Ranger Craig is the goat, my mans survived the training tape in an analog horror vid. Absolute unit
First time that’s ever happened I think
Craig got nerfed by all the cosmic entities, he was simply too strong.
Craig is actually GOATED. He was taking down rabbit dudes with only a gray pistol. I hope we see him take down even more enemies later on. He literally has the biggest piece of plot armor in the history of characters at this point
Love craig, what a g
What a kind guy! He's teaching us how to survive in New Jersey!
😂😂
How nice, we definitely needed that. :)
@@雪者 Not what we deserved, but what we needed.
“This is why we don’t go to New Jersey!”
Da ffock you twokin 'bout!?!?!?!"
No one's talking about how Ranger Craig was about to walk straight into the lake at the beginning
What, like suicide?
He knew what he would be forced to do
@@TheLastHylianTitan No, more like he was in front of a green screen and they didn't decide where he'd be until later
You can see by the ripples that he was actually in the lake lmao
I noticed that too.
My one criticism is that the rangers weren't at least paired up. Sending someone solo up against enemies known to hunt in packs is just asking to lose personnel to ambushes, sneak attacks, etc. Big fan of Ranger Craig, though, and the reliance on practical effects is admirable.
I bet it’s cause they’re undermanned and need to cover too much area. If your training video starts with “Last chance to back out”, you probs don’t have a lot of recruits
@@harmonlanager2670 If anything, being understaffed makes it all the more important to protect the staff you *do* have. Sending them in solo isn't the way to do that. I get they want to spread out to find more wayward campers, but like they say, the odds are pretty low, and it's like oxygen masks on a plane. Get yours secured *first* before helping anyone else, because if anything happens to you, then both you *and* the person in need of help are fucked.
@@notreallythere477 I get what you mean but I feel it’s less to do with saving campers and more killing hunters. If you cover less ground quickly, you give a numerically superior foe more time to maneuver around you.
It’s not ideal but, given the situation, it’s understandable enough not to break immersion. I am a bit concerned they’re not armed with rifles or shotguns instead of just handguns.
Even in the military they teach you to never be alone. so yeah I find that a little bit of a stretch lease pairs if not in teams of four.
I actually think that may be part of it, a viscious cycle maybe? The park rangers may not be the good guys here the whole "no matter how human the screams" and all that gave me a bad feeling
Imagine if you had finished an internship and on the last day, your boss said 'BTW this is the Men in Black, go fight god'
LMFAO
I gotta say, I don't think so far I've EVER seen an analogue horror series where you actually see these guys being trained to fight god knows wtf is in the woods. xD
Ask about the dental
Ranger Craig is a king and deserves to be treated as such. I cant wait for more
Amen brother
Fr, he got that dawg in him I'm betting.
This may not make sense but craig is the one guy who ill say is HIM
Bro what?
@EuHipe
The voice actor occasionally starting to get slightly emotional is a good touch that a lot of similar series don’t have because of using crappy text to speech bots.

Initial thoughts so bare with me:
The realization that strangers are possessed humans is another level of disturbing. Even more terrifying is the fact that the possession makes them more animal-like. It leaves the mind to wonder how in the world that happened to them.
I wonder if a park ranger has ever been possessed. That had to be a whole nother level of twisted.
also a few things; 1:01 has the message about not being able to resign before continuing with the video. really is like a life-or-death situation.
then 7:24, looks almost like the set to the stranger danger video, and the glitchy scene with the strangers gathering looks like they're gonna make a sacrifice to the monster in the woods
still have no clue why closing your eyes during the whistling is necessary.
@@seid3366 Maybe covering your eyes keeps you from being turned into a stranger? The "they have surrendered their body to the forest" at 8:09 makes me think that maybe people can be turned. Might become tranced/lulled into vulnerability if you look strangers in the eyes, a bit like their whistling.
Not really sure though, but it's fun to make theories! :D
@@seid3366 My guess is looking at them is what makes you become possessed.
Meanwhile I'm over here wondering how long they had to practice crawling around on all fours to film this installment.
@WobblesandBean just gotta down some coffee and unleash your inner weirdo!
Or practice scaring kids in a quad Halloween costume lmao
The fans (me included): I've only known Ranger Craig for ten minutes, and if anything happened to him, I'd kill everyone here and then myself.
I'm afraid to grow attached to Craig just for him to end up like Luke :(
I think Craig just, uh.... just took care of Luke.
@@WobblesandBean ok WHAT 😳 what did i miss lol
@@WobblesandBeanNo, Luke is the guy killed by the thing in Christmas Eve Candlelight.
@@alu2901but his appearance in this video shows his ears looking a little pointy. he might be transforming into the wolf stranger
@@seid3366 Yes, but still. He was killed in Candlelight.
I love how the only real advice to kill a stranger is to “just start blasting”
It goes to show that they’re ultimately still mortal, and that they’re more so dangerous because of the ambush tactics and pack hunting than for any supernatural traits.
The creature at 2:25 seems to be distinct from the Strangers, though. The Strangers are just guys in masks. Simple masks that don’t articulate. But whatever this thing is, its mouth is articulated, which I take as a massive red flag
@@Gloomdrake I think it's just that the mask is only covering the top half of its face. It's hard to tell cause of the film quality, but I don't think it's meant to be a different creature regardless.
I love how it goes from
"You... should feel no guilt."
to "CONGRATULATIONS!! :D" in a matter of seconds
SO. GOOD. Ranger Craig hooked me right away. I love the contrast between the "stagey" acting, when he's demonstrating how to shout to hikers, and the genuine, terrified courage showing on his face when he confronted the Rabbit Stranger. Great character, terrific actor. More please!! Oh and also the music is deeply unnerving in its folky banality, and you can quote me on that.

The really cool thing is that because the whole hunt is staged for the instructional video, we know that the strangers we saw (at least at the end) aren't actually real strangers, meaning the real things could be even more terrifying to go up against.
I don't know if it's intentional, but the binomial nomenclature for strangers being "homo personatus" not only implies that they are a human species, but that they are as distantly related to us as neanderthals and denisovans.
Pretty sure it is intentional.
What does that mean? The name I mean
@@roboticartist2793 Pretty sure it means something along the lines of "Masked Man"
Homo personatus is latin for person in person and its in the wrong order its backwards all Animals have scientific name is like That like the jaguar is panthera onca and
They seem to be "possessed" humans. They have surrendered their body to the forest, you are doing them a service by freeing their soul. If they weren't human, it is very rare anyone would reference them having a soul.
I just want to say that my man Craig is an absolute G for popping a cap in that hunter! 🙌
He did the most American thing in an Analog Horror video to date.
Never forget to double tap.
I just have to say that I have seen you in every comment section of ARG's i be watching, my friend you have some good taste.
I love that there's practical effects and live people in costumes instead of cgi, that makes it all the more creepy and legit. I'm eager to see more in the near future!
Yup. Although some analog horror creators are very good at CGI (like Kane Pixels and Mandela Catalogue), it's always refreshing to see it done with practical effects. That's why series like HiImMaryMary and Daisy Brown still enter my thoughts from time to time, while others fade from memory.
Hehe I keep picturing the team behind White Stag all gathering somewhere a few times a week to practice running on all fours before going to the woods to film.
It's the actual props, real voice acting, and there being actual people that really sells this series to me. There's a looot of TtS PSA-esque horror shorts out there because it's easy and simple to establish, so I love to see a series putting that extra mile in
At 7:16 is some of the best crawling I’ve ever seen 😂
If Craig dies I want that forest
o b l i t e r a t e d
This brings up a good point. Why don’t they just burn it down? Won’t destroying the ecosystem that harbors strangers wipe them out?
“Don’t cease fire, no matter how human their cries sound. They have surrendered their body to the forest, and you are doing them a service by freeing their soul.” There’s something so chilling about that.
Did anyone notice that at minute 7:24 ranger Craig seems to find the children's camp? I'm excited to see more of this story and learn more about the children's story.
3:33 dude, mordecai and rigby in live action look terrifying.
I’m so glad someone else noticed this
Apparently the artist for these strangers commented on wendigoons livestream and stated that this was an actual reference to regular show
Really into the idea that we have not actually seen a real stranger yet, just actors dressed as one for the sake of an instructional video. They are no more real strangers then the hand puppets from stranger danger.
Unless we are talking about the first video. Pretty sure those are real.
I like to think there is one extremely confused camper out there. Who is convinced they saw a park ranger murder a furry.
Bro ofc Mordecai and Rigby here. This is a park afterall
"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
This could make a pretty neat horror game.
Play a park ranger trying to keep people alive by marking down the trials and keeping monsters away!
This would be a good idea!
Our favorite Analog Horror from New Jersey is returning! Let's see what the Jersey Devil has in store for us in 5 days!
Analog Horror?
What do you mean?!
Can't you see that this shit is real? We are all going to be killed by the giant thing in the forest!
@@punhosdepano5805 nah, infact, *check your gasoline supplies.*
I love the mix of kinda creepy, not overly so obviously, and the goofy. Lots of work went in to this clearly, and i gotta commend the adherence to "campy low budget recreation" because that's what these tapes ALWAYS were. Love it guys. Keep it up
I was watching this live from Wendigoon’s stream and literally EVERYONE was down bad for ranger Craig 😂
Finally, an analog horror video that isn't just a promo video for plushies
Awww, I want an Oswald and Anna stuffy tho 😢
Strangers plushies would be pretty sick tho
the narrator telling the rangers to NOT cease fire even if they cry like a human, may mean the narrator had probably lost someone due to a stranger.
Ranger Dan, is Dan Sevee, you know.
One of the people who went into the basement of the church to try and kill the Adversary.
And we know Luke is dead.
But it's funny how he is also in the show. Implying he is also Dead.
@@CHIPDR0ID As far as we know, Luke is dead, but Dan is still alive.

As a fellow citizen of New Jersey, I can't wait to see all the insane things that happen in the Pine Barrens.
Same
I LOVE CRAIG! We need more of him! Notice that throughout the video Craig's facial hair gets more&more and at the end, they all have the same facial hair? Wonder if that's a requirement for guy Rangers? Anyway, great vid! Looking forward to the next one and more CRAIG! Dan and Luke are great too!
Not necessarily. Maybe male rangers can wear their facial hair however they want or be clean shaven.
Ranger Craig is awesome! I hope he has a bright future ahead :) But they really should have the rangers go off in at least pairs if the strangers usually come in groups
I actually sobbed after ranger craig shot the stranger, i though we'd lose him bc they said strangers hunted in packs
well a) only one stranger there, so Craig just went ham on the stranger. but also b) when a camera's recording the angle behind the stranger, it's more likely this is a re-enactment in context of the video
@@seid3366My thoughts exactly.
Ranger Luke and range dan are the same guys that tried to kill the monster at the bottom of the church
Loved it! The horror is more realistic, It's not straight up showing blood yet it feels off, it's subtle but it makes you believe for a few seconds that this could've been real. Awesome stuff.
3:45 Mordecai and Rigby!
;)
I love this series... It gives me that childish dread of finding something you weren't supposed to.
"He's about to do some rangerin'."
(guy heads for lake)
I think the shot of the snake during the hunting explanation more or less confirms for me that the adversary is meant to be a snake/serpent, or a snake-adjacent creature; albeit massive.
It's Satan
Really enjoying this fresh take and twist to the wider analog horror-esque genre
Can't wait to see what *The Adversary* has in store, and to see more of the Strangers (I love the Strangers)
Wow! Craig is such a good Samaritan! I hope nothing bad ever happens to him.
Ranger Craig is a sweet bean, more of him! Also, yall were great with recreating the atmosphere of those old park safety training videos
Out of all analog horror organisations, The Grand Wood Park Rangers is the best I have seen: They arm you with an effective weapon; They give you training tapes which actually tell you the basics of your job; They actually care about the visitors and staff of the park; They even recorded the sounds and took video evidence of your opponents.
This is the best and most realistic analog horror organisation.
Us Wendigooners appreciate Ranger Craig 🫶
This has got to be one of if not my top favorite analog horror series
Me too
Fun fact - the map you see in the video at 2:06 is the park map for wells mills county park in Waretown NJ in ocean county. I would recognize those maps from anywhere since I’ve been to its sister park Jake’s Branch many times. (I cannot confirm or deny that there are any owl people there)
The bluejay and racoon strangers HAD to be a Regular Show shout-out.
The white stag will indeed be educating
There’s so much to love about this. I like that this gives information but repeatedly makes us doubt if we’re being told the truth, the comedic juxtaposition at the end showing self-awareness, I’m impressed with the quality of this. Especially considering you all seem to be so passionate about it. All I can say is…harness this ambiguity. I think that’s one of the biggest strengths of a series like this, and few take advantage of it. The unknown is scary. Embrace it.
From a fellow young filmmaker to another, keep up the great work!
I find it interesting how they have a whole scientific classification for the strangers, yet the way the narrator talks about them at the end about how they’ve “given up their minds to the forest” makes the sound like they are humans or were humans. So I wonder why they specifically have their own species
I mean, their designation literally translates to Masked Man.
The strangers are possesed humans
Maybe they sacrificed themselves to the Adversary, and it corrupts them and changes their dna or smth
Wait, so Mordecai and Rigby are strangers 😭💀 also the stranger with its sexy hitchhiker leg was 🧑🍳💋🤌
anyone else notice how the feeding gambit song kinda sounds like the song at the very end of the stranger danger puppet show video? and also how an acoustic version of the feeding gambit is played at the end of this video? idk what it means if anything at all but i feel like the strangers are somehow working with the higher ups
It would explain why the park is still open despite being a place I’d never willingly go
Oh my Word! I can feel the lore seeping through the screen.
Edit: alternative way to stop hunting gambit. Pull out your personal Remington 87 shotgun givin to you by the park ranger and aim said shotgun to the knees, chest, heart, or head.
3:35 mordecai & rigby
btw we love you craig
love the regular show reference with the racoon and blue jay monsters
Just finished watching the video. Wanted to give a huge W for Ranger Craig for gunning the stranger down.
This was well thought out and made. Because this is a training video it stands to reason that people would dress up to play the part of Strangers to give the recruits an idea on what they look like, as undoubtedly they could look more terrifying in real life. Also, the typical “new guy” isn’t a bumbling fat fool trying to learn the ropes of the job that you normally see in most training videos of this calibre. He went from the new guy, to typical attentive park ranger, and then finally hunter towards the end. I hope we get to see more videos like this in the future, and I wouldn’t mind seeing a series or even a game that focuses on the day-to-day life of a Grandwood Park Ranger.
There's a physiological, emotional connection to physical props that just can't be done by CGI. It's why a dude crawling around in a tunic and mask can still be scary
Ah, my favorite concept, ranger dealing with supernatural shit all the time, and kinda good at it
just a day in jersey, baby
it would be cool if the homo personatus wasn't just native to the pine barrens, and was endemic to the whole atlantic pine barrens, but is now isolated to new jersey as the most of the pine barrens habitat was destroyed.
You have got to make more of these
Ranger Craig taking out that stranger like a boss. Heckin' giga chad!
if something happens to ranger Craig i'll cryyy
Let's go Ranger Craig! He's a real one!
in this house we stan craig!
Don’t let the Foundation know about this. Seriously, this is a fantastic production on a limited budget, and it captures the VHS qualities of the time nicely. The juxtaposition of the disquieting and the mundane works well. Keep at it
You know it’s a great educational video when it begins with “If you don’t quit now, you can’t back down later because you’ll know too much”
Super impressed by the authenticity of this project! Can't wait for more!
If Ranger Craig dies, sound the sirens.
The Strangers will need a "Holy shit, why is everything in a 39 mile radius on fire, let's blow this popsicle stand" Gambit.
This whistling sound is so unnearving, such a simple touch adds so much to the series. I watch a lot of analog horror, this series feels very special, keep up the great work
This was my favourite episode by far. I love how they increasingly show how institutions work in this world and the roles of the characters. The quality just gets better and better!
The fact that (at least to me) it was not immediately obvious if they were saying “do not hesitate to aggress” as in attack, or “egress” as in run somehow makes it a little more unsettling
We're not gonna talk about how the banjo at the end was playing the forest Stranger melody, huh? Ok cool.
This may seem overly dramatic, but I would die for Craig
I’m surprised ranger’s aren’t paired in two’s. If not to cover each other’s back then to cover each other when one reloads, they hunt in packs and it took Craig three (potentially four because it seems like he shot to make sure it was dead) to kill. Handguns usually don’t have the biggest magazine capacity (most of the time there I mean.)
What’s scarier is that even though this is just a training video and those are not “real” strangers and just other actors ‘pretending’ to be the pretender, they are still creepy. GJ
This got randomly suggested to me on my homepage and I was like "PLEASE BE THE KIND OF VIDEO I THINK YOU ARE" and I am so not disappointed heck yeah I am here for this, gonna watch the other vids and eagerly await more
I like there's no glitches or flashes in these, finally some analog horror I can show to my epileptic girlfriend
At first I believed the strangers were druids who summoned some space worm, but its cool to learn its about the Jersey Devil.
im not sure if the narrator has a name or it was another ranger speaking, but the voice breaking a couple of times due to emotion was a nice touch, intentional or not! this was another great video and the passion is very evident♡
Pretty sure Ranger Dan from the end of the video is the narrator.
So glad to see some analog horror with actual effort put in.
It's worse than we thought, the Strangers are furries!
Glad to finally get another episode of this series, also I just realized Luke is still alive in this one
Perfect timing! I just drew my first fanart for the series a couple days ago lol
JUSTICE FOR LUKE
WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK BABY
Ranger Craig needs to be protected at all costs.
Babe wake up, new White Stag Education just dropped
I’m surprised there’s no “fan” comments about ranger Craig, especially after the wendigoon stream
not only is this advice good for dealing with strangers, it's also good for learning how to better protect yourself from that damn snail
Love the ambiguity/switcharoo between 'egress' and 'aggress'.
When ranger Craig tells me about false trails, I sit my white ass down and listen.
Ranger Craig is so fuckin wholesome I wanna hug him
Each time a video come out, is reassurance that this entire thing is not some fever dream I once had
as a fellow south jersian, i’m glad there’s more awareness in the pine barrens about the strangers.
Dropping off my comment here before the premier begins.
That air raid siren gives me the creeps every time. I hear it every first monday of the month at 12am, but it never stops giving me the creeps..
I had so much fun watching these. They remind me of the old b series films specially the Johns Carpenter's ones like The Thing or Halloween, where instead of doing it for the money of views, it was just a group of people that enjoyed making a film(in this case a hole series) and they give their best effort to make it work while having a great time.
