Travis - absolutely FANTASTIC! You are killing it!! What we are seeing from you is very a professional, organized, and civilized LBSF channel. I easily argue that Spartan is THE leader is LBSF CZcams channels…. hands down! Here’s why…. There are some really impressive channels out there showing giants being professionally reeled up to the shore and professionally released. And I enjoy these to a point. Some have some incredible video shots. But here is where you are different. You have videos of giants being caught. You have videos on 4’ and 5’ sharks being caught. You have tackle videos. You have how to videos… kayaking baits, setting hooks, leadering, de-hooking, etc. You have bait comparison videos. You have product review videos of drones, RC boats, etc… you have REALLY good interview videos with fascinating professionals on LBSF. And it’s very obvious that you are passionate about the preserving the sport! For these reasons, in my opinion, Spartan sets the standard for LBSF CZcams channels. Good job!

Dude thank you so much for these kind words. It's taken me and my team a lot just to get to this point. I'm at the point that I'm really just trying to push the education and transparency aspect of what we are doing exactly, but without "spot burning" At the end of the day my goal remains the same. Which is, helping to breed new LBSF anglers that will carry the sport for years to come. In Other then the 4 channels I've listed in my description, I can't even stomach the other CZcams "Shark anglers" So many bad tactics and bad practices makes it extremely hard to watch. I worry most about new guys watching these other videos, and picking up on bad angling. It is what it is, but here we will continue to push education and if we catch we catch. Granted when we catch it makes for better entertainment. Entertainment always trumps education, so in order to effectively carry out our message we need a bit of both. Once again thank you sir 🤙

I land shark fish in Texas and thought this conversation was fantastic and important. I put so much hard work, time and money into fishing for sharks that the last thing I want to do is injure or kill one. I only get to go a few times a year but it's something I always look forward to.

Having these conversations is really important for the sport. Glad to see someone being proactive on these topics.

Education is always more important then entertainment. Sadly most people are less interested in education but that just means we all have to keep doing our part and continue educated. Appreciate your comments 🤙

I dont use tail ropes, i believe tail ropes do more damage. Sharks arent meant to go backwards and you can break there spine by pulling them this way and it also reverses the flow through the gills which isnt good. You can see previous tail rope damage to the little hammer in my video. Big reels 80 or bigger and 200lb line is whats needed for big fish but thats no good if you yourself arent capable. If you dont have experience fish with people who do. If you cant handle the fish just cut it loose, thats its best odds of survival. The nonsense online is a negative impact but the worst are the people who are out for each other in the sport. They hurt more then that person or those people by bringing that attention to the sport. If you kill a fish get rid of it. Night fish or dont fish crowded areas, keep it clean and be respectful.

Normally when I've seen you fishing it's been flat calm. Do you have much experience with big fish on a sloped water line with monster shore breaks? A tail rope can absolutely help in specific circumstances over others, especially in an experienced anglers hands. I also notice you don't drag the fish backwards. A noble act especially because you endanger yourself in order to give those hammers a better chance at survival. Different areas different techniques. Id argue the online presence in regards to posting federally protected fish specifically for clout lust is much much worse for us all. As a result of a handful of Wacko "anglers" and their "fan boys" FWC, NOAA and other agencies think as a community we are trash, specifically because of their online presence. This is not an assumption, these are facts. Although things definitely need to continue to change. What can we really do exactly, share our opinions and try to help other good anglers grow? Lead by example the best you can and remember Noone is perfect. Making mistakes is normal not learning from them isn't. Continue to fish clean like you have been. Build your team strong. Your heart seems to be in the right place 💪

@@BeachSharkFishing yeah for some people a tail rope is better I will agree. Im really good at leadering fish. Up here its rarely over 4ft and most of those days its unfishable. But ive had no issue in 3ft to 4ft. Some of our beaches are steep and it gets rough like anywhere else. Ive been rolled up and down the beach with big fish trying to hold them upright and keep them from getting washed up and down. The secret to that is longer leaders that way you can be out the break when leadering. Then just time a wave to get them out. The sc dnr has a department that does online monitoring and a lot of the numbers that are acquired for fishery management come from online reports. So they are definitely watching. Lol. I like the interviews you get a glimpse of someone else's veiws.
