Nice, closest thing I've seen to correct instructions for an oil change on CZcams..... If you loosen the oil filter cap till it's out of threads before you drain the oil the oil filter can be draining into the pan while you crawl under and drain the motor. It won't be dripping all over the place. After 30 years of plastic oil filter housings in the Euro Trash auto repair business I strongly recommend a 6 point socket for the filter. 2.0 Turbo takes 5W30 not 5W20 incase someone uses this as a guide. Oil viscosities are critical these days since the oil is also doing hydraulic fluid duty during cam timing changes.
Yeah I noticed that a bit drained out after I pulled that cap off, so your way is definitely less messy. I meant 5W30 for the 2.0 just misspoke, I’ll add a correction in the description. Thanks for watching the video Ron!
I use the same pennzoil. I thing that you can use Mobile 1 now that stellantis owns jeep, because they paid for the certification. I have the quadratec aluminum skid, and put a Stahlbus drain plug on it, makes life easier..
The Pennzoil seems like good stuff, yeah I’ve been eyeing those quick drains with a hose you can attach. It definitely would make it less messy, thanks for watching the videos man!
so I have look around about a few things, #1 the 0-w20 I saw that a engineer that was on the design team said they went with the low viscosity because it help protect the head better, but he also said the thicker oil help protect the timing chain, so it was a trade off. Also the thinner the better gas mileage. The other part is the ms certification, I have read a lot about that... oil company has to do something like a 2 year taxi test in Vegas to get the cert, so a lot of oils just dont go through all that is need to get cert. I have used Costco oil in mine no issues, and it does not have the ms cert.
Yeah you are correct but all the information here is from the owner’s manual which is not a bad place to start. I’m sure changing the oil more frequently is the ticket to engine longevity. Thanks for watching the video Ham!
@@jayhernandez6812 I wouldn’t if you have a 3.6L V6. The manufacturer states to use 0w-20. The ms6395 is just the quality of the oil meets factory specifications.

Mobile 1 5x30 has ms6395 meaning this is okay?
Yeah that should be good, just make sure you use 0w-20 if you have the v6.
