- Filmed on May 13, 2018: After waiting 12 years of discovering this MOST FAMOUS tourist destination, it is time that I finally get to see this in person!!!!! :D :D :D :D These were the fastest elevator in the world until the Shanghai Tower was built few years ago, but these are BY FAR THE FASTEST I had ever ridden in my whole life! :D These travel 3300 FPM!!!! Traveled almost 100 floors in like about 30 seconds. With that said, enjoy the video! Installed in 2004.

I really enjoyed the carved coral and such on one of the floors of the 101. Also, all the music on the elevators throughout the country was very cool.

They're no longer the fastest elevators in the world. The fastest ones now are in Shanghai Tower which were installed by Mitsubishi.

IDLift3000 That’s not true btw. The fastest Elevators in the world belong to the Guangzhou CTF Finance centre installed by Hitachi. They can travel at speeds up to 21m/s above the rated speed of 20m/s after being modified in June 2017. The ones at Shanghai Tower only have a top speed of 20.5m/s
IDLift3000 For some reason many people are unaware of this news which I just find it sad, it is not giving Hitachi the recongnition it deserves and instead the limelight is stolen by Mitsubishi. Even many videos and on wiki pages people still believe Shanghai Tower has the worlds fastest lifts. Besides that those sources are giving misleading information and many people fall for it due to the lack of research they conducted

Hey! If you go to Guangzhou , China , you will find the fastest elevator in the world which is located at CTF Finance Centre. It was installed by Hitachi and these elevators travel at a record breaking speed of 4000ft/min. It goes from ground floor to 95th floor in 43 seconds.

These elevators travel at 1010 meters per minute, which is 3313 feet per minute. In other words these elevators are double the speed of the elevators from the original World Trade Center which traveled at 1600 feet per minute
Before Covid when my parents took me here the elevator would be crowded with people but after Covid when I decided to revisit this place is was only me and my parents on the elevator...☹

Isn't the world's fastest Shanghai Tower in Mainland China?
Speed is 1,230 m/min based on Mitsubishi (The brand that installed).
In the Shanghai Tower the elevators are 1080m/min (64km/h)
Although in another Chinese skyscraper Hitachi is constructing the new fastest elevator with a stunning 1200 m/min (72km/h)
Niet Belangrijk You are right in some way. The ones at Shanghai Tower are able to travel to a max speed of 1080m/min but one was modified to be able to travel up to 1230m/min. However in the Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre, Hitachi managed to modify one of the lifts to travel at 1260m/min above the rated speed of 1200m/min.
