- There are techniques few people seem to use, and yet, they make watercolor painting a lot easier. In this video, I'll show you how I easily paint complicated forest landscapes with a simple (underrated) technique.

Have you ever tried negative painting? If you're an early beginner and need a solid start with watercolor, you can learn from me here: www.paintingandchocolate.com/learntopaint
You just explained a very important and indispensable technique to save time. Thank you so much.
You're welcome, thank you for your kind comment!
This is a great step forward with negative painting…Lovely.
Thank you Marjorie
hand grip also helpful
Use it!, typically with black paper base!
It is almost magical how the back ground trees came into focus during the painting process.
Yes it's my impression too while painting
Watching you add layer upon layer is so helpful, and the tip about the white gouache is intriguing. I love your tree paintings. Glad I signed up for the workshop.
Thank you Paula 🙂 The workshop teaches the basics and yet, it's what I still use in all paintings to get the look, just more time, attention and detail is added.
Great! Thank you ❤
You're welcome 🙂
You are amazing!!! Your videos are easy to follow, teach techniques that produce beautiful paintings that are distinctive and full of depth and color I’ve not seen not anywhere else. Your enthusiasm and confidence inspire. Your encouragement to try new things and not give up if things aren’t exactly as you’d wanted help keep me going. Thank you for sharing your talent and thanks to you, I’ve put my old palates and brushes back to work after 20 years resting in their plastic storage bins. ❤
I'm glad my videos help, thank you for letting me know and have fun painting !
Thank you so much for sharing this technique. Very beautiful painting🤩🤩
Thank you Leanna!
You are amazing. I love looking at your paintings. "If only" : )
Thank you Patti
omg you ARE smart. i love this!
It's also fun and meditative to paint this way, love to see everything coming together.
This is such a fun technique, its wonderful ☺☺☺
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! Thank you for sharing your skills, talent and beauty. ✨🌸🐚
You're welcome, I'm happy it's helpful
Very nice! The only thing I would say is that as an artist you don’t have to paint exactly what you see, you’re the one in control. I like your finished painting, but personally I would have changed the holes in the main tree a bit because they look like a face.
I know what you mean, I do like to render what i see most times and yes, sometimes I'd lile to alter photos so I'll use two or three of them since I enjoy a reference. It doesnt happen so often though 🙂
Oh i love your artworks❤❤❤ its really stunning how you do it every video🫶🫶🫶
Thank you Janina, I try!🙂
This is some next level stuff here - thank you so much!
You're welcome 🙂
Thats gorgeous, i love the colors you chose!
Thank you 🙂
Looks amazing, especialy the front details. I'll have to try that.
Great video! Thank you.
You're welcome!
좋은생각, 잘봤어요 😊
beautiful!
Thank you
Great video, thanks 😊 btw, there's a very surprised forest being in that tree!
Yes I thought so too!
Nice!
Glad you enjoyed!
very pretty 🎆
Thank you
Do you recommend Canson XL Aquarelle for Watercolor or Watercolor Pencils?? I just went to the ArtBar yesterday to look for papers and Arches is too expensive for me, only elite artists can buy those papers easily and where am I supposed to get 2,400 Philippine peso for a small cut of sheets of paper??
For watercolor pencils it will be fine.
i personally prefer strathmore over canson for watercolor, it’s still not gonna break the bank like cotton paper will but it works better in my experience
Don't be offended, but you are so pretty, and it shows in your work . Very beautiful ❤
Thank you Linda, that's very nice!
need to present tools, paper, paint selections, etc.
Treein front looks flat( commpared to photo)
