Want to know how the new NIKE Max Fly prototypes perform on the track? If you're a sprinter in the 100m and 200m, you're probably wondering what sprint spike you should buy going into the 2024 Olympic season.
You can never go wrong with NIKE Max Fly spikes when you're a sprinter in the 100m or 200m. NIKE always has the best running products on the market and the new Max Fly Prototypes are no exception.
In this video, I'll review the NIKE Max Fly Prototypes spikes and give my opinion on whether or not these are going to be the best sprint spike option in track and field for 2024 when they official hit the spike market. The criteria for the review will be: performance, comfort, style, price, and durability; in addition to a performance test where I do a 30m acceleration sprint, full turn 100m sprints in lanes 2,5, and 8, and a flying 30m sprint in the spikes. You'll see a detailed looked at this violet purple colorway; an in depth breakdown of the spikes; my thoughts on if each spikes will be worth the price; if this spike performs better than the OG Max Fly spikes and the Max Fly uptempo spikes and makes you run faster in the 100m or 200m; if the spikes are the durable and will last; and which spike is the most comfortable to race in.

Hey Aaron!! Thanks for the video, I’m getting back into training for the 800/1500 and I want the MaxFlys and also the new Victory 2 coming out in a few days. Another CZcamsr said that these two spikes have durability issues in part because of the air pockets. What is your opinion on that?

I'm not sold on the MaxFlys. I've done a lot of timing in practice between Nike's different spikes, and the MaxFlys have not shown to provide any advantage in top speed. In fact, my times are actually slightly slower in them compared to more traditional spikes. I recently picked up a pair of the redesigned Nike Ja Fly 4, and my times have been consistently faster. In fact, I just ran a practice PB at age 40: flying 10m in 0.94! With the higher speed and better feel on the curve, I'm definitely sticking with the Ja Fly in meets.

@@Nubako463 Actually, I wasn't that much faster! I ran all my PBs at age 30: 10.81, 21.69, 49.79. I've just stayed really consistent with training over the years, while trying to balance track, work, and family. My 100s were consistently at 11.0 last season at age 39. Hoping to be back under 11 at age 40.
@@kaiphan6335 I can't speak to that as I don't have the superfly elite 2s; I need to pick up a pair! I'm guessing they're pretty similar based on the look of the plates. Kenny Bednarek and Aaron Brown stick with the elite 2s for the 200m--not sure if anyone uses the Ja Fly 4 in the pros.

this is my first time purchasing spikes but i’d just like to know your thoughts on the best for sprints and hurdles. i’m looking some for good bounce back and im just not sure yet
What would be the best spikes to get for 100-200m runs? I was thinking these but idk. I’m a sophomore in high school now and last year I was running an 11.04 for the 100 in saucony spitfire 5’s

Hey man great video but I got a question I’m a junior in hs who last year ran a 56.77 in the 400h wearing the maxflys I was just curious if you think thos are the right spikes for that event or if I should try another type of sprinting spikes?
If you feel like there is enough cushion - use them, but some young athletes prefer victorys on 400m dash. But if you have maxflys - you cant make a mistake
I think it’s all about personal preference and running style that determines if a spike is a good fit. You can definitely try the superfly elite 2 and compare it to the max fly and see which you like better.

Are these better than the Air Zoom Victory spikes cuz they look the same I dont see any noticeable difference.
Yes they are very different. They are sprint spikes so the plate is different. Victories are for distance events.
I wonder how long the spikes will last. Because over the summer I had to change 2 pairs.
Hopefully durability is better on this model

For long jump id definitely go with the long jump spikes Nike makes with the bubble!

@@suspect_cursed personally I wouldn’t jump in max flys. Seems like the ones made specifically for jumping would be a better fit. If you have to jump in sprint spikes, I’d suggest superfly elite 2’s

What is the difference between the regular maxfly and the maxfly uptempo
Lighter weight. Smaller bubble. Foot doesn’t feel as elevated in the back so feels more natural to walking to me, providing a little more control
I’m a 200m runner so I need something good on a turn but I have bad endurance and can’t keep speed that well so what spike do you recommend

They are prototypes not the official spikes. I only got access to them because I’m a Nike sponsored athlete. The final version of these will drop next year to the public
