childhood that affects us in adulthood I don't know.

I wasn't born at that time, but I've done so much research regarding 80s things, especially Showbiz, that it's probably one of the coolest decades in my book. I'm hoping to buy a Showbiz animatronic in the future to study it and refurbish it.

idrk but I swear I was in Disney world recently and went on Expedition Everest and i swear i remember the yeti doing the grabbing motion. it was Disney world i know so i actually was there 2 weeks ago. i might have been mistaken about the yeti perhaps but aye.

Noooo i was so sad to see that phantom ravenswood is in here! As someone obsessed with the haunted mansion and all of its variations i have always loved that version of the animatronic and im so sad i can never see it for myself of the ride 😢
