I've found my own way to farm chests. It's perfect for people who struggle to get good guns for their level in UVHM and it allowed me to farm to 72 rather easily. It involves going to pyro petes bar, killing normal pyro pete during the campaign mission. After you kill him just take the elevator and now you're in a room with 2 chests. DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR FOR MOXXI. Just open the 2 chests repeatedly until you get the guns you want then just save and quit and repeat the process. That's how i did my chest runs anyways :P Edit: Pyro pete doesnt respawn and all enemies in the bar are non-hostile, so there wont be any trouble getting there.
Hey guys. Sorry about the major errors on the intial upload for this video. I had an error the first time I rendered the video so I lowered the frame rate. Normally when I do this, the videos render error-free but at the lower frame rate. For whatever reason and much to my surprise, my editing software decided to just include black screens instead of Borderlands 2 gameplay. What i've gone ahead and done is gone back, re-edited the entire video, re-rendered the entire video twice, double checked both rendered versions, and I've also checked the version that appears on youtube for errors. If you're watching the video now, things should be good now. I'm glad you guys pointed this out in the comments and that I was able to catch it. Sorry for the wait and I hope you guys enjoy the video.
This. I only bought the headhunter packs back in 2015 because i'd shelved the game before they came out first time around, and bought them when I revisited it. I keep coming back to this game when i'm bored of everything else.
I haven't seen any mention of this chest anywhere so i'll describe it here: once you get on Claptraps ship and land on 3 Horn Divide, on the Road to Santuary, you have a (at normal) lvl 11 chest close by. You just have to activate the Catch a ride to make the jump over the canyon and then do some hopping to get on top of those tubular structures. In order to farm it you just have to fight a few boolymongs to make it to the car, jump and hop. It's a fairly simple run and a great way to update your equipment, so you can go for Harold, at least.
1. similar to your hero's pass farm you can do the same thing upon entering bunker 2. the secret stash in wildlife is an easy chest if you save/quit from the creature slaughterdome 3. the dev chest in tundra gives high rarity loot quite often in uvhm
You know In the southern shelf if you go to the elevator thing to get to bewm and boom you can send the elevator back up and go into a little room on the right and there's a red chest
You don't need to fight Saturn to get to the "third" chest in the Fyrestone run, if you position properly you can snipe the switch from below, or use a longbow sticky grenade. Just a tip for anybody who wants to do that chest run.
Badass Crater of Badassitude has another billboard (the one facing the Arena entrance plaza, above the Seraph vendor) with a chest. It's not as fast to get to as the one in the Hero's Pass, but still one of the closest to run to and has no enemies around and has a convenient fast travel station nearby (inside the Bar)!
I like to do a run in Southern Shelf, on UVHM: kill Boom and Bewn (Bonus Package), open the chest hidden under the elevator and finishing with the chest number 7.. Good source for Plasma Casters and some Legendary shields and Grenade Mods..
My first legendary was at the wildlife exploitation preserve I got the the shotgun that flies and shoots enemies when you reload and a shield 2 do no remember which one though no longer use either.

One of my favorite chests is in The Dust: -Spawn at Ellie's garage. -Take a vehicle. -Upon exiting the garage area through the main gate, take on the right. -Drive towards those big-ass stone spikes overlooking the bandit base, to your left. -Drive to the tip of the little one, on the left, and engage thrusters. -Fly. -Land carefully, next to a buzzard hangar. -On the left of the hangar, there's a red Dahl loot chest (will be defended by baddies, though). -Rinse and repeat. One run shouldn't take you more than 30 seconds.
There's a location that I'm surprised you didn't feature in this countdown. It's not necessarily the most convenient in terms of distance you have to travel, but what IS notable about it is that there's THREE red chests up for grabs: the upper floor of the Arena in the Badass Crater of Badassitude accessed through the side entrance (the part of the arena you access in the quest "Eat Cookies and Crap Thunder" and "Breaking and Entering"). 1) The first is down a ladder between two stalls marked "Undercarriage" and "Happy Pig". The trap door leading to the ladder will be closed at first, but there's a circular button just to the left of it that, when stood on, opens it up. 2) The second is in a room to the right further along the corridor in a corner. You'll know when you're in the right room when you see a big-ass pile of crates. Jump up on top of them and it'll be behind them. 3) The third is in another room off to the right and requires some simple platforming to get to. A bit past the crate room you'll find a room that has a hallway leading to an area with some kind of generator in it (or at least that's what it looks like). Go up the stairs to the far end of the room, jump up on the pipes, and use them to get to a platform back on the other side of the room. The Torgue Loaders fought on the way the first time you come here can be hazardous, but if you bring a decent corrosive weapon to deal with them, it's a cakewalk (and if you farm the chests after completing "Eat Cookies and Crap Thunder" but BEFORE accepting "Breaking and Entering", they don't respawn, making it even easier to farm the chests - never bothered to check if they come back after "Breaking and Entering" or not though). Like the billboard chest, it's a reliable source of level 26 gear in Normal mode, with the added benefit that one can reliably find a few pieces of eridium in the lockers along the way with each run too. The only real drawback, besides it being DLC, is that once you've filled up your inventory, it's quite a trek to the nearest vending machine to offload your extra loot.
I've got the infinity and conference call from chests. The conference call was in the chest above the vending machines in Frostburn canyon and the infinity was in the car trunk chest you have to unlock near where you take on the sheriff of lynchwood. Crazy
For all the xbox players out there without the Handsome Collection, If you have the "Triple pack" (Not sure how different this is than the Game of the Year edition) but if you enter the DLC disc (For BL2) you can get the head hunter DLC packs for free from the store, I wasn't able to find them in the "Related" or Borderlands 2 search, but if you look up the names of the Head Hunter Packs individually it will let you download them all for free if you have the DLC Disc in your xbox. There are no achievements here or any unique weapons, but you can find tons of great loot from the game here, including legendary. They take about 30-90 minutes each to complete- fully scripted, voiced, quite creative canon content, with spoilers - so maybe do these after the first play through or any order once you get TVHM or UVHM if you care about spoilers. In normal mode I believe they all start at level 15 and scale up to 35? TVHM seems to be 35-50 and UVHM should be 50-80 (depending on your own level when you fast travel there). As I had played through the main game and the 4 Major DLC about 40 times, it was truly worth it to me for the new quests, extension on the characters, humor, and major boss fights in each of these (even if I had to pay for them, but luckily I didn't). 1. T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest Fast Travel Location: Hallowed Hallow 2. The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler Fast Travel Location: Gluttony Gulch 3. How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day Fast Travel Location: Marcus's Mercenary Shop 4. Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre Fast Travel Location: Rotgut Distillery 5. Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax Fast Travel Location: Wam Bam Island
You don't need to kill Saturn for the 3rd chest. Just stand where you can see the back of the generator and shoot it, you can do it from the 1st chest.
If you don't have the Game of the Year Edition or The Handsome Collection, there is another option: The Borderlands Triple-Action Pack, which has Borderlands, Borderlands 2, & Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and has every single DLC for all 3 games. The only DLC it is missing is the Commander Lilith DLC that recently released, which was not yet out when the Triple-Action Pack was released.
Farming the claptraps new robot revolution loot room has always been good to me and of course knoxxs armory but with the robolution room you don't have to fight anyone.
replace #7 with the closer red chest underneath the elevator just before Boom Bewm in the Southern Shelf... for a borderlands player this chest is the first red chest you can open/farm in the game... as a borderlands youtuber/player you should know about this chest
A very underrated chest in my experience is in Frostburn Canyon, there's a chest right above the fast travel on an iceberg shelf there that you can climb / nade up to in about 20-30 seconds after getting into the level, and it's usually a couple of levels higher than your current level in UVHM.
I have really long loading times, so the area I like the most for chest farming is Sawtooth Cauldron : when entering the level, jump the cliff to your right. Take the white chest on top of the building if you care since it's basically on your way. Next, go to the cave leading to Mortar. Take the hidden red chest on the platform above the lava, then go to mortar. Kill him if you want his loot, or just take the elevator. When on top of the tower, jump directly in front of you, take the red trunk chest, then head back to the tower to get the other hidden red chest in the elevator shaft. Total farmed : 2 red chests, 1 red trunk chest, 1 white chest, and 1 boss. It's still about as fast as farming the hero's pass chest on my setup, but you get fun platforming gameplay instead of constant loading times (I farm this with a rocket jumping Salvador).
I think three of the best and easiest chests to farm are in the Beatdown. When you pass the first set of enemies and go right you can climb a ladder to find the first one (regular), then you walk across the roof to find a red one that almost always have either a legendary grenade or e-tech, then you go down the roof and walk to the far end to find a trunk chest which usually carry e-techs. You can get those three chests in a row without meeting a single enemy. Thanks for the video.
If your looking for decent level 20 guns and no risk I recommend you complete the Clan War: end of the rainbow and after killing bagman you can turn in the mission and save quit and rejoin and go down the same path and up the stair thing you left through and you will see a red chest PERSONALY I GOT A PEARLESCENT SNIPER RIFLE
farm the two chests after beating pyro Pete. once you've beaten him once, you can save and quit and restart the game without Pete respawning. this makes it easy to get to the two loot crates
There's actually some geometry that makes that third chest way easier to get, as you can shoot it from the downed water tower under the road and across from the fuse box. (In Arid Nexus)
A brazillian youtuber managed to find a way to reliably get into the treasure room some years ago instead of just blindly jumping. Dunno if its considered jiujitsu but its better than blindly jumping to get into the elevator glitch
Holy shit!! This is amazing content. Anybody whos in UVHM and doesnt have dlc, go to the opportunity chest!! I did it willy nilly during the killing jacks double mission during my play through, and first try i got a speedball legendary grenade from the chest! Mind blown! I have screenshot even i was extremely surprised.
I do not know if anyone has already posted it, but you can open the 3rd Firestone chest by simply shooting at the back of the switch. You can see the back of the switch from below.
the elektro fence of the third chest of the firestone chest run can also be shut down by jumping on a car behind the tower with the fuse and aiming at the fuse when it apears shot at it (with that you don't have to defeat saturn)
you forgot the chest under the elevator when you enter boom bewm's arena and the 4th chest in the arid nexus on the top of the Hyperion info stockade where you can just run up the outside. and if you're farming the hero's pass chest, I suggest you'd also farm the hidden warrior chest because it has better drop rates in my experience. non the less good video, keep it up!
I really like zone chest runs, with Frostburn Canyon and Opportunity being my favorite. I get bored of doing the same one chest over and over, but figuring out the quickest route through a zone getting all the red chests is really fun to me.
The train from the Marcus mercenary day DLC is so clutch. I've gotten 2 legendary class mods in the past 3 days after farming it around only 25-30 times. I also got a good number of purple rarity guns and rocket launchers.
surprised people besides me are still playing this game. i recently beat ultimate vault hunter mode with the same wepons i had beat (2nd difficutly mode). such a tough game when you have among the best guns possible that aren't legendaries
A phenomenal chest farm location is in pyro petes bar if you haven accepted the quest to kill pyro pete (raid version) you can simply go through the beatdown get into his bar and go into his chest room that you’re allowed to enter after you defeat him except you don’t have to kill him if the quest is still not accepted you get two red chests in an estimated every two minutes I got a super gunerang and multiple transformer sheilds doing this also very good for etechs.
I'd say the Leviathan loot room is a good option for those who hate monotony. It takes a bit longer to do, but you get a bossfight and a room that's full of chests. In my experience, it's good for E-techs
I got a E-tech Bandit Launcher which is simillar to a Poor Man's Norfleet, since I am using Axton, the Tundra Express Developer's Chest is best farmed with Madame Von Bartlesby for the Baby Maker :)
In the badass crater of badassitude, there are 4 chests you can get to relatively easy. Once you spawn in beginning of DLC, grab a vehicle, ride it to the road behind that town area in front of Moxxi's bar and there's a chest on a catwalk behind one of the buildings by the Seraph vender. Also if you gain access to the arena, you'll get access to 3 more chests (doesn't require fighting in the tournament either) leave the arena entrance go to your right until you reach the other entrance to the arena and there are 3 chests you can keep farming with no enemies whatsoever (i've even gotten a Pearl in this area) Then you can dashboard and respawn at the beginning of the DLC and you have access to 4 chests with little or no resistance. They are a bit spread out so you'll definitely need a vehicle for the beginning and some running inside the arena. Wish I could make a video to illustrate this method, but hopefully someone will read this and it will help.
You actually don't need to fight Saturn for the third chest in Fyrestone. There is an overturned water tower that gives you an excellent view of the fuse box to shoot it to get the chest.
Another very easy and quick red chest to farm for legendaries in in the Scarlett DLC. Each run takes less than a minute, no fighting. Opening this chest also counts against both one of the Wurmwater challenge as well as the pirate chest opening challenge. This chest is found near the top of one of the platform legs leading up to Washburne Refinery from Wurmwater. Enter the refinery. Immediately turn around and travel to the Wurmwater map. You are now at the top of the elevator platform that takes you back down to Washburn Fen near the Dish. Start taking the platform down and quickly jump off and onto the deck of the nearest support post where you'll find a red chest. Loot, restart, and you are back at in the refinery. Lather, rinse, repeat. I've gotten a good number of OP8 legendaries from this chest.
great list ! chest farming is crucial for playing UVHM well, as the bad guys level up with you, so your gear needs to be replaced often. I still think the treasure room exploit in CS DLC is the best chest farm in the game... it takes a while to set up, but you have 13 red chests per run to farm and you have to kill no one ( tho you do have to do some jumping and ducking through walls). in UVHM, once you set up this farm, you can exploit it through as many levels as you want :)
One definite benefit of these instead of farming some badass enemy is you don't level up and thereby render the new gun you find less useful while you're farming it. Of course I'd rather use a hammer buster than something I'd find from these, but both have their uses.
You missed one of the best chestruns. The Arena in the Torgue DLC, where you can run to three chests within a minute, without any enemy encouters. Easiliy top 3 in the game.
My personal favorite farming spot is Pyro Pete's bar. After you kill him, ride up the elevator and grab the 2 red chests, then quit before you save Moxie. After that all you have to do is drop down into his lair, ride the elevator up and you can get the 2 red chests again. Don't have to fire a shot.
The area leading up to the bunker is pretty good too. There's a chest by the bunker entrance and 2 hyperion chests + 3 lockers in the area by the badass constructor spawn
I love the ones just before the bunker in thousand cuts. Just make to the bunker, then you can respawn there. Two chests, just sprint and ignore the constructor bot and loot
There's actually a red chest beneath the elevator you take to fight bewm and boom, once you enter their area, just hit it to go up and underneath there's a small gap you can go through and there's your red chest.

In my experience, best farms in the vanilla game are in The Dust (multiple bosses and chests) and Fyrestone (3 red chests + 2 bosses.) Farming Saturn isn't really worth it, but you're going in that direction anyway for a red chest, so you might as well.
You can actually farm the Fyrestone chest (the one at the start of the original game) without triggering Saturn, if that's what you want to do. Saturn only triggers when you get past a certain point, and assuming you turn right where there's always a low level skag and jump up from there, it won't trigger. I don't see why you'd want to avoid Saturn on this run, but it can be done.
I'm surprised that this isn't on here but the Hatred's Shadow chest run in Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is pretty solid. You start off with a somewhat hidden white chest, followed by a somewhat hidden white chest, then followed by a somewhat hidden red chest, then a white chest, then another white chest, and one more white chest, then you kill a respawnable boss which drops some pretty nice loot and lots of money. I use this mainly as a money run, if you are lucky you get decent guns from the chests/mimics and the boss. There is a vendor at the beginning for when you get there, there is also a vendor right before the boss. After the boss you can save and quit and get put at the beginning or you can run into the next area and drop down and teleport back and sell before starting again. Another thing I do is I fast travel up to the Handsome Sorcerer fight area and get a couple more decent chests and use the sacrifice altar on anything less than a designated amount, or whites. After doing this, you can go up to the top of the tower and jump towards the elevator for a secret chest, the chest is hidden right underneath the lip of the tower so stop and look before you jump. These chests are pretty reliable for those who are lvls 30-40 in normal mode and want some nice guns to take to the next dlc or are about to start true vault hunter mode.

It seems Hyperion red chests, red treasure chests from Captain Scarlet DLC are the only ones with a chance to spawn legendaries.
I once got an emperor from a locker. Everything has a chance to spawn legendaries. It's just a matter of luck.

One of my favorite chests is in The Dust:
-Spawn at Ellie's garage.
-Take a vehicle.
-Upon exiting the garage area through the main gate, take on the right.
-Drive towards those big-ass stone spikes overlooking the bandit base, to your left.
-Drive to the tip of the little one, on the left, and engage thrusters.
-Fly.
-Land carefully, next to a buzzard hangar.
-On the left of the hangar, there's a red Dahl loot chest (will be defended by baddies, though).
-Rinse and repeat.
One run shouldn't take you more than 30 seconds.
There's a location that I'm surprised you didn't feature in this countdown. It's not necessarily the most convenient in terms of distance you have to travel, but what IS notable about it is that there's THREE red chests up for grabs: the upper floor of the Arena in the Badass Crater of Badassitude accessed through the side entrance (the part of the arena you access in the quest "Eat Cookies and Crap Thunder" and "Breaking and Entering").
1) The first is down a ladder between two stalls marked "Undercarriage" and "Happy Pig". The trap door leading to the ladder will be closed at first, but there's a circular button just to the left of it that, when stood on, opens it up.
2) The second is in a room to the right further along the corridor in a corner. You'll know when you're in the right room when you see a big-ass pile of crates. Jump up on top of them and it'll be behind them.
3) The third is in another room off to the right and requires some simple platforming to get to. A bit past the crate room you'll find a room that has a hallway leading to an area with some kind of generator in it (or at least that's what it looks like). Go up the stairs to the far end of the room, jump up on the pipes, and use them to get to a platform back on the other side of the room.
The Torgue Loaders fought on the way the first time you come here can be hazardous, but if you bring a decent corrosive weapon to deal with them, it's a cakewalk (and if you farm the chests after completing "Eat Cookies and Crap Thunder" but BEFORE accepting "Breaking and Entering", they don't respawn, making it even easier to farm the chests - never bothered to check if they come back after "Breaking and Entering" or not though). Like the billboard chest, it's a reliable source of level 26 gear in Normal mode, with the added benefit that one can reliably find a few pieces of eridium in the lockers along the way with each run too. The only real drawback, besides it being DLC, is that once you've filled up your inventory, it's quite a trek to the nearest vending machine to offload your extra loot.

I've got the infinity and conference call from chests. The conference call was in the chest above the vending machines in Frostburn canyon and the infinity was in the car trunk chest you have to unlock near where you take on the sheriff of lynchwood. Crazy
For all the xbox players out there without the Handsome Collection, If you have the "Triple pack" (Not sure how different this is than the Game of the Year edition) but if you enter the DLC disc (For BL2) you can get the head hunter DLC packs for free from the store, I wasn't able to find them in the "Related" or Borderlands 2 search, but if you look up the names of the Head Hunter Packs individually it will let you download them all for free if you have the DLC Disc in your xbox. There are no achievements here or any unique weapons, but you can find tons of great loot from the game here, including legendary. They take about 30-90 minutes each to complete- fully scripted, voiced, quite creative canon content, with spoilers - so maybe do these after the first play through or any order once you get TVHM or UVHM if you care about spoilers. In normal mode I believe they all start at level 15 and scale up to 35? TVHM seems to be 35-50 and UVHM should be 50-80 (depending on your own level when you fast travel there). As I had played through the main game and the 4 Major DLC about 40 times, it was truly worth it to me for the new quests, extension on the characters, humor, and major boss fights in each of these (even if I had to pay for them, but luckily I didn't).

You don't need to kill Saturn for the 3rd chest. Just stand where you can see the back of the generator and shoot it, you can do it from the 1st chest.
If you don't have the Game of the Year Edition or The Handsome Collection, there is another option: The Borderlands Triple-Action Pack, which has Borderlands, Borderlands 2, & Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and has every single DLC for all 3 games. The only DLC it is missing is the Commander Lilith DLC that recently released, which was not yet out when the Triple-Action Pack was released.

Farming the claptraps new robot revolution loot room has always been good to me and of course knoxxs armory but with the robolution room you don't have to fight anyone.

replace #7 with the closer red chest underneath the elevator just before Boom Bewm in the Southern Shelf... for a borderlands player this chest is the first red chest you can open/farm in the game... as a borderlands youtuber/player you should know about this chest
Thing is that you will have to fight your way through to this chest, for the other one it´s just run which is probably faster.
A very underrated chest in my experience is in Frostburn Canyon, there's a chest right above the fast travel on an iceberg shelf there that you can climb / nade up to in about 20-30 seconds after getting into the level, and it's usually a couple of levels higher than your current level in UVHM.
I have really long loading times, so the area I like the most for chest farming is Sawtooth Cauldron :
when entering the level, jump the cliff to your right. Take the white chest on top of the building if you care since it's basically on your way. Next, go to the cave leading to Mortar. Take the hidden red chest on the platform above the lava, then go to mortar. Kill him if you want his loot, or just take the elevator. When on top of the tower, jump directly in front of you, take the red trunk chest, then head back to the tower to get the other hidden red chest in the elevator shaft.
Total farmed : 2 red chests, 1 red trunk chest, 1 white chest, and 1 boss.
It's still about as fast as farming the hero's pass chest on my setup, but you get fun platforming gameplay instead of constant loading times (I farm this with a rocket jumping Salvador).

I think three of the best and easiest chests to farm are in the Beatdown. When you pass the first set of enemies and go right you can climb a ladder to find the first one (regular), then you walk across the roof to find a red one that almost always have either a legendary grenade or e-tech, then you go down the roof and walk to the far end to find a trunk chest which usually carry e-techs. You can get those three chests in a row without meeting a single enemy.

If your looking for decent level 20 guns and no risk I recommend you complete the Clan War: end of the rainbow and after killing bagman you can turn in the mission and save quit and rejoin and go down the same path and up the stair thing you left through and you will see a red chest PERSONALY I GOT A PEARLESCENT SNIPER RIFLE

farm the two chests after beating pyro Pete. once you've beaten him once, you can save and quit and restart the game without Pete respawning. this makes it easy to get to the two loot crates
There's actually some geometry that makes that third chest way easier to get, as you can shoot it from the downed water tower under the road and across from the fuse box. (In Arid Nexus)

A brazillian youtuber managed to find a way to reliably get into the treasure room some years ago instead of just blindly jumping. Dunno if its considered jiujitsu but its better than blindly jumping to get into the elevator glitch
Holy shit!! This is amazing content. Anybody whos in UVHM and doesnt have dlc, go to the opportunity chest!! I did it willy nilly during the killing jacks double mission during my play through, and first try i got a speedball legendary grenade from the chest! Mind blown! I have screenshot even i was extremely surprised.
I do not know if anyone has already posted it, but you can open the 3rd Firestone chest by simply shooting at the back of the switch. You can see the back of the switch from below.
the elektro fence of the third chest of the firestone chest run can also be shut down by jumping on a car behind the tower with the fuse and aiming at the fuse when it apears shot at it (with that you don't have to defeat saturn)
you forgot the chest under the elevator when you enter boom bewm's arena and the 4th chest in the arid nexus on the top of the Hyperion info stockade where you can just run up the outside. and if you're farming the hero's pass chest, I suggest you'd also farm the hidden warrior chest because it has better drop rates in my experience. non the less good video, keep it up!

I really like zone chest runs, with Frostburn Canyon and Opportunity being my favorite. I get bored of doing the same one chest over and over, but figuring out the quickest route through a zone getting all the red chests is really fun to me.

The train from the Marcus mercenary day DLC is so clutch. I've gotten 2 legendary class mods in the past 3 days after farming it around only 25-30 times. I also got a good number of purple rarity guns and rocket launchers.

such a tough game when you have among the best guns possible that aren't legendaries
For the fyerstone chest where you gotta shoot a panel you can get it be walking up the water tower leg then shoot it when you're at the top
A phenomenal chest farm location is in pyro petes bar if you haven accepted the quest to kill pyro pete (raid version) you can simply go through the beatdown get into his bar and go into his chest room that you’re allowed to enter after you defeat him except you don’t have to kill him if the quest is still not accepted you get two red chests in an estimated every two minutes I got a super gunerang and multiple transformer sheilds doing this also very good for etechs.
There's also a red chest behind the elevator right before Boom Bewm in Southern Shelf. Great source for green and blue pistols when starting out.
I was farming The Fridge. Which consists of 3 mini bosses and 3 chests to farm and it’s a pretty good spot to farm. One boss was Rakkman

I'd say the Leviathan loot room is a good option for those who hate monotony. It takes a bit longer to do, but you get a bossfight and a room that's full of chests. In my experience, it's good for E-techs
It was excluded from this list, because it's only lootable 2 times officially and requires glitches for any further looting.
I got a E-tech Bandit Launcher which is simillar to a Poor Man's Norfleet, since I am using Axton, the Tundra Express Developer's Chest is best farmed with Madame Von Bartlesby for the Baby Maker :)
In the badass crater of badassitude, there are 4 chests you can get to relatively easy. Once you spawn in beginning of DLC, grab a vehicle, ride it to the road behind that town area in front of Moxxi's bar and there's a chest on a catwalk behind one of the buildings by the Seraph vender. Also if you gain access to the arena, you'll get access to 3 more chests (doesn't require fighting in the tournament either) leave the arena entrance go to your right until you reach the other entrance to the arena and there are 3 chests you can keep farming with no enemies whatsoever (i've even gotten a Pearl in this area) Then you can dashboard and respawn at the beginning of the DLC and you have access to 4 chests with little or no resistance. They are a bit spread out so you'll definitely need a vehicle for the beginning and some running inside the arena. Wish I could make a video to illustrate this method, but hopefully someone will read this and it will help.
for an honourable mention you could have the toilet in three horns divide. its a great way to get early rocket launchers
You actually don't need to fight Saturn for the third chest in Fyrestone. There is an overturned water tower that gives you an excellent view of the fuse box to shoot it to get the chest.
Another very easy and quick red chest to farm for legendaries in in the Scarlett DLC. Each run takes less than a minute, no fighting.
Opening this chest also counts against both one of the Wurmwater challenge as well as the pirate chest opening challenge.
This chest is found near the top of one of the platform legs leading up to Washburne Refinery from Wurmwater.
Enter the refinery. Immediately turn around and travel to the Wurmwater map. You are now at the top of the elevator platform that takes you back down to Washburn Fen near the Dish. Start taking the platform down and quickly jump off and onto the deck of the nearest support post where you'll find a red chest. Loot, restart, and you are back at in the refinery.
Lather, rinse, repeat. I've gotten a good number of OP8 legendaries from this chest.
great list ! chest farming is crucial for playing UVHM well, as the bad guys level up with you, so your gear needs to be replaced often. I still think the treasure room exploit in CS DLC is the best chest farm in the game... it takes a while to set up, but you have 13 red chests per run to farm and you have to kill no one ( tho you do have to do some jumping and ducking through walls). in UVHM, once you set up this farm, you can exploit it through as many levels as you want :)
One definite benefit of these instead of farming some badass enemy is you don't level up and thereby render the new gun you find less useful while you're farming it. Of course I'd rather use a hammer buster than something I'd find from these, but both have their uses.

You missed one of the best chestruns. The Arena in the Torgue DLC, where you can run to three chests within a minute, without any enemy encouters. Easiliy top 3 in the game.
My personal favorite farming spot is Pyro Pete's bar. After you kill him, ride up the elevator and grab the 2 red chests, then quit before you save Moxie. After that all you have to do is drop down into his lair, ride the elevator up and you can get the 2 red chests again. Don't have to fire a shot.
The area leading up to the bunker is pretty good too. There's a chest by the bunker entrance and 2 hyperion chests + 3 lockers in the area by the badass constructor spawn
I love the ones just before the bunker in thousand cuts. Just make to the bunker, then you can respawn there. Two chests, just sprint and ignore the constructor bot and loot
There's actually a red chest beneath the elevator you take to fight bewm and boom, once you enter their area, just hit it to go up and underneath there's a small gap you can go through and there's your red chest.
If you go for the one in Southern Shelf, don't forget to loot the red one underneath the elevator in the Boom Bewm area.

In my experience, best farms in the vanilla game are in The Dust (multiple bosses and chests) and Fyrestone (3 red chests + 2 bosses.) Farming Saturn isn't really worth it, but you're going in that direction anyway for a red chest, so you might as well.
I got a Fastball grenade from #3, made the rest of the run easier. I saw a video of multiple legendaries at #1
The one in the badass crater of badassitude chest gave me a pearl once. It is the best chest in my opinion
You can actually farm the Fyrestone chest (the one at the start of the original game) without triggering Saturn, if that's what you want to do. Saturn only triggers when you get past a certain point, and assuming you turn right where there's always a low level skag and jump up from there, it won't trigger. I don't see why you'd want to avoid Saturn on this run, but it can be done.
The hidden chest under the lava in the vault is pretty good too and very easy to farm
4:26 you can cheap shot the fuse box if you shoot it from the back from where you standing.
I like the fyrestone route best mainly because I got a Maggie from the electric fence chest, I also like the chest by the warrior
I'm surprised that this isn't on here but the Hatred's Shadow chest run in Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is pretty solid. You start off with a somewhat hidden white chest, followed by a somewhat hidden white chest, then followed by a somewhat hidden red chest, then a white chest, then another white chest, and one more white chest, then you kill a respawnable boss which drops some pretty nice loot and lots of money. I use this mainly as a money run, if you are lucky you get decent guns from the chests/mimics and the boss. There is a vendor at the beginning for when you get there, there is also a vendor right before the boss. After the boss you can save and quit and get put at the beginning or you can run into the next area and drop down and teleport back and sell before starting again. Another thing I do is I fast travel up to the Handsome Sorcerer fight area and get a couple more decent chests and use the sacrifice altar on anything less than a designated amount, or whites. After doing this, you can go up to the top of the tower and jump towards the elevator for a secret chest, the chest is hidden right underneath the lip of the tower so stop and look before you jump. These chests are pretty reliable for those who are lvls 30-40 in normal mode and want some nice guns to take to the next dlc or are about to start true vault hunter mode.
