No, it was a delay between James microphone and the monitors. Happens fairly often when the mixers try to adjust live sound during rehearsal or even like this case a live show. Unavoidable from both James and Lars and im sure he/she who mixed the sound got to hear it from James and Lars after the show because that person was touching the mixing-table every other song a bit to much and had to overcorrect it afterwards.
58,000 plus should have asked for a refund….. Metallica needs to hang it up…. Don’t need the money…. Bands seem to love to rip off their fans just look at motley scum for example
We are not in the 80s again and smaller venues. This is not even the earlier 2000s tours some bands did like AC/DC in the Argentina stadium with still the mosh-pits and young wild crowd like the 80s 90s again. James is in great form again and his voice clearly is truly James that is not some fraction of himself ... some doing probably last tour concerts clearly the voice is far from its heyday... James voice still has it. They are touring next year also in North America yet.
@David W I was here for this gig at download festival. They sounded great. The new stuff sounds awsome live too. 👍 This here video doesn't do justice to the live sound of Metallica.

Jag har lyssnat på Metallica sedan 1983, men aldrig sett dem live. Vissa säger att det är som ett gympass... Detta verkar lugnt och städat. 🤘
Jag har sett 3 med Metallica och även om de är bra så slår Bruce Springsteen dom lätt när det kommer till stämning och få med publiken.

It sounded quite a lot better irl. But yeah, its hard to get it to sound right with such as weird stage setup.
