How apropos! I also love replaying maps because I also forget which steps ended up working. So many people say puzzle games have no replayability because you learn the solutions,,,but it takes me a LONG time to memorize solutions
In the United States the path of the eslips went from Texas to Maine. It was sort of a northeast direction.
In my experience, a hammerized version of a chamber made in the basic builder is more difficult to work through, even if it's the exact same puzzle. I assume it's the "visual clutter" or the potential unpredictability of hammer creations that you just don't have to worry about in a basic build.
I'm as bad as the youtube captions, I heard you say "Solar eclipse April 20, 24". But it's the 8th... Oh wait, he said, "April 2024". Doh!
Oh god i remember trying to complete the original puzzle from this map, and after several hours i gave up 😭
your approach to familiar maps appears to be similar to mine. Instead of just trying to solve the puzzle it becomes a memory exercise trying to figure out what you did last time and why. It's a great puzzle which I would probably have had more difficulty with if I hadn't played the original version first. I do like the look of hammerized maps but as someone else already mentioned they do have the tendency to obscure the solution more.
i was working during the eclipse. i only got to see the end😔
I could not solve the original puzzle. I worked on it for a while till Glados kicked me out of the test chamber as people were lining up at the entrance. I went to the cafe and watched on the big screen people working on other maps. Somebody made a move and I suddenly solved this map in my head. Glados allowed me back into the chamber and I solved it!
Imagine how long the light-baking took for this hameralisation....
Light baking doesn't take really long, this map looks like It'll be done in a minute
